"You got everything?" Maria asked as she pulled a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"I think so" I picked up my bag and slung it across my shoulder, heading towards the door were Mattia were impatiently waiting.
"Have a good day, alright?" Maria said, giving both of us hugs.
Mattia rolled his eyes as we walked out the door.
"You should be more respectful towards your mom, you that right?"
He got in the drivers seat as I walked to the opposite side of the car.
"And you should stay out of my business"
I ignored his comment and instead looked out of window instead.
The ride were quiet and after about 10 minutes of driving we got to the school.
Mattia soon enough found a parking spot close to the entrance, and as we got out we quickly met up with the others.
Walking through the big doors of PVSH gave me a weird feeling. My first day of Highschool? I don't even know how long I've waited for it!
"Isla what's your schedule?" Kairi asked on the way to our lockers.
I quickly pulled it out of my bag, reading it aloud for the others.
"First period you have with Alvaro and I!" Kairi exclaimed with a huge smile.
"And last period with Mattia and I" Ale commented too.
Turns out I had Spanish with Erin and Amina, history with Roshaun and math with Mattia, Kairi and Alvaro.
As Alvaro, Kairi and I walked through the crowded hallways I silently thanked Erin and Amina for already showing me around the school or I would've been lost.
We all sat down in the bag of the class as the second bell rang.
Just as the teacher began speaking a student came barging in.
"I'm sorry I'm late Ms. Thomas"
I quickly recognised him from last week, where Erin had introduced him to me.
He spotted me too and sat down on my left. He mouthed a short 'hi' before turning his attention to the teacher, I mocked him and did the same.
"I'm going to hand out some papers now and go to my office real quick. I expect EVERYONE to at least be at question three when I'm back" Ms. Thomas said.
A "yes" echoed through the classroom, but as soon as she was out the door everyone had turned to their friends, probably to fill them in on what had happened during their summer.
Patrick turned around to dab Kairi and Alvaro up before opening his mouth to speak.
"I'm having a party this Friday, you're coming?"
"Of course bro" Alvaro said, with Kairi nodding in agreement. Patrick's head the turned to look at me, biting his lip slightly.
"What about you, Isla?"
Damn he was flirty as fuck.
I looked at my two friends behind me, trying to catch their answer.
"You should go, it'll be fun" Alvaro assured.
"Alright. I'll go"

Time had come around for lunch, and for the second time that day I thanked Erin and Amina for showing me where the cafeteria was.
I quickly skimmed it through, finding my friends at a round table in the middle.
I walked towards them and sat down at the only spot available; between Mattia and Erin.
"So how's your first day?" Erin asked, while taking in a spoonful of pasta.
"Charming" I chuckled. "It's been good, so far"
"Do you plan on trying out for any sports?" Ale asked from the opposite side of me.
"Yeah, trying out for football after school" I nodded, but quickly corrected myself. "Soccer"
"You play soccer? What position?" Kairi exclaimed, suddenly way more interested in the conversation.
"Mostly defender, but I can be centre mid too-"
"Excuse me?" I was tapped lightly on my shoulder, causing me to turn around, revealing this brown haired girl giving me a dirty look.
"Can I help you?" I asked, genuinely confused.
"Yeah, move"
"Wha-"
"Jenna find your own fucking chair" Roshaun chimed in, boredom filling his voice.
She shot him a death glare before doing so and squeezing herself in between Mattia and I.
"And you are?" She asked me, her eyes travelling my body from top to toe.
"Isla, I'm an exchange student"
"Ew, you're British" she made a disgusted face, making my brows furrow.
Who the hell does she think she is?
"Ew you're American" I mocked her voice, making the others laugh. She rolled her eyes at me before turning her attention to Mattia.
She leaned in kissing him, looking like it was much to his dismay.
I couldn't help but grin in amusement. So he was that type of guy. What a surprise.
Not.
I ran a hand through my hair before consuming my conversation with the others.
"So as I was saying..."

Tryouts went great! I made the team and were undoubtedly one of the best players there. The coach seemed nice and so did the other girls.
Erin and Amina had waited for me on the bleachers and gave me a ride home, since Mattia had left with the boys.
"Byeeee" I yelled happily as I shut the door of Aminas Range Rover and walked towards the house.
"I made the team" I exclaimed happily as I walked in the living room.
Luca, Gianluca and Maria looked up from their dinner and congratulated me. I found a plate before sitting down and joining them.
"This is delicious!" I couldn't help but compliment it, it sure was something fancy. Or at least something I weren't used to eat back home.
"Thank you, it's Gianlucas favourite!" Maria said, giving me a soft smile.
We finished up and I walked downstairs.
I pulled my hair out of my ponytail as I walked towards the bathroom. I tried pushing the door open, but someone else occupied it.
"Mattiaaaa" I yelled, clearly irritated that I couldn't take a shower.
"What?" His level of annoyance matching mine.
"Get out, I have to shower" i knocked on the door, to stress him.
"I'm taking a shit" he yelled back, making me roll my eyes.
After almost ten minutes he came walking out like nothing happened.
I gagged at the stank, sending him a death glare.
"How am I supposed to shower in this air?"
He shrugged his shoulders lightly, a huge grin on his face. "That's not my problem"
