Y/N POV:
After leading Ruby and Jaune back the way we came we go inside the Amphitheater to see the rest of the applicants.
Yang: (waving) Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!
Ruby: Oh! Hey, I-I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony! (leaves)
Jaune: Hey, wait! (sighs) At least your still with me Y/N.
Only for him to see me already walking away.
Y/N: (Sorry Jaune I don't do well in crowds)
I put my hood up and blend into the background with my attention getting diverted by Ruby and Yang.
Yang: How's your first day going, little sister?
Ruby: You mean since you ditched me and I exploded?
Yang: Yikes! Meltdown already?
Ruby: No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school! And there was some fire, and I think some ice...?
Yang: (smiling broadly) Are you being sarcastic?
Ruby: I wish! I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then I exploded, and then she yelled at me again, and I felt really, really bad, and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!
I then see a girl that I recognized as Weiss Schnee the heiress of the Schnee Dust Company walk up to them.
Weiss: You!
Ruby: (quickly jumping into her sister's arms) Oh, God, it's happening again!
Weiss: You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!
Yang: (deadpan) Oh my God, you really exploded.
Ruby: : It was an accident. (getting down; to Weiss) It was an accident! (Weiss holds up a pamphlet titled "DUST for dummies and other Inadequate Individuals" to her) What's this?
She then starts listing off all the policies for the company at a quick rate.
Y/N: (She really knows how to defend a company)
Ruby: Uuhhh...?
Weiss: You really wanna start making things up to me?
Ruby: Absolutely?
Weiss: (handing the pamphlet to her) Read this, and don't ever speak to me again.
Yang: Look, uh, it sounds like you two just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?
Ruby: (putting the pamphlet away) Yeah! Great idea, sis! (holding out her hand as she clears her throat) Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!
Weiss: (seemingly enthusiastic) Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute girls, like tall, blue, and shy over there!
She then points at me.
Y/N: (Wait, what?!)
I feel my face start to heat up even more as I pull my hoodie over my face more to hide my embarrassment.
Ruby: Wow, really?!
Weiss: (dead silence under her glare) No.
Our attention is then diverted to the stage as Ms.Goodwitch is readying the microphone for Ozpin.
Ozpin: I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people.
Ozpin: But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction.
Ozpin: You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step.
Glynda: (as Ozpin leaves, she steps up to talk) You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed.
Yang: He seemed kind of... off.
Ruby: It's almost like he wasn't even there.
Y/N: (The first step)
Timeskip~
After getting dressed into our night attire all the applicants head to the Ballroom.
Y/N: (This is really nerve racking)
I walk in with my night clothes on.
Y/N: (Okay, just gotta find a spot with not a lot of people around)
I start to look around until I spot an empty space near the corner of the room.
I head over there and place all my things down.
Y/N: (Okay, just gotta keep calm so I don't have that dream and freak out)
I sit down and pull out my thermos filled with Tea and start drinking it while looking around to see Ruby and Yang.
Yang: It's like a big slumber party!
Ruby: (not looking up) I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though.
Yang: I know I do!
She purrs at multiple muscular and shirtless men and then groans at the sight of Jaune in feetie pajamas.
She turns back to see Ruby writing a letter.
Yang: What's that?
Ruby: A letter to the gang back at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going.
Yang: Aw, that's so cuuuute! (knocked back as a pillow is launched at her face)
Yang: What about Jaune and Y/N? They're... nice! There you go! Plus two friends! That's a two hundred percent increase!
Ruby: Pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend. Back to a hundred...
Yang: There's no such things as negative friends! You just made two friends and one enemy! (hit with another pillow, this time looking like a dog, to the face) Look, it's only been one day. Trust me; you've got friends all around you! You just haven't met them yet!
They both look at a girl with a bow.
Y/N: (She seems familiar)
My head starts to hurt as I see a flash of a memory of me and the girl fighting against some machine.
Y/N: (I fought with her?)
I snap outta of it as Ruby and Yang head over to her.
Yang: (singing) Hel-looooo! I believe you two may know each other?
???: Aren't you... that girl that exploded?
Ruby: Uh, yeah! My name's Ruby! But you can just call me Crater... (smiles, embarrassed) Actually, you can just call me Ruby.
???: Okay.
Yang: So... What's your name?
???: (sigh) Blake.
Y/N: (Blake that sounds right)
Yang: Well, Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister! I like your bow!
Blake: (irritated) Thanks!
Yang: It goes great with your... pajamas!
Y/N: (Kimono)
Blake: Right...
Yang: (as Ruby laughs uncomfortably) Nice night, don't you think?
Blake: Yes - it's lovely! Almost as lovely as this book! (Ruby and Yang stand there) That I will continue to read. (Ruby and Yang continue standing) As soon as you leave!
Y/N: (And I thought I was anti-social)
Ruby: What's it about?
Blake: Huh?
Ruby: Your book. Does it have a name?
Blake: Well... i-it's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body.
Yang: (sarcastically) Oh, yeah... That's real lovely!
Ruby: I love books. Yang used to read to me every night before bed. Stories of heroes and monsters... They're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress!
Blake: (laughing a little) And why is that? Hoping you'll live happily ever after?
Ruby: Well, I'm hoping we all will. As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books... Someone who fought for what was right, and protected people who couldn't protect themselves!
Blake: That's... very ambitious for a child. (her smile turns into a frown) Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale.
Ruby: Well, that's why we're here! To make it better.
Yang: Oh, I am so proud of my baby sister! (hugs Ruby into the air)
They both start play fighting as Ruby was trying to break free of Yang's hug.
Blake: (laughing slightly) Well, Ruby, Yang, it's a pleasure to ha-
Weiss: What in the world is going on over here?! Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?
Weiss and Yang: (at the sight of each other) Oh, not you again.
Ruby: Shh! Guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep!
Weiss: Oh, now you're on my side!
Ruby: I was always on your side!
Yang: Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice!
Weiss: She's a hazard to my health!
Y/N: (I feel like their gonna be great friends)
Blake blows out her candle as I fall asleep.
???: Y/N...
Y/N: Huh?
I open my eyes to see I'm in a dark void.
Y/N: Where am I?
I walk around only hearing a bell chime.
???: You need to remember.
Y/N: Who are you?
???: Remember...
???: Remember....
I turn to the source only seeing a set of glowing blue eyes.
Y/N: Who--
Everything then goes white as I find myself back in the Ballroom seeing everyone starting to get up and head to the changing rooms.
Y/N: (Who was that?)
Timeskip~
After getting dressed I head to my locker and grab Amaya.
Y/N: (Cleaned and ready)
I holster them and walk over to Ruby and Yang.
Ruby and Yang: Morning Y/N.
Y/N: Morning.
Yang: You ready for Initiation?
Y/N: Mmhm.
Y/N: What about you guys?
Ruby: Yep! No more awkward small talk or "getting-to-know-you" stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking. (strokes Crescent Rose as she sighs happily)
Yang: Well, remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together.
Ruby: (sighs in frustration) You sound like Dad! (shoves her weapon into the locker) Okay, first of all: What does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly: I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!
Y/N: Milk doesn't really help you grow.
Yang: But what about when we form teams?
Ruby: (suddenly nervous) Um, I don't know, I... I'll just be on your or Y/N's team or something...
Yang: (Bringing her hair around her shoulder and stroking it) Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?
I do the same and start stroking my hair.
Y/N: Yeah, I'm not really good with teams.
Ruby: My dear sister Yang and my new friend Y/N, are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me?
Y/N: No! Of course I do! I just have trouble with working with people.
Yang: Maybe it would help you... break out of your shell!
Ruby: What the-?! I don't need to 'break out of my shell'! That's absolutely-
Jaune: Ridiculous!
I turn to see Jaune looking for his locker.
Jaune: There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered having to count that high! Why does this have to happen today?
Y/N: You put it in 363!
Jaune: Oh! Thank you!
He heads back to get his weapons.
Y/N: (I hope he has better fighting skills than he does memory)
My attention is then diverted to Weiss talking to Pyrrha Nikkos regional champion of Mistral.
Weiss: So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you'd like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well-known individual such as yourself!
Pyrrha: Hmm... I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may.
Weiss: Well... I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together.
Pyrrha: Well, that sounds grand!
Weiss: Great!
She turns having a manical look until Jaune walks over to them.
Y/N: (Oh no)
Jaune: You know what else is great? Me. Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you.
Weiss: (irritated) You again?
Pyrrha: Nice to meet you, Jaune!
Only for him lightly push her away.
Jaune: So, Weiss, couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day.
Weiss: Oh, you've got to be kidding me!
Y/N: (He's embarrassing himself more)
Jaune: Don't worry! No need to be embarrassed! So, been hearing rumors about teams! I was thinking you and me would make a good one! What do you say?
Pyrrha: Actually, I think the teams are comprised of four students each, so-
Jaune: You don't say.
He then advances in Pyrrha.
Jaune: Well, hot stuff, play your cards right and maybe you could join up with the winning team.
Y/N: (I'll admit it he does have confidence)
Weiss: Jaune, is it? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?
Jaune: Not in the slightest, snow angel.
Weiss: This is Pyrrha.
Pyrrha: Hello again!
Weiss: Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum!
Jaune: Never heard of it.
Weiss: (scoffs) She's won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row! A new record!
Jaune: The what?
Weiss: (waving her arms rapidly in anger) She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes box!
Jaune: (gasping suddenly) That's you?!
Jaune: But they only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters!
Pyrrha: Yeah, it was pretty cool. Sadly, the cereal isn't very good for you.
Weiss: So, after hearing all of this, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your team?
Jaune: I guess not... Sorry... (hanging his head)
Pyrrha: Actually, Jaune, I think you'd make a great leader!
Jaune: (immediately brightening back up) D'oh, stop it!
Weiss: Seriously, please stop it. This kind of behavior should not be encouraged!
Jaune: Sounds like Pyrrha's on board for Team Jaune. Spots are filling up quick! Now, I'm not supposed to do this, but maybe I could pull some strings, find a place for you. What do you say?
Weiss: All right, that's a bit too close! Pyrrha, a little help, please?!
She then throws her spear as Jaune goes flying by his hoodie onto a locker.
Pyrrha: I'm sorry!
The intercom goes off.
Glynda: (over intercom) Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately.
We all start heading over as Pyrrha grabs her spear back.
Pyrrha: It was nice meeting you!
Jaune: (slumping against the locker) Likewise...
She leaves as we approach him.
Yang: Having some trouble there, lady-killer?
Jaune: I don't understand. My dad said all women look for is confidence!
We help him up.
Y/N: There's being confident and there's acting like a musclehead.
Jaune: Where did I go wrong?
Yang: "Snow Angel" probably wasn't the best start.
Ruby: Come on, Jaune, let's go.
