EVER SINCE THE BEST FRIENDS' argument, the two had avoided talking about it. Baby was too busy worrying about Emma, who's family was handling Mr. Simpson's chemotherapy. She had also joined chess club to bring up her resume.
The blonde sat outside, during lunch, with Kendra, Liberty, Nadia, and Toby. She was in the middle of a chess game with Liberty, who was obviously going to beat me.
"Whoa, en passant? You can't do that." Baby argued to Liberty as she made her move
"Oh, I can. A rare, but legal move of opportunity by the lowly pawn." Liberty smirked
"Okay, okay. Fair enough." Baby laughed, before making the next move she hoped wouldn't let Liberty win
"Toby? Is everything okay?" Nadia asked the boy who was looking around quietly
"JT was supposed to be here." Toby said, making the blonde girl sigh because it was likely her fault he wasn't
"Then why's he sitting over there?" Nadia questioned, pointing to JT with a group of upperclassmen
"He probably just forgot today's the inaugural meeting of the Rocks and Knights Society." Toby shrugged, "Hey, JT! Over here!"
JT glanced at Toby, then the blonde, then back at Toby before turning away and rejoining the conversation he was having
"Yeah, he really forgot." Kendra joked, rolling her eyes
"Hope he hasn't forgotten he's staying over at my place tonight for the movie marathon. You're still coming, right Baby?" Toby asked
"Me and JT aren't on the best terms right now, but if there's ice cream count me, awkwardly, there." The blonde shrugged, before counting her checkmate against Liberty

DURING THE MOVIE MARATHON, JT and Baby got along surprisingly well. It's like they had forgot everything that happened the other night and pathologically decided to just enjoyed being together as friends.
By the time they were done with movies, it was around 2am and Toby's mom didn't think it'd be safe for the blonde girl to walk home. She gave Babb some pillow and blankets, and the girl slept on the couch while the boys slept upstairs.
"Toby, your mom made breakfast." Baby said, walking into Toby's room the next morning to get the boys for school
JT squealed when he saw he saw the blonde girl, confusing his two friends. The Yorke boy wasn't moving fast enough for Toby, so he began to tug at the covers on JT, "Toby quit it. Stop!" JT yelled, trying to tug them back
"What, did you pee the bed or something?" Toby joked, making Baby laugh despite how stupid it was
Jt didn't say anything, but looked at his two friends uncomfortably, "You had a wet dream? Three feet above my head?" Toby asked, "Who was it about? And why did you keep saying 'rabies'?"
"Alright, I think that's my cue to leave." Baby quickly decided, shutting the door behind herself, not really wanting to hear the boy talk about other girls
She decided to wait for the boys by the front door, and spotted Toby smirking as they approached her, "Baby. We're joining JT at the cool kids table, today."
"Toby, I've been friends with Spinner since I was a baby. Why is this a big deal?" The blonde asked, confused
"Because not all of us are liked by Spinner." Toby sighed, making the other two laugh
At lunch, the three teens had followed through on their morning plan. Baby sat next to Spinner and Paige, across from JT and Hazel. She watched them play cards, and laughed as Spinner struggle to understand the game
"Oh, it might be a trump nine, but it does not beat the left bower." Paige smiled, pointing at the cards on the table
"I- I don't understand. I mean, trump? Bower? Euchre? Is this even English?" Spinner asked them, completely confused
"Actually 'Euchre' is an English word but it's origins are unknown." Toby spoke up
JT and Baby looked at each other, quickly realizing that Toby was about to embarrass himself, "I love Euchre. I always play with my bubbie. Deal me in."
"I'm Toby Isaacs, I know everything." JT mocked, making the blonde roll her eyes at his too-cool-for-school attitude
"I was just making an observation." Toby said, wondering why he was being teased
"Really? Would you like to hear my observation, Toby? No one cares." JT rudely admitted to the boy
Toby sadly sighed, before glancing at his blonde friend, "Well, I know something everyone here might care about."
"Toby." JT warned, confusing everyone at the table
"The nocturnal emission, better known as the wet dream." Toby started
Baby Roberts rolled her eyes, already knowing JT had had a wet dream, and continued to shuffle the cards.
"I've had them, Spinner's had them, even Uh, Mr. Raditch has had them." Toby elaborated, making the table groan
"Okay, I so did not need that mental image." Paige gagged
"Agreed. Where are you even going with this?" Baby asked the boy
"Know who else has had them?" Toby smirked, glancing at JT
"Hey guys, let's get back to the cards." JT suggested, attempting to grab everyone's attention off of the glasses boy
"JT Yorke." Toby explained, ignoring what JT had said
"Okay, is there a point to this?" Spinner asked, not really caring about the younger boy's sexual dreams
"Oh, there's a point. Right there." Toby smirked, pointing his finger towards Baby Roberts
Spinner and Baby looked at each other, still confused, "Okay, that may make sense in Yiddish, but I'm still lost."
"So was JT, this morning, in dreams of Baby." Toby explained, making it finally click in the blonde's brain
Her face turned a shade of bright red as everyone from the table, excluding JT, looked at her with excited smiles. "Uh, I have to go help Emma with a club thing. I'll see you guys later." Baby decided, before getting up to leave, patting JT's back on her way out to try and decrease his embarrassment
The blonde pulled up Emma from her spot at another table, quickly pulling Emma into the hallway. The taller blonde had been staring at Sean, making Baby have to ask, "What'd he do?"
The two girls stopped in the hallway, moving to sit on the floor so they could sulk about boys, instead of actually doing anything productive.
"Ever since he started hanging out with those jerks, he's been acting like a complete idiot. He's mad because I haven't been spending time with him, but I'm busy with family stuff." Emma sighed
"Sean's been different this year, and I don't know why. It's completely unfair for him to come at you like that. I also thought he was smart enough to not hang out with kids like those." Baby admitted, putting an arm around her friend in comfort
"So, what's going on with you and JT?" Emma teased the girl, making her roll my eyes
"Well, we had an argument the other day about everything, but at Toby's we got along really well and everything seemed fine. Then, something happened." Baby started to explain
"You know you can tell me anything." Emma insisted
"Don't tell anyone I told you this, because I feel really bad. JT had a wet dream about me." The blonde admitted, just blushing at the thought
"He did what?" She giggled, "That's hilarious."
"Don't tease me." Baby groaned, before she looked at her and they both started laughing

THAT NIGHT, BABY ROBERTS SAT ON her bed with all her textbooks laid out, studying for a quiz. She was about to erase something in her notes, when a knock on her window made the blonde pause.
Baby turned to find JT awkwardly waving outside her window. The blonde laughed, fixing the strap on her tank top before unlocking the window, and helping pull the boy in, "You better hurry up before my moms catch you."
He got his foot caught on the window and the blonde had to tug him, resulting in the both of them falling on their butts and laughing.
"Hey, Baby." He greeted with an awkward smile
"JT." The blonde nodded, just as awkward and nervous as the boy
"I wanted to say I'm sorry. It wasn't cool for Toby to say that in front of our friends, and I'm sorry if I made you feel weird. I don't want us to not be friends. Since our argument, we've been distant and then the other night at Toby's we got along really well. I want that back again." JT confessed, poking at the pillow that sat besides him
"JT, you don't have to apologize. We both said stupid stuff that we didn't mean. Don't feel bad about what happened at Toby's...it's not like the same thing doesn't happen to girls." The blonde finally admitted, before fixing her top again
"Wait, what?" JT laughed
"Girls dream that kind of stuff too. Don't tease." Baby smiled, before joining him in laughing
"About who?" He questioned, taking the blonde's pillow and putting it in his lap
"Uh." The blonde groaned, hiding her face in her hands to hide her embarrassed face
"Don't tell me The Belle Roberts had a sexy dream about me." JT laughed, making the girl steal the pillow and smack him with it, before he stopped her by grabbing her hand, "I really am sorry."
Baby glanced at the boy's hand in her own, before looking back at him, "I wore that outfit for you."
"What?" JT asked
"That day I wore that outfit. It wasn't for the other boys, I was trying to get your attention." Baby explained, already regretting her decision to admit it, scared of getting rejected
"Baby, you know you don't have to do stuff like that. I was stupid to ever ignore you for Manny. She wasn't the one I wanted." He softly spoke
"JT, I don't want to ruin our relationship." Baby confessed, never wanting to lose her best friend
"Me neither." He agreed, before slowly starting to lean in
"Then what are we going to do?" She asked, following his lead and leaning in too
"Stay friends." He whispered, now a couple inches away from the blonde's face
"Who maybe kiss sometimes?" She suggested, making them both laugh
"Okay." He agreed with a smile
"Okay." Baby repeated, before closing the gap between the both of them, gently holding his face in her hands
After a minute he pulled away and smiled at the girl in front of him, "Our secret?"
"As long as we never lose our friendship. I rather miserably watch you date everyone in the world than lose our friendship." Baby admitted
"Agreed 100%. I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked, letting go of the girl's hand and opening her window
"Yeah. See you tomorrow." She smiled, watching him climb out the window with a final wave. After locking the window behind the boy, Baby jumped on her bed and excitedly squealed into her pillow.

Honestly did not expect this chapter to go this way at all. It just came out. Y'all tell me what you think. I kind of like the secret friends with benefits thing. I think it's really sweet and might help me write some drama hehe.
