'YOU'LL BE MY BABY BOY'
Pacing outside the waiting room, I hated the waiting.
It felt like forever since I had heard any news.
It was forever since I had seen someone who could help me.
"Mel," I heard my husband's voice as I turned my head at him.
He'd just arrived back from Japan, catching the first flight he could. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my hair, a smile crossing my lips. "I've missed you," I told him as I looked up at him. I had missed him, I had missed his stupid face, missed his touch and the way he made me feel whenever I looked at him.
"Any news on...?" He looked towards the door to the ward.
I sighed as I pulled away from his grip, "I haven't heard anything for a while."
Daniel kissed me on the forehead before he walked away. Knowing he was going to find out some information.
Sitting on the chair, I leaned my head against the wall as I stared at the ceiling.
"Mrs Ricciardo?"
Jumping to my feet, I looked at the doctor who had just entered the room. "Yes?"
"Would you like to come and meet your son?"
"It's a boy?" My world seemed to stop for a moment as the tears brimmed my eyes.
The doctor nodded at me as I heard the door open before Daniel came to my side. "What's going on?" He looked over at me, his face dropped. "What's happened, Mel?"
"It's a boy," I told him as I smiled widely through the tears.
"A boy?" He repeated as his curled into the biggest smile before he wrapped his arms around my tiny frame. "We've got a son," he sounded so excited as he jumped a little whilst still holding me. "We're parents, we have a son!" He pressed his lips against mine before he shook the doctor's hand, "Let's meet our son."
