Do you ever wish too leave your worries behind? Free of the chains that hold you back. No need too stress over the past, present or future. Free of the shackles that weigh you down. Being able to roam the world with a light heart. All feelings of guilt, sorrow and pain forgotten. Oh how many wish for that. But alas, it never can come true. That is reality for you.

--------------------------

His feet pounded the tarmac with all the grace of a sack of wet concrete, the springing graceful steps of twenty miles earlier had long since disappeared. His rasping throat was as parched as a dead lizard in the desert sun. His head bobbed loosely from side to side with each footfall and his eyes felt heavy in their sockets.

And he ran, like the winter breeze colliding into inanimate objects and crashing waves hitting the shore line. Like eagles soaring across indigo skies and a herd of cheetahs racing through verdant meadows. His long, ash coloured locks whipped back and forth behind him like a fiery tale as he flung himself over sharp rocks and heavy tree trunks.

He didn't know where he was nor did he know where he was heading. He had no idea what time it was and he had no clue what day. All he knew was he had to keep running forward. Not stopping for anything.

He wheezes as her burning lungs gasp for air. His legs feel numb and unsteady, painfully sore. His throat feels dry, so uncomfortably dry. Long locks of amethyst hair cling to his sweaty neck, no different that if she run through a rain-storm.

How did Lucia get into this situation. To know you'll have to rewind time to know how it happened.

Lucia Mooncrest POV

I was whispering a soft tune beneath my breath as the cool wind ruffles my messy locks of lilac hair. But unfortunately for me my peace was interrupted by a certain porcupine.

"Piece of crap. Get your ass over here and get me a glass of water." He orders me as if owns the house. I couldn't help but sigh. What right does he have to order me around? Last time I didn't listen to him it became a warzone. I could feel shivers being sent down my spine as I remember that incident. But I shake it off like a dog fresh out of the bath.

I go to the kitchen and fetch a glass of water and hand it to the bossy child. With that I leave before I hear anymore complaints. I decide to go put to a secluded area. Ever since I met Abanus I haven't been able to practice the magic powers I acquired from experimentation. Whenever I remember the hell hole, I can't help but think of that red-haired child. The first person I talked to in this strange world.

The experience, the pain, everything I felt at that prison was terrible. If he wasn't there I don't think I would have been able to handle the isolation. I might have gone crazy. The sheer thought of what might have happened to me if I stayed there terrified me.

The soft lush green grass and leaves crunch beneath my feet as I make my way up the steep mountain. The mountain is pristine and white, even the dark green of the pines is mostly coated in the crystalline snow. I could stand here drinking it all in, listening to the silence that hangs so thickly in the frigid air. But I must keep moving to stay warm.

The mountain path ahead was loose rock, each one washed smooth by the river that once ran freely over them. Thickly dark green boughs arched over the path from each side, competing for the light. Under their dappled shade the harshness of the midday sun was muted but it did little to make the steep incline any easier. I lifted my eyes to the distance ahead. After rising sharply for a way it simply turned out of view, likely carrying on in just the same way.

Moss and lichen covered boulders sprawled in the rockery of mother nature. There was no trace of civilisation in this wilderness apart from a worn out path that snaked through the blanket of grass. Because my spirits were up high like the mountain I was keen to concur, I cared little about the wet mud that stuck to my boots and the backpack that dug into my shoulders.

Feeling my lungs bursting with fresh air, I observed the sunlight cascading down a gap of clouds into an azure blue lake. Around it the vegetation was lush with dew and resembled an ocean waving in the breeze.

My amethyst eyes opened wide as I was greeted with the spectacular view. I stared off into the distance. This place, it was so beautiful. It made I feel something deep within. I allowed my eyes to wonder along the small brown hills and valleys, following dry creek beds and bare trees. My eyes traced the line of the horizon and paused on the broad mountains towering above it. The jagged peaks of the snow-capped mountains caused a stirring in my soul.

I opened her eyes, and exhaled slowly, her breath clouding her view of the mountains. How truly beautiful and vast the earth was, I marvelled to myself. How truly good and powerful was the Creator who put the mountains in their place.

Then I remembered the goddess. So just forget everything I just said. I was sweating profusely; the cold weather did not help. The idea of climbing down the mountain made me curse to myself. Not only was it exhausting to climb up here, I also have to train my powers which will probably take up energy. And silly old me forgot to bring food. Well those are problems for later.

I feel the power within me surge as I begin my transformation. I could feel a light engulf my body. My eyelashes flutter open, I look down at my body to realise I was in an unfamiliar form. Last time I was in a emerald coloured outfit, now it's an ocean blue colour. My fingers trace the staff in my hand. It was cold to the touch. I could feel the sheer power exuding from it. I couldn't help but be in awe over it, as if I were staring at a present. I start waving it around like an idiot but nothing happened.

After many attempts they were all failures. I slump down, collapsing onto the floor as a sigh escapes my lips. I decide to try one last time. I closed my eyes trying to feel the power withing the weapon. Suddenly shots of ice shoot out causing me too fall back in surprise. My mouth was left agape as I stared at the destruction I caused.

"Whoops..." I stare at the fallen tree and dented rock walls.

"At least I can say it was cool." Suddenly my ears perk up, I hear a branch snap from behind me. My head snaps towards the direction, I was now fully alert.

"Who's there!" I shout trying to be brave, my voice wavers a little scared of the unknown. The grip on the staff I was holding tightened.

"Look what we have here. You'll sell for a hefty price with powers like that. How peculiar. I bet those old guy would pay a ton to get their hands on a treasure like you. Aren't I right sweetie~" A black cloaked figure pops out from behind the tree. His voice sent shivers down my spine.

I try and shoot an icicle towards the said male only for it to be destroyed easily. I take steps backwards. With each step I take back the cloaked figure steps forward. Why? Why does all of this keep happening to me?

I quickly sprint. My instincts told me to get as far away from that person. I forced my frozen feet to run, as if my life depended on it. Which it probably did. I could see him creeping from behind me. I create an ice barrier to by some time. But it was destroyed in mere seconds. Ice fragments scatter across the sky.

Tears blind me and I turn, running as quickly as my long legs can carry me, bolting down the alley way like an Olympic champion at the start gun; quickening my pace to an all out sprint. The pounding noise of my tennis shoes resonating off the walls of the alley with a clanging echo that matched my heart throbbing inside my chest with the thick grief and fear I felt as I ran. I yell curses in my yell. Then let out a loud scream as if it were a battle cry.

I could feel anime tears run down my face. How can I be so unlucky? Was it because I saw a black cat earlier today? No, I can't blame an adorable innocent cat. I guess I just have bad luck. Did I not accumulate any luck from my past life? I wipe the fake non-existent tears that come down my face. As if I were in some typical love drama.

Soon I was at the edge of the mountain. I glance down from below me, gulping in nervousness and fear, then I look up at my chaser who was creeping forwards slowly. It was like a game of cat and mouse. I squint my eyes to see water at the bottom of the cliff. I guess it's now or never.

"Later. Calabunger!" I salute as I say this, as I jump off the high cliff. I could see the male jump after me only to miss by a few inches.

I plummet down, the harsh wind blowing into my face. I close my eyes crossing my fingers that I would be able to survive. I begin saying my will in my head. I remember Abanus, goodness won't he be angry and worried about me. I forgot to tell where I was going too. I bet he hates me now.  Also feisty boy is going to exploding with anger with his 'servant' gone. I only met him like a month ago.

Yet again am I leaving someone. If only I wasn't so retarded.

 If only....

If only.............

He was here.

Then I wouldn't be in this situation, then I wouldn't be such a hot mess. Then I wouldn't feel so empty and hurt. Then I wouldn't feel so alone.

I fall into the cool water, allowing the river to take me somewhere. Who knows where, to my death, Antarctica. Or to meet him again. At this point I was crying a river, get it cause I'm in river. I am so funny at times. I could feel my consciousness fade into a dream like state. Only fate can take me to where I'm going.
