CHAPTER 34

She really shouldn't have felt this giddy at seeing a single stem of purple lilac on her desk for the 3rd day in a row since Monday and it was currently a Wednesday. She shouldn't have felt butterflies in her stomach when her friends teased her about it every morning. But Chaeyoung couldn't help it. She was trying to stay strong and unimpressed here but failing miserably. It felt like she was a high school student getting giddy over a crush. She smiles at it anyway, picking the purple lilac up and bringing it up to her nose to take a sniff of its essence and sitting down between Lisa and Jihyo as they waited for their first period professor to come in.

Honestly it wasn't her fiancé's fault that she was basically sculpted by the gods and sent to earth to torture mere fickle humans like herself. But last Friday it was the last straw for the blonde's sensitive heart when she sat in class watching Minatozaki Sana stand and giggle at Jennie for a solid 20 minutes as her fiancé was conducting a gruelling recitation during their class period. Sana wasn't a bad person per say, she was just naturally a giggly girl. She had long legs that could go on for days, blonde hair like Chaeyoung, a pointed nose that was seemingly perfect, eyes that could smoulder into anyone's heart and a hot body. The girl was practically sex on legs.

So really, it wasn't Chaeyoung's fault if she felt a little bit pissed at the way Sana eyed Jennie from head to toe. Or the way Sana fiddled with the ends of her hair as she tried to think of an answer to Jennie's hard recitation questions. It wasn't Chaeyoung's fault either that she basically gave Jennie the cold shoulder for the past 5 days since last Friday claiming that she was just on her period that's why she's grumpy and maybe extra sassy. But bless Jennie's oblivious heart because the girl just took Chaeyoung's answer as it is and showered the younger girl with so much affection it actually made Jihyo and Lisa gag from all the cheesiness.

Since Monday morning, Jennie has been sneaking into the younger girl's lecture hall to leave a single stem of a flower on her fiancé's desk in hopes of dissipating the blonde's irritableness. It worked but each and every day she would eventually catch the Japanese goddess, Minatozaki Sana, somehow talking or interacting with Jennie. Chaeyoung did overhear that since the Japanese girl was late for the early semester that she needed extra homework and projects to keep up with the lectures which meant that Sana needed to talk to each and every professor that she had to get some homework and paperwork done not just Jennie. She'd hate to admit it but she really had no logical reason to be jealous of Sana.

Jihyo did say that it wasn't Sana's fault and as much as Chaeyoung didn't want to admit it but yes the Japanese girl wasn't to blame if she was seeking out Jennie for the past week or so. She just couldn't help it really. She wasn't a jealous person but she did have her moments. And this. This was a very very very big moment. Chou Tzuyu wasn't fairing well either, the younger girl waiting for the right moment to reciprocate Sana's obvious staring and clinginess. The cold maknae of the group just officially caught feelings for the girl but wasn't too pleased when she would see Sana with something else that wasn't her.

Chaeyoung loved her fiancé to death but sometimes her pretty little head didn't pick up when she was jealous, not that she wanted her to pick up the signs. Okay maybe she did but she didn't want it to be spoon fed to Jennie that Chaeyoung was being a little brat because of petty jealousy. She loved how Jennie responded to her being irritable and grumpy lately though so she just savoured the moment of being a little brat to the young CEO, even through Jennie's obliviousness, she was still so sweet and it made Chaeyoung want to jump her bones. It was a Wednesday and the 3rd day of Chaeyoung's so called "period" as she explained to Jennie. So it was also the 3rd day of her receiving a flower on her desk with a cute sticky note on it for good measure.

She recalled the last 2 times she received a flower from her fiancé. Last Monday she waltzed into her lecture hall 10 minutes before class started and she found the first flower that Jennie left. It was a beautiful orange Gerbera with a cute yellow sticky note on its stem. So Chaeyoung timidly sat on her desk before picking up the note confusedly to see which idiot gave her a flower knowing she was engaged to the most powerful CEO in the country. Apparently that idiot was none other than her oblivious dumpling of a fiancé. She read the note and couldn't help but crack a small smile through her permanent pout that's been plastered on her face since last Friday.

Did you know that flowers have meanings? Gerberas symbolize cheerfulness. I hope to see your cute chipmunk cheeks puff out this week again, Love. Despite you being in a grumpy mood because of your period I hope to see your cheerful glow come back after it goes away. I hope this cheers you up on a Monday morning.

Needless to say, Chaeyoung fell deeper in love with her fiancé and actually contemplated if she was going to tell the girl that she really wasn't on her period. She was just being a needy baby and got jealous over a hot Japanese girl. But before she could approach Jennie when she saw her in the halls of course Miss Minatozaki Sana came waltzing towards her fiancé asking if she read her email about the project she sent. So Chaeyoung just huffed and marched her way towards the cafeteria and got teased by her friends for being such a needy brat.

The next day was a busy Tuesday morning as Jennie once again scheduled a recitation in her class and even though her class was on the 2nd period, everyone was on their toes since the bell rang signalling their 1st period starting. And of course Chaeyoung was nervous as hell. The girl was her fiancé, yes, but she didn't do favourites in class so she still had a good chance of being grilled by Jennie during recitation. Jennie, being the witty person that she is, left a stem of a single Iris on Chaeyoung's desk. Lisa actually saw Jennie leave it there and with a smirk, the dancer ran outside towards her locker and practically dragged Chaeyoung into the lecture hall to show the girl her desk. As usual, Chaeyoung set her bag down first and sat on her chair before lifting the flower up and taking a small sniff before picking the orange sticky note beside it and read it out loud because her friends who had no sense of personal boundaries were peering over her shoulder giddily asking what was written on it.

Iris, symbolizing wisdom, faith and hope. I know we studied about the recitation I'm going to give today so I hope you do well. Despite you still giving me sort of a cold shoulder, I actually find it cute that you're being a little brat. My smart, pretty and grumpy little brat I hope you do well later. Fighting!

Ignoring the squealing and jumping of Jihyo, Mina and Lisa behind her, Chaeyoung blushed like a little virgin girl and carefully placed the stem in her handbag making sure the flower poked out in order for it to not be squeezed. Needless to say, she was quite awed at how patient her fiancé was being and she very much enjoyed being swooned by the girl. She actually planned on giving Jennie a sweet kiss on the lips after class but again, Minatozaki Sana was called for recitation via index card shuffling and again the Japanese goddess was twirling her blonde hair and giggling in nervousness at her fiancé for a solid 20 minutes like she did Friday last week. She now knew that Sana giggles when she's nervous. She didn't want to admit it but it was kind of cute but considering that she's being a little jealous brat she found Sana's giggles so infuriating. So Chaeyoung was silently fuming in her seat with Mina's hand on her arm just in case Chaeyoung got crazy and pounced on her fellow Japanese classmate. In retrospect, Chaeyoung shouldn't have been fuming at Sana since she wasn't doing anything bad really. But again, when it comes to Jennie, she really couldn't help it.

Which lead to today, Chaeyoung gave Jennie an extra cold shoulder last night causing the CEO to just chuckle at her and cuddle her more to her chest. "Oh my baby Chaeyoungie being grumpy again? Come here let me try and dissipate your anger." Chaeyoung remembered how she just scoffed against Jennie's vibrating chest as the older girl wrapped her in a hug and laughed at her for being extra grumpy. But she let her fiancé shower her with hugs and kisses anyway because hell she wouldn't protest to having Jennie's attention focused solely on her petty ass.

Today was a Wednesday and despite Chaeyoung believing that Jennie was an oblivious imbecile, the older girl had actually caught on to Chaeyoung's jealousy since the last Monday after she left a flower on Chaeyoung's desk and went to Jisoo for advice. Jisoo slapped her head in her office and saying rather harshly to her, "Yah Pabo! Chaengie's jealous of Sana. She kept glaring at her even during my class and Lisa texted me about it." On a normal day, she would've teased Jisoo for texting Lisa but she was actually giddy at the fact that Chaeyoung was being a little brat because she was jealous. So she decided to continue on giving the girl flowers every morning.

The blonde girl was currently sat on her desk again with Lisa on her left and Jihyo on her right with Mina beside her cousin. They were all staring at her with shit eating grins watching as Chaeyoung blushed like a highscooler and lifted a single stem of purple lilac from her desk. It was beautiful, the purple lilac smelled nice too. With it was the usual sticky note. Chaeyoung took the baby pink sticky note and read it to herself with curious eyes.

Purple Lilacs symbolize first love. You, my love, will remain to be my first and last love. No need to be jealous.

Chaeyoung's jaw dropped as her heart raced and red tinted her whole face. Her heart was racing and beating so fast it might actually jump out of her body due to Jennie being so good with words. At the same time, she was utterly embarrassed knowing that the CEO knew she was being a little jealous brat all along. She heard her friends roar in laughter beside her but all she could focus on was the cute little note in her hand as her heart beat faster than ever. Jennie Kim definitely had her ways and she just got caught like a deer in head lights. Fortunately for her, Jennie didn't have a class with her today so she might actually try and avoid the girl to save her from embarrassment and being teased. Jennie was never going to let her live this down. So she did her best throughout the day to avoid Jennie in the halls while her friends snickered beside her like the little devils that they are.

Chaeyoung successfully made it to lunch time and still no embarrassing confrontation with her ever so smug fiancé. She wanted more time to gather her logic till later tonight when she eventually needed to admit to Jennie that yes she was being a little brat because she was jealous. For now, she just enjoyed the usual ruckus of her friends at their lunch table with Lisa running around them trying to escape Joy as they both fought over the last piece of jokbal. Jihyo was rubbing her temples trying to calm her headache from scolding the two idiots from running and Mina was silently chuckling at the scene in front of her. When the two finally got tired and sat in their seats they saw Dahyun sit in front of her with a mustache and weird glasses like it was a normal day. Jihyo, the ever so observant mother of the group who was sitting beside Chaeyoung reached across the table and slapped Dahyun's head causing the younger girl to yelp. "What in the world are you wearing Kim Dahyun?"

Dahyun just rubbed her head and pouted at their Student Council President which made the older girl blush as she stared at Dahyun's pouty lips. "I just got done from acting class and I played as a guy! Don't you all think I'm actually an attractive man?" the younger girl then proceeded to touch her beard and play with her old man glasses making the table burst into laughter. Joy and Mina who were both sitting beside Dahyun couldn't look at the girl as they grabbed their tummies from laughing too much. "You look like a dumbass. A white tofu dumbass." Yeri who was on the other side of Chaeyoung wheezed as she laughed at their musical genius.

"Why'd you agree to act as the guy anyway?" Tzuyu who was seated beside Jihyo asked after laughing while wiping her tears from too much laughter. The white tofu just shrugged and a small hopeful smile crept onto her face as she not-so-subtlely stared at Jihyo. "Because I know my crush is straight as a pole and maybe if I dressed like a guy then she would maybe take a little notice of me and my existence."

The group's laughter died down as they all watched in amusement as Dahyun and Jihyo stared at each other for god knows how long with an air of sexual tension between them. Joy and Lisa just stared at each other with knowing smirks. Cutting the staring context and palpable sexual tension, the bell rang and everyone dispersed towards their next classes. Lisa, Jihyo, Mina and Chaeyoung who were all on the same year level went towards the huge practice room located at the 7th floor of the academic building. They were all giddy and excited for this particular class, it was vocal lessons that was taught by Miss Park Bom. Today was a rather exciting day as their assignment was to perform a song in front of everyone. See, it would've been a mundane activity for any other university but to them, who were trainees/students they were a lot more competitive at this so everyone tried to gather all their charisma and vocal prowess to woo the class and their professor. Nothing but perfection will come out of these halls, as Jennie once told her.

The room was a professional practice room that was common in entertainment companies and Jennie being a co-owner of one, made sure to have multiple practice rooms in her campus. It was a huge room, larger than most, big enough to fit a whole class. On one side was a fully furnished mirrored wall that reflected the whole room. The walls were soundproof and high end speakers were installed in every corner of the room to get the full effect of the music. Professional lighting adorned the ceiling and the expensive wood flooring glistened as they stepped inside. The students all sat against the back so that their reflections were seen through the mirrored walls as they all sat on the clean floor in front of Park Bom who was standing in front back to the mirror as she watched her students pile into the huge room. The only lights turned on were the lights that were above the mirrored wall thus illuminating light to the person who stood in front of the mirrors. Their professor had a stone cold expression on her face, as every professor had, and waited as her students all sat down.

"Alright, each of you will perform a song in front and I need to see progress from all of you. No awkward silences, off tunes, un-hit notes and the likes. I'll be grading you as usual with vocals, instruments if you do use any, stage presence, facial expression and of course charisma. Some of the professors of your acting and instrument classes and some others will be dropping by so don't embarrass yourselves."

Miss Bom can't actually see the students who were seated against the wall since the lights didn't reach that far back but she made sure that everyone was on top of their game. One by one, almost half the students have performed and Chaeyoung could see her classmates' progress due to training and her competitive spirit ignited. She actually didn't prepare a song till last night since she was the type to sing whatever song fit her current situation so she just went with whatever song she related to as of the moment. Chaeyoung silently sang along with her cousin as Jihyo stood in front of the class singing. Her cousin really did know how to woo a crowd as her voice bounced off the walls and delighted all of them. Jihyo bowed with a content smile as the class erupted into applause and the girl walked back and sat back down beside Chaeyoung. The younger one of the cousins giving Jihyo a well-deserved hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Next, Park Rosé"

Chaeyoung stood up and walked towards the side of the room to grab a stool and a mic stand. She set up the stool in front of the class and grabbed a guitar at the side. She let herself be comfortable on the stool as she adjusted her mic stand and placed the guitar securely on her lap. She started strumming the guitar and closed her eyes to let the melody surround her. The room was perfect for this occasion since the music bounced off the walls. Soon enough the tune of 'Officially Missing You' filled the room and everybody was swaying with melody.

Chaeyoung thought of the past 5 days of her being an incessant brat and her heart swelled more for her fiancé. The girl being the perfect fiancé and showering her with love and affection even though she was basically just being a brat to her. She even denied both of them from having sex since she was being really petty and she couldn't help but smile wider as she remembered Jennie pouting and groaning like it was the end of the world.

What she didn't notice was her fiancé slipping quietly inside the practice room door and placing herself on a high stool beside Park Bom who was also seated beside the door. It was slightly dim from where Jennie was seated so just a small amount of students really noticed her presence.

All I hear is raindrops

Falling on the rooftop

Chaeyoung smirked, feeling confident about herself as she heard her classmates clap to the beat. She exuded both confidence and charm and no one would even dare try to say otherwise.

Oh baby tell me

Why'd you have to go

Cause this pain I feel won't go away

She opened her eyes and almost stuttered as she saw her fiancé smiling at her from beside her professor but she never lost her cool. Her cheeks suddenly went all red but she stayed in the zone as she smiled gave Jennie a small smile as her eyes focused solely on the girl. They were practically giving each other the heart eyes which made Chaeyoung's confidence boost up knowing the object of her affection was in the room.

And today, I'm officially missing you

Ooh ain't nobody

Do it like you

She smirked at this as she stared at Jennie knowing the girl would react to her singing this line towards her. As expected, she saw the CEO's eyes darken.

I said every little thing you do

Hey baby said it stays on my mind

And I, I'm officially

Missing you

She finished singing and was met with a loud round of applause with a couple of whoops here and there. She saw Jennie quietly slip her way out of the room as she bowed and smiled before making her way back to a smirking Jihyo, a hyperventilating Lisa and a blushing Mina all staring at her as she sat down with them. "Eye sex in class? Really? That's a new level for you Chipmunk." Mina said timidly as she fanned herself to try and erase what she had just seen in front of her. Her innocent penguin eyes are burning from all the sexual tension. Chaeyoung just blushed in her seat returning to her original shy persona.

The day went by swiftly after that and Chaeyoung found herself walking towards the parking lot with her friends and laughing as, yet again, Lisa was being chased by Jihyo for pulling a prank during class giving all of the students another extra project to be submitted by Friday. Her eyes left the duo and landed on her fiancé who was leaning against her car as she patiently waited for Chaeyoung to walk closer to her. The blonde bid her friends farewell as she timidly stepped in front of a smirking Jennie Kim. Jennie's smug look was enough for Chaeyoung to blush in embarrassment and shuffle her feet. "I loved your song earlier." Jennie said with all the smugness coming out of her mouth and really Chaeyoung deserved to be teased to death for being a jealous little brat.

"Did my grumpy jealous baby have a nice day?" Jennie tried again but now she placed her hand on top of Chaeyoung's head and ruffled her hair as she watched the girl groan in embarrassment and surge forward to bury her face in Jennie's chest. Jennie wrapped her arms around Chaeyoung and laughed in delight as she felt the girl pinch her side. Chaeyoung mumbled something out but Jennie couldn't understand it since the girl's face was still buried in her chest and was muffled by her clothes. So she kissed the younger girl's temple and whispered in her ear. "Didn't hear you chipmunk."

Chaeyoung lifted her head and stared at Jennie with puppy dog eyes and her cheeks puffing out. "I said thank you for the flowers, you idiot"

Jennie threw her head back and laughed whole heartedly. Chaeyoung rarely cursed or badmouth her but in the rare moments that she tries to sound menacing, she just ends up looking cuter than ever. Jennie's laughter died down and she saw Chaeyoung's pout deepen so she pinched the girl's cheeks unable to resist her aegyo. "I'll always be your idiot. Always."

Chaeyoung blushed harder and wrapped her arms around Jennie's waist as she buried her face in the crook of the older girl's neck. She felt Jennie wrap her arms around her shoulders pulling her flush against the CEO and she couldn't help but smile against her fiancé's skin.

"You better be."
