I hummed a bit to myself as I slowly and methodically climbed the side of the rocky incline, using the handholds someone made most likely years ago. I was told by a mysteriously small child that a pool of healing liquids was at the top of a mountain surrounded by traps. At first I thought she was joking around to try and mess with me, but so far the map had been correct, even when it came to mythological obstacles. I've had to fight a huge wolf, get directions from the ghost of a root beer detective, and trick a robot into getting stuck on a living piece of jelly before kicking it over another, smaller cliff. To be short, today has been a very weird day.
(Y/n)'s Mind: And it's not even breakfast yet. I'll need a long nap after this.
I sighed and continued to climb up onto the cliff before I immediately got to the top of a cliff, only to find a small lake surrounding a small patch of land with a fancy and ornate-looking cup filled with the liquid in the center of it.
(Y/n): All this hassle for a silly chalice? What a letdown.
I backed up a bit to the edge and took a large running jump, just barely landing on the edge of the small piece of ground in the center of the pure and mint green pond. Quickly steadying myself and making my way towards the sophisticated-looking container before what looked like a furry paw stretched out and snatched away before my hands could grasp it.
(Y/n): What the-?!
???: Sorry honey~! We need this a lot more than you do!
Quickly unsheathing my sword, I turned to the origin of the voice with the intention of taking back my prize before being met with a girl around my age sitting on top of a gigantic and stretchy cat.
(Y/n)'s Mind: Well that's something you don't see every day.
???: Hey there! Sorry about that, but we were told to come here and we can't just let you take this! This is the best one!
(Y/n): Who are you?!
???: I don't see why we should-
Fionna: My name is Fionna, and this is my cat and best friend, Cake!
Cake: Fionna!!
Fionna: What? He seems like a nice guy! Plus he is the guy from the picture!
(Y/n)'s Mind: She has a picture of me? Well that's not creepy at all...
Contemplating the situation, I considered simply grabbing any of the surrounding liquids, considering that they said that the chalice was the best one, and not the only one. Anything was better than sticking around here and seeing what they were going to do.
(Y/n): So it's nice to meet you, but I really must be going so I can deliver this. So see y-
Fionna: I don't think so! Cake don't let him get away!
Cake: Alright, if you're sure, then I'll trust you!
(Y/n): Crap!!
I bolted towards the edge and jumped off, taking out one of my ice axes that I had taken in preparation for an upcoming snow expedition and slamming it into the rock with all my strength, slowing my fall but causing a sharp and painful sensation to enter my arm. I bit back the urge to scream as I unhooked the other axe from my belt and quickly swung it at the rock, causing it to get implanted alongside the other one.
(Y/n)'s Mind: Phew. Now I can take time to form a plan before-
Fionna: There he is!
I looked up to see the strange girl hanging onto her cat while they swung off the edge and started making their way over to me.
(Y/n)'s Mind: Why can't I have a magical animal that can stretch?! It would make climbing things much easier!
I grunt and try to descend from the ship with the axes, but almost immediately I was scooped by the cat, pulling me closer to her face as if to get a better look at me. Her fur reeked of expensive perfume and vanilla ice cream as she appeared to glare at me through her large, feline eyes. I didn't think I'd be scared of a gigantic non-lion cat, and yet here we are.
Cake: Now listen up! You're coming with us and you're gonna tell me about all this picture nonsense, whether you like it or not! Do you understand me, Indiana Jones?!
(Y/n): You think I know what's going on?! I just met you guys today and you're kidnapping me!
Fionna: No more talking! Let's take him home! And to make sure he doesn't keep struggling...
She gripped her sword tightly and before I could protest, I felt a large blunt impact on my forehead and everything went dark.
(TIMESKIP)
(Y/n)'s Mind: Ow.... My head is killing me...
I weakly opened my eyes, closing them quickly when I heard the sound of arguing nearby that was gradually getting closer and closer until my two captors were in the room, unleashing a flurry of loud insults towards each other as it seemed the cat was berating the girl who had knocked me out. I tried to move, but I found that my arms and legs had been bound with rope and I was able to go anywhere.
Cake: Girl, you have really lost your mind now!
Fionna: Come on, Cake! It's not that bad! This is my one true love! Why can't you understand that?!
Cake: Because you freaking kidnapped him! This isn't Ice Queen, who you can just beat up whenever you want!
Fionna: You're always telling me to go out with Marshall Lee or Prince Gumball, and now that I have something I want, you're acting like this?!
Cake: Say what you want, but I'm letting him go and there's nothing you can do to stop me!
I tried not to move as the footsteps of whom I presumed to be the cat got closer to me and I felt hands fiddling with my restraints. I twitched a bit in reflex and she stopped, turning to whisper into my ear and almost making me shiver from the close proximity.
Cake: Just hold on. I'll get you out of here in no time!
Fionna: ...
I tried to remain still and allow the cat to untie me, only to be tackled to the ground with the chair by Fionna, who quickly got up and kicked back her feline friend as I groaned and rolled out of the seat, groaning in pain from the fall as I quickly got up thanks to being untied and watched as Fionna was taking swings at her cat with her sword, presumably to kill her while Cake was doing her best to avoid the blade and restrain the blue-clad adventurer. Unfortunately, even I could tell that she was having trouble as Fionna was slowly landing cuts on her arms and torso while Cake was actively trying not to hurt the blonde girl.
Cake: Just settle down, girl! You're being crazy!
Fionna: Shut up! SHUT- GAHHHH!!!!
With a quick move that was extremely difficult to pull off with a headache that threatened to rip my head apart, I grabbed the chair that had been previously used to imprison me and tossed it at the psychotic adventurer right when she managed to stab the sword into her friend, causing her to gasp and shout in pain while the girl groaned and fell over. I quickly ran to scoop up the fluffy cat in my arms before making a break for the door. Now I don't know if you were asking, but running through a freaky treehouse with a headache and a wounded cat in your arms is extremely difficult. I had to climb down ladders, make my way through the messy jungle that was scattered frying pans and buried treasure, all the while I could hear the screaming Fionna coming at us, practically foaming at the mouth from the way she was sounded.
Fionna: Get back here dammit! I just want to love you, for the love of glob!
(Y/n)'s Mind: I really need a career change...!
I finally managed to get outside as I quickly went to hide around the side of the treehouse.
Cake: G-Gahh... She got me... Can't believe...
(Y/n): Don't speak. She'll find us...
Fionna: Too late!!
I shout as she suddenly tackled the both of us down, and instead of going for me, she held her friend down and aimed a sword at her neck while keeping her eyes on me with a crazed smirk on her face.
Fionna: Just try running! I will kill her just have you!
Cake: F-Fionna?!
Fionna: SHUT UP! Make your choice or I'll make it for you!
I froze up a bit and gulped softly, unsure of what to do. I could probably get away and tell someone who could help, but that would mean leaving the person to help me to die. I sighed softly, knowing what I had to do.
(Y/n): Ok... Just don't hurt her, ok..? Please...
Fionna: Good choice!
She quickly knocked out the white cat and gripped her sword as she made her way over to me and pulled me into the kiss while keeping the sword close to my neck to make sure that I couldn't just pull away until she had finally broke away from my lips and smiled up at me.
Fionna: Now are you going to stay with me, or am I gonna have to skin my best friend to show my devotion?
(Y/n): ...I'll stay.
She smiles and picks up Cake, taking her back inside while looking back to make sure that I was following behind her, as if giving me a subtle warning to play nice. It was unnecessary. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to escape at the moment, but I wasn't just going to give up. I don't care how long it takes, I was going to find a way.

I know that usually I would follow up the end of this story with one of Chibi Kai's crazy shenaningans, but I just want to take the time to say thank you for every one person who takes time out of their days to read these stories. I know I go a long while without updating, and I know that these stories aren't exactly the deepest and most complicated of literature. I chose to write this to give those of you who struggle to make it through the days even before everything that has been going on lately a distraction from the harsh reality of life. And many of you are probably going to skip past this, and that's okay I understand that, but for the few of you who read this story and feel the weight lifted off your shoulders even a little bit, for those of you who think about your reason for existing in a painful world and can't think of anything right now,
Don't be afraid to get back up when the world is tries to force you into the dirt. You'll be surprised that many others are in the hole with you and will work with you to get out if you let them.
Once again, thank you everyone and no, I'm not dying or anything like that. I just want you all to know that you have been noticed, something that I know people really need sometimes.
