In monitoring room, two alLans have been watching the events with Wroug Three. Such rooms are always recorded. Whether someone watches them depends on many conditions. When the pillow fight starts, they stop watching.
We got most of the key intel just by listening. Some of them may have guessed the kind of things we were listening for. No confessions of guilt. Physical evidence of guilt had been dropping away quickly in any matter. They had not been causing systems failures on Wroug.
One alLan explains why the pillow fight was almost an expected event. They each had selected sleeping wear based on their perceived identity. Pink for the youngest, and then royalty purple for the oldest. They all accepted that choice, but it was like asking to find a pillow going her way. You are queen bee, but we will tease you for it. I think we can leave them to rest for a while.
A red light blinks. A problem.
The monitors come up and the one in white is on the floor with injuries. They scroll back the video. Pillows swinging, and uhm an elbow to her jaw, and then a roll off the bed. Resulting in a smack to her head.
In the room, "2" is moved to the center bed by both. Given pillows and blankets. Pretty quickly, a selection of clear wrapped drinks and puddings (of various flavors) appear by Lan transport. They give "2" the flavor she likes most. She has a hurting head, but health systems have enough power.
"1" look up towards the ceiling and mouths a thank you.
Ten minutes later the alLans that were doing the observing, get some news.
An alLan walks into the holding room with a selection of identical spa wear and says we would like to talk with you down the hall in ten minutes.
"2" seems suspicious of it. "1" encourages the others to change clothes and be ready.
They are escorted to a conference room and are seated across from two alLans.
'We want to take you pictures and send out a message that have been feed and given reasonable care.'
"2" complains, but "1" says: "We are not wearing prison uniforms. They fed us and gave us reasonable places to rest and recover. If we agree to the statement, then they might tell us things we really want to know."
All three elLans look across the table and agree. Obviously waiting to hear news. Hoping to hear the best kind of news.
Arlow Tsai is now in the custody of the Lan.
They must send him back to the custodians of Earth. They allow the Lan to execute any tests they want for a period not exceeding four standard galactic days, and must at once conduct molecular construction analysis if he dies. The Lan also paid some other prices to make it happen.
It was possible because of an artificial intelligence in the Wroug medical centre. It demanded unbiased caretakers.
The elLans lean in. They want to know how Arl is.
It is good news: They have given Arlow Tsai suitable medical treatments. He can eat and drink.
"1" asks: "How? We saw what the Wroug discovered. His situation was dire."
Arl was benefiting from earlier research the Lan had done for someone (but those details are sealed).
The alLans lean forward with wry smiles 'There is something you might be able to help us with. If you would like to continue helping Arlow Tsai.'
The three elLans lean slightly forward, quite intrigued.
