This morning we all went to breakfast at a restaurant on the boardwalk of the beach. While everybody else talked, making fun of Akira and her stomach ache last night, I quietly ate my food
"Egypt you good?"
I looked up at Mrs Angie and nodded "yes ma'am. I'm good"
"She probably ready to hit the beach like me. I been working hard on my beach body now it's time to show it off" Akira spoke and Christian sucked his teeth
"Ain showing shit off" he muttered to himself so Akira rolled her eyes
"How many times ima tell you. You ain't my daddy"
"Ion care how many times you say it"
"Alright y'all two"
They both exchanged glares while I just continued to eat
"Well tell Christian he need to stop worrying about me. Ready to tell somebody to stop dressing and acting like a hoe when he Ain no better" Akira fussed as she rolled her neck and Christian slouched back in his seat shaking his head
I tried not to pay attention to him but once I looked at him, my eyes concentrated on him. I can't even lie and say that I wasn't attracted to him now; Maybe it just took the second time for me to realize it. Christian licked his lips before looking at Akira making a face
"Cause you think that mess cute and it ain't"
"What? Me wanting to show off my body? If I'm happy with how my body look why is it an issue that I wanna show it off"
"Cause you ain grown"
"I'm 16! Chill out!"
"Christian does have a point Akira. You not grown yet... but still if she wants to wear a bathing suit then she can. As long as it looks appropriate I don't see an issue" Mrs Angie finally mediated the situation while her husband seemed to just ignore the whole thing, being that he was busy talking on the phone discussing work business
My phone vibrated twice on the table so I quickly picked it up to see a text message from Tremaine causing me to smile just reading his name alone
"That must be Tremaine gotchu smiling like that"
I looked up from my phone catching Akira's grin as she looked at me along with Christian's not so pleased face
"You and Tremaine be texting?"
"And here he go" Akira started up again while Mrs Angie laughed
"It's just friendly texting" I explained to Christian but it seemed not to make nothing better
"Ion believe that"
"Christian cool off on the girls and let them have fun" their dad finally spoke up with a chuckle
"Egypt know im just as protective over her as I am with Kira"
Christian eyed me so we just sat there awkwardly for a few seconds looking at each other before I just went back to eating
11:40 am
"So this boy texted me just now and asked me to come to his room on the 8th floor" Akira informed me as she fixed the back of her bathing suit top. We weren't going to the beach until 1:30 but she was already getting ready while I texted Tremaine
"Are you going?"
"Ion know. I think I might for a lil bit. He here with some friends too.. you wanna go?"
I shook my head "no I'm good"
"Oh I forgot you gotta lil boo now"
"He's not my boo.. yet"
Akira looked at me and I laughed
"Yeah tell that lie to somebody else. Don't let Christian stop you from riding that dick girl. You want it so get it"
She finished tying her top and looked in the mirror before grabbing her room key and headed to the door "I'll be back then"
"Have funnn"
She laughed while leaving the room
"The hell you going?" I could hear Christian ask as the door was closing before it was pushed back open and Akira replied with something smart causing him to kiss his teeth while he walked into the room. I looked up from my phone to see him walking in with his eyes on me
"Where Akira going?"
I shrugged while he walked over to my bed and snatched my phone from my hand while I was in the middle of reading Tremaine's message. After reading for a little bit he tossed it back onto the bed
"Them messages look friendly alright. Real friendly"
"Why does that matter to you?"
Christian looked me straight in my face "I asked you before about you and Tremaine. You steady beatin round the bush instead of giving me a straight answer"
"Why should I give you an answer Christian?" I asked as I uncrossed my legs and he sat on the side of my bed
"Don't act like you'on know wassup Egypt." Christian ran his hand down my bare leg and let out a small laugh "Tremaine my boy and all.... but ion play bout what belong to me"
I rolled my eyes "why are you in here?"
"Cause I came to warn yo ass. Leave Tremaine alone. And I'm being serious"
"Why? Because I finally found somebody that I like and you don't like it?"
"Nah. Because I know Tremaine"
"So do I"
"If that's Whatchu think" he chuckled before slapping my leg"
"You just wanna start up unnecessary drama"
"Nah I'm just telling you what I know. You think that nigga gone act the same way around his grandma that he do around his friends?"
"You act the same way around you parents and your friends so why can't he?"
"That's cause my people don't give a fuck. You know how his grandma is about him. Shit, you grew up with him so you know what he been through. That's why he gotta act like he got his shit together when he around her. Meanwhile that nigga ain no better than me"
I looked down at my phone seeing another message from Tremaine while Christian stood up
"Don't believe me if you don't want to. I'm just warning you"
He looked at my bathing suit that sat at the end of the bed before standing up and walked out of the room
4:40 pm
"Egypt you good?"
I zoned back in to look at her, watching her swipe the debit card her parents gave us to use as we walked around the outlet. After we left the beach they brought us here to have a little free time
"Yeah I'm okay.. I was just thinking.."
"Well you been thinking for a while now. You been zoning out since I left the room earlier. What did Christian tell you when he went in the room? It was about Tremaine ain it?"
I nodded and she sucked her teeth
"That nigga think he everybody daddy. What he said about Tremaine"
"He basically was saying I need to watch out for him"
Akira grabebed the bag from the cashier along with the card then turned to me
"You like Tremaine?"
I nodded
"You think he's a good guy?"
"Yeah. He never gave me a reason to think otherwise"
"Okay then. Fuck what Christian says. He's tryina play big brother too hard but you gotta be like me and ignore him. Tell him like I tell him. How you gone warn me about ain't shit niggas but you one of em. Same way he talking about other niggas, they probably telling they sisters the same thing about him"
We walked out of the store and the first thing the both of us saw was Christian laughing and talking to some girl outside of Tommy Hilfiger
"See look at him.... sometimes I wish I could earn these girls how big of a hoe my brother is but they don't care"
I just shook my head and glanced over at him again as we turned off to walk in the other direction. The wind started blowing causing Akira's hair to get in her face so she frustratedly pulled it away making me laugh
"Hair get on my damn nerves sometimes"
"I can tell. Ion see how you wear that long ass weave all the time"
"Cause I feel like a bad bitch with it"
"I bet so" I chuckled softly
"You need to try some bundles one time"
"One day... but that one day ain't today or no time soon. I think I'm cool with braids"
Akira rolled her eyes "whatever. You make me sick. I betcha Tremaine would fall in love if he saw you with some bundles"
"You think so?"
She nodded with a grin "I know so.. you need to try it"
"... I'll think about it" I told her as we continued walking
