Wrath and Yozora are seen dashing at each other. Both of them were slashing at each other, countering strike after strike. They were both looking for an opening on each other.
"Shigure Soen Ryu, First Form:Axle of Rain!"
Yozora charges at Wrath as high pressured water surrounds him and his sword. However, Wrath jumped in the air as Yozora impaled a tree instead.
"Nice try, but it will take more than that to defeat me."
Wrath lands on the ground as he slashed Yozora's back. The boy screamed in pain, but held his sword tightly. As Wrath looked at the boy he could've sworn he saw his eyes change for a moment.
"Breath of the Moon, Eighth Form:Moon-Dragon Ringtail!!!!!"
Yozora uses a direct frontal attack that creates single gigantic slash with numerous crescent chaotic blades accompanying it. Wrath jumps back to try to evade the attack, but was caught off guard when Yozora dashed around him.
"Shigure Soen Ryu, Eleventh Form:Swallow's Beak!!!!!!"
Yozora rapidly thrusts his sword numerous times towards Wrath, like a flock of attacking swallows. Wrath felt his legs, arms, and chest being pierced in a fast pace. Though when Yozora thrust his sword again, Wrath caught the blade and stabbed Yozora in his gut.
"I admit it was tricky at first, but after seeing your technique for a while i was able to find an opening."
"Greed was right, you really are a monster. Though i can't lose, i have people waiting for me to come back. So i can't let myself die here!!!!!"
The demon looked at Yozora. The boy was sincere in what he said, he meant every word. However, Wrath felt a sinister presence inside the boy. He wanted to draw it out, but at the same time, he felt doing so would bring nothing but chaos.
"Tell me. Why is it you swing your sword?"
".....because i want to protect everyone. To save everyone in front of me."
"Hmmm, you hesitated for a bit. Could it be that you already failed to save someone?"
Yozora's eyes widen as his mind instantly thought of Tasuke, Akame, and Muramasa. They all died and he couldn't do anything to save them.
"If you are a hero, then i am a king. They're the same in the end. They both fight for others, but only one of them has any real power and impact on people. Young man, there is no such thing as a hero. No matter how many people they save, no many how many battles they fought, a hero will always be betrayed by his ideals and the very people he wants to save."
Wrath charged at Yozora with his sword in hand. Seeing this Yozora calmed down and focused on the fight. Just when Wrath swung his sword he was already prepared to defend himself.
"Shigure Soen Ryu, Second Form:Rolling Rain."
Yozora creates multiple waves of water around him and crouches whilst holding his sword vertically before himself as a method of defense. Wrath's blade didn't reached Yozora's flesh, so he used his sword to fling dirt into the boy's eyes.
"Dammit........."
"This is a fight to the death. Fairness and chivalry have no place here!"
Wrath stabs his sword into Yozora's gut and then punched his head into the ground. Yozora grunts in pain as he kicks Wrath in the chest.
"Breath of the Moon,First Form:Dark Moon-Evening Palace!!!!!"
Immediately after he kicked Wrath, Yozora draws his sword and slashes swiftly in a single motion; like with all Breath of the Moon techniques, numerous chaotic crescent shaped blades originate from the slash. Wrath couldn't dodge from the position he was in and found his whole body being sliced by Yozora's attack.
"I can't hold back. If i go easy on him even once i'll die. I need to keep him away while Greed goes after Pride."
"I must say, i have fought many demon slayers before. Yet despite my experience, you seem to have something that sets you in a different league than others. If so i must use all my strength."
Soon Wrath took off the eye patch that was on his left eye. His eye revealed some mark on it, but Yozora could tell it was dangerous.
"Now the real battle shall begin."
~With Greed~
Greed is seen running ahead to the hideout where Pride is. Suddenly he jumped onto the trees as several shadows erupt from the ground.
"Heh. So Pride is already aware. That makes things difficult."
Greed is hopping from tree to tree. He soon used his Ultimate Shield to block various strikes from Pride's shadow.
"Dammit, Pride really is playing for keeps. Though he was probably betting on Wrath to keep me occupied. That kid better not die, i have everything riding on him."
~With Yozora and Wrath~
Yozora was trying to dodge Wrath's strike, but Wrath's attacks seem faster and even more accurate. Yozora spun his body and swung his sword, only for Wrath to block his blade with the sheath of his own sword.
"Shigure Soen Ryu, Tenth Form:Clash of Swallow!!!!!"
Yozora becomes coated in high amounts of water as he charged at Wrath with great speed and power. Wrath saw that as Yozora was charging at him, the trees and the ground were being torn apart. When Yozora was just a few feet away from him, Wrath jumped into the air and stabs his blade into Yozora's back.
"Perhaps i was wrong about you. You have power, but you seem to be missing something. At least you never have to worry about protecting everyone. In the end you saved no one, so you may as well be powerless. After all, a hero who saves no one has no right to exist."
Wrath kicks Yozora into a tree. As Yozora was catching his breath, Wrath swung down his sword and slashed the boy's chest.
As Yozora felt blood dripping on his body, his mind was drifting back to four years ago. He was reminiscing on something he was told when he was training.
~Flashback~
"Listen brat, you got potential but you lack experience."
The swordsmith Sengo Muramasa was looking at the ten year old boy that he just took in. Yozora looked at the swordsmith. He knew he was right and that he was weak. Soon Muramasa sat down next to him.
"Whenever i face an opponent who is stronger and has more experience, all i can do is fight with all i have and remember what i'm fighting for."
"Muramasa-san, how do you focus on what you fight for when your life is at stake."
"Heh, listen up brat. It's all about instincts. When you have something worth fighting for, your body will react on its own. Demon slayers are the blades humanity wields against demons. So since you have no experience and power, just focus on being the sharpest blade you can."
Yozora looked at the swordsmith. Soon he smiled as the swordsmith pats his head. After that was done the swordsmith is getting up.
"Well if you ever doubt yourself just remember this phrase. I use to say it to myself whenever i needed to draw more strength for myself when i need it most. My body......."
~Flashback ends~
Wrath is getting closer to Yozora's body. As he brought his sword and swung the blade, he was surprised when Yozora blocked the blade with the sheath to his sword. Wrath jumped back as he could tell something within Yozora changed.
As Yozora gets up, Wrath noticed something different about the boy. He felt a chilling and silent vibe from the boy. As Yozora looked at the demon with a cold glare, Wrath was now surprised as he saw the look in Yozora's eyes. He was even more surprised when Yozora suddenly slashed his chest with his sword.
Yozora puts his sword on his shoulder. Both his blade and his face were stained with blood but his focus was on the enemy before him. After a moment of silence, Yozora spoke with a calm but cold voice.
"........is made of blades."
