I knew it was the end long before it was over.
My heart grew so much colder
Than I knew it could ever be.
Was this me?
It couldn't be.
I shuddered at the mere memory
Of the ghost girl, I hated.
She
Was everything and I never
Viewed her as such.
Was it too much of me
Running too fast
Youthfully?
Beautifully.
As to why I didn't notice?
She drowned in her endurance and silence.
I couldn't save her even though
At the time, I didn't know that
She was me
.
Her ferocious love and warmth only
Attracted damaged souls
That doused her effervescent glow.
She grew old way before her time.
In her prime,
She had no idea that she was a priceless gem.
She was naive to offer her romance
So early in life.
I never knew it would damage
Us so badly to
Become a passionate necromancer.
I solemnly danced for her
And, I confess just a bit for me, too.
I strive my best to honor her memory
And to create a better future
For us together.
She and I.
