Dawn's Pov

It was a hassle trying to memorize the names of all people I had met today. They all looked so much alike that it was almost impossible to tell them apart from each other.

There was aunty Lenore and Rosa alongside three uncles who rarely hung around for a conversation. Then there were David's six cousins, Darcy, Lionel, Elodie, Oceane, Pom, and Quincy, and their kids who were also present at the family house and not to forget the soon-to-be weds, Sylvie and Julius who made it just in time to join in for pre-lunch.

On the bright side, Amanda and I didn't have a falling out. She'd been busy running around and trying to put things in order for the wedding rehearsal and If I didn't know better, I'd think she was more excited than the bride herself.

We did lock eyes once tho and she'd thrown the nastiest skin-chilling scowl my way and stormed off.

I sighed as I took off the last piece of clothing I had on and opened the glass sliding door to step into the standing shower.

I was never going to understand why that woman despised me so much.

I shook my head at the thought as I turned the lever clockwise, immediately greeted by the warm water that surged down and wet my skin.

I closed my eyes and sighed in pure bliss. It felt nice and warm. I pushed my hair out of my face and tilted my head back so the streams beat my face and relieved me of-the bathroom door suddenly opened and my eyes snapped open.

I turned around instantly to look through the glass battered by a cloud of steam. "David? is that you?" I asked, fighting down my panic as I wiped the fog off the glass with my hand.

"Who else would it be?"

The sound of his voice made me release a relieving sigh. "You scared me." I opened the doors and I swear to God I wasn't expecting to be greeted by the sight of his nakedness. My cheeks heated. "What are you doing here?"

His eyes skimmed over my body, from my legs to my face. "What does it look like I'm doing?"

"Invading my privacy." I narrowed my eyes and tried to close the sliding doors but he held them apart and poked his head through.

"Mind if I join you? I'll scrub your back and you'll scrub mine?"

I tried my hardest to keep my eyes from wandering to other rising places. "I need to finish her quickly so I can prepare for the rehearsal dinner."

"Cool." He stepped in, allowing the streaming water to drench his hair and wet his skin with little droplets falling on his shoulders and glistering off his toned chest. "Let's save water together."

I moved back to give him space. "Since when did you care about saving water?"

"You're right, I don't." He closed the distance between us, resting one hand against the wall beside my head. "But this is the only place I can have sex without the whole house hearing your screams."

My heartbeat precipitated. I bit my lip. "You'll make us both late."

"I know." He pressed his body flush against mine and leaned his head closer, his voice low and hoarse. "I just really need you." He slid a palm down my ass and squeezed so tight that I gasped. "Now."

My chest rose, rubbing against his as I inhaled deeply. "Are you always this horny?"

"Blame it on your sexiness." He teased, bringing his lips down to mine and sealing it in a kiss that I couldn't refuse, a kiss that I could only return.

He groaned into my mouth, lips slanting over mine, hot, needy, feverish. He pushed his leg between mine, spreading it apart. "Oh my God." I gripped his shoulders in reflex, gasping out when his sneaky fingers dipped into my sex. "David!"

He moved his fingers and I arched my back. "Just trying to check if you're wet enough."

"It's-" I managed, almost breathless as he pushed his fingers deeper. "It's the water."

"Hmm." Was his reply as he pulled out of my core and slipped both fingers into his mouth and when he sucked, I felt my stomach tighten. "I think I can work with this." He slipped his hand out of his mouth and in a swift move, spun me around so I was facing the wall.

"As much as I want to watch you cum all over my fingers and mouth, I really need to be inside you." His hands slid down my spine, his lip on my shoulders, kissing nibbling, biting. "I've been dying to be inside you all day." One more kiss on my neck and he entered me from behind, forcing a groan out of my mouth.

"Place your hands on the wall and arch a little for me, my love." He breathed and I complied, splaying my hands on the wall and pushing my hip out so he could move freely and he did, he moved, hard, deep, leaving my words breaking into pieces as I begged for more, bucking into him, convulsing again and again and again...

It felt like I still had him between my legs; like he was still railing into me. There was this huge ache happening around there that made it impossible to walk properly and David knew this. In fact, he'd been sniggering at me since we left the house and stepped into the hall assorted with gold drapes and embellished with Grecian antiquities only found in Orleans.

"This isn't funny David, stop making fun of me." I grimaced, for once thankful that I had gone with a flowing dress because I sure as hell didn't want anyone to see my quivering legs.

"It's cute that you're still shaking for me," he brought his lips to my ear and whispered. "Makes me want to go back in there and take your legs out completely."

I feigned annoyance, pushing his carnal words aside. "God, you're insane."

He smirked. "If I was, you'd be walking around my cum between your thighs."

My cheeks heated. "David, you-"

"Brother!" The sumptuously dressed guy now approaching us with his arms open interrupted me and I presumed it was a companion of David's because he pulled him into a hug.

"This is amazing, I did not expect to see you here tonight."

When David finally pulled back, he straightened his suit. "Goodness. I didn't expect to be here either,"

He laughed heartily, displaying his gorgeous canines. "Nonsense brother. Look at you! You look much better than the last time we met at that strip club in Soho!"

David coughed awkwardly and his eyes immediately settled on me. "Oh not to worry love, that was a long time ago, before you two got acquainted."

I simply smiled even if I was displeased.

David cleared his throat. "My love, meet my cousin, Lionel. Leon, my wife, Dawn."

"Oh don't be so coy David, we are more than just cousins." He turned to me, excitement in his eyes as he spoke. "Back in the days, your husband and I were best buddies. We traveled the world together, checked out the hottest clubs together, shared expensive wine," he leaned in. "And sometimes women too."

David coughed again, really loudly this time and Leon laughed but I didn't find it funny. "I must say, he is one lucky bastard. Your beauty is simply divine."

I forced a tightened smile at his flattery. "Thank you,"

"Ah, the pleasure is all mine," he winked and turned back to David. "I'm glad you could make it brother. Come with me, let's have a drink."

David shook his head. "Actually, we were going to hit the dance floor."

My brows lifted. "We are?"

"Yes honey, we are." He grabbed my hand. "See you around Leon." He told him and pulled me away to the dance floor before he could reply or protest.

"So you like to share your women?" I asked, circling my hands around his neck.

"Liked." He corrected, placing his hand on the small of my back and moving with me. "That was the past."

I hummed. "I didn't peg you as that kind of guy."

"I was in a really dark place at that point of my life." He leaned into my ear, moving in sync with my body to the slow classical music echoing from the invisible speakers. "And I have you to thank for pulling me out of it."

I smiled. "All I did was pour hot coffee on you."

He chuckled softly, twirling me around and bringing me back to his chest. "Well, yes but you did more than that. You poured hot coffee all over my heart."

I gave him a look.

"Okay, that sounded better in my head." He laughed. "But my point is, I don't regret it and I wouldn't mind you pouring hot coffee on me again and again and again because it's the best thing that has happened to me You're the best thing that has ever happened to me and I'm never letting you go, not even when I die."

I laughed at the greedy tone. "You're awfully possessive."

"Ok, I'm way past that. But what can I say, being away from you is no longer an option." His hold on my waist tightened. "I'm nothing without you, Dawn, and I love you, God, I love you so much."

"I love you too, more than the universe." I cupped his face and kissed him but it was short-lived because when someone cleared their throat beside us, I broke away.

"Well, you two seem to be having a lot of fun." Mr. Argent piped in with a teasing smile on his face.

"Mr. Henry," I greeted, my cheeks flushing with the barest hint of red. "I'm sorry you had to see that."

He chuckled, waving me off with a flick of his wrist. "Oh, it's no problem. Nothing can stop a man from professing his love for his woman."

"Father," David cleared his throat. "Anything the matter?"

"Your uncle got drunk and fell into the water fountain."

David didn't ask any more questions. He turned to me, his grey eyes, the color of a silver sword, boring into mine. "I'll be back soon okay?" He kissed my cheek and nodded to his father before walking off and leaving us standing awkwardly on the dance floor.

"A lady shouldn't be left alone on the dance floor," he finally spoke, no doubt noticing my uneasiness. "Have a cup of tea with me," he urged and I offered him a genuine smile.

"I'd love to."

We walked into the screened room and I took a seat, resting comfortably in the armchair and sipping from the cup of freshly brewed tea he offered me.

"You must love hunting," I observed, motioning to the skins of numerous forest animals festooned on the brick wall.

"Yes I do but unfortunately the years haven't been very favorable to me." he chuckled, bringing his cup closer to his mouth as he admired his art.

"My uncle once told me that only a hunter truly understands the real meaning of patience."

"Your uncle must be a true hunter himself."

"He was," I smiled, circling my fingers on the rim of the cup.

Henry took a large sip from his cup and dropped it. "I remember back in the days when I'd take David hunting with me. He was always so passionate about the animals and would deliberately distract me just so they got away." He laughed to himself as if reminiscing on a distant memory.

"He has always been that affectionate," I smiled.

"He's a good man, he might be a little stubborn and hard-headed sometimes but he fights for what he believes in, and when he loves something he is willing to go an extra mile to protect It."

"The way you talk so fondly of him, if I didn't know better, I'd mistake him for more than a son to you."

"Well, certainly he is my son, but sometimes his perception amazes me and I think he grew up a little too fast," he smiled bigger, reaching for the teapot.

"Here, let me," I suggested, taking the pot and preparing him a fresh cup with two spoonfuls of orchid leaves.

"Not too many orchids, I get allergic," he instructed and I quickly removed a few leaves before they soaked into the water.

"So where were we?" He asked, settling into his chair when I handed him a fresh cup.

"Pardon my curiosity but since I arrived here, I haven't seen much of your side of your family, it's mostly packed with Mrs. Amanda's siblings and distant relatives."

He nodded in understanding and took a sip from his tea whilst coughing as it went down his throat. "The Argent's, unlike the Guillory's are very few in number."

"Why so?"

He shrugged, coughing lightly again. "It has been that way for a very long time."

"I guess David isn't the only one with a thing for not having children," I joked, taking another sip but he didn't look like he found any humor in my words.

"Hasn't he told you yet?" He asked, stifling another cough.

My brows furrowed. "About what?"

He looked as confused as I was. "I assumed you both had the conversation and understood each other before getting married."

My stomach felt unsettled. "I don't understand, what conversation?"

"I thought he told you about the-" He paused and grabbed the arm of his chair as he coughed harshly.

"Mr. Henry?" I got up from my seat in worry as I noticed his slight change in disposition. "Are you alright?"

"The orchids...I-I can't-" He choked on his words, clutching his chest as a stricken look took over his face.

"Mr. Henry!" The shriek ripped itself out of my throat as I plunged forward and rushed to his side. He was convulsing in my arms. "Somebody help!"

Dear God.
