Alfred watched the siblings from far away they wanted to be alone and talk. Alfred sighs and turns back to watching his post he watched the trail that led into Terwer. A couple of towns have stepped forward and joined us in protecting them . The names where Mal, Xasho, Thohill, Fels, Gameon Creek. Gameon Creek is his personal favorite town He would love to visit it. It's is a large town on the edge of a beautiful estuary. It is known for its nightlife.
It just perfect in his eyes. His wings flicked as he refocused on the trail and watching for anything notable. Nothing it's been silent for a week now the head guards of each town have gathered here in Terwer to talk over stuff. He's just glad he being allowed to rest and do light work for now. His eyes flicked over towards the prince and his sisters they where sitting in a field of flowers picking some. He watched them quietly and looked away back to focusing. That was until he was tapped on the shoulder by another guard.
" it's my turn buddy " he said happily as Alfred nodded and said A quick thanks as he walked into the town that was intil he heard his name be called by one of the little princess.
" Alfred! Alfred! " she said happily running over and grabbing his hand and pulling him along with her " we are making flower crowns but big brother can't do it but he said you use to make them all the time!!!"
" Natalya slowly down " Alfred said as he was pulled into the flowers by the young princess. She then shoved some flowers into his hands and watched. Alfred looks down at them and sighs he takes a few seconds to remember and he made a flower crown out of white daisys and yellow dandelions and placed it on the princess head. She smiled and clapped her hands and tried to make one as well failing a few times before getting it right and placed the second one on her head. Alfred was showing Lydia how to make one as well Ivan just watched and followed along making one for Alfred quietly when he finished it he placed it on Alfreds head. Alfred was shocked and looked at Ivan before smiling.
" thanks" he said softly as he watched Lydia make her own he had placed the one he made on her head. Alfred was quietly watching before he heard his name being called in the distance. Alfred got up and said goodbye and watched as the princesses sadly cried out no. Which made Alfred slightly sad but he says he has to and leave quickly running towards where his name was being called his wings shooting out when he saw what the others had found.
A few guards from the castle he knew them they where on the opposite side. Angry boiled in Alfred as he walked towards them the head guard waved him over.
" what should we do with them?" The guard asked Alfred catching him off guard. The irony of that.
" it's not my choice it would be..... the kings ...." Alfred looks at them his eyes clouded slightly. They heard news that the king was dead but the news was kept from Ivan and the little ones. That wasn't the move Alfred would have made. " it would be Ivan's choice we have to tell him eventually"
" tell me what?" Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Alfred turns and looks at the only standing members of the royal family. All of the head guards looked at each other.
" Prince...... you're father and mother have died at the hands of traitors and they have took over the castle...." Thohill's head guard said softly. Alfred looks at the floor the flowers crown tipped forward as Alfred shuffled his feet. Fel's head guards continued
" some disagreed with keeping the information from you but they where out voted." She sent a look at Alfred before looking back at Ivan. " we just didn't want you to get overwhelmed but prin... king we wanted you to calm down and rest a bit " Ivan was looking at the ground his face hidden his sisters eyes where watering. Alfred then speaks up
" Ivan ...... king Ivan what do we do with them " he swept a wing out towards the prisoners. Ivan looks up and glares at all of them.
" kill them their murders why should they live just to kill someone again?" He said calmly and with out emotion " you kill them Alfred in front of all of Terwer this is the start of taking back what's belongs to my family " he add as a after thought. Alfred blood ran cold and a shiver went down his back as he nodded suddenly afraid of Ivan. The guards picked the four prisoner up and carried them to the middle of town and sat them up in a line. Alfred stood by nervous he looked over at Ivan lucky his sister where being watched by a town maid. Ivan waits and people watched more showing up. Alfred listen to Ivan speak
" these four are being charged with helping in the death of the king and Queen " Ivan started and shots a glare at the four " so their punishment is death " he nodded to Alfred. Alfred took a step forward and took out a sword and holds it above the first ones head. The guards name was Jim he had trained Alfred the first month he was selected. Jim looks Alfred in the eyes the one nice green eyes that resemble a nice roaring green field now was a cold dark swap that held dangerous monsters. Alfred felt nothing about killing Jim. So Alfred lifted the sword and makes a clean slice down severing Jim's head from his body. Next was Emily. Emily was a mother...... she had one 14 year old and a 3 year old. He warm golden eyes that held hope seemed shattered.... her 3 year old died at the hands of the 14 year old. Alfred felt his heart shattering a bit at the thought of killing her. He raised his sword and brought it down quickly giving Emily the quick death she deserved. The third was a close friend. Paul had been Alfreds Friend when they were training. Alfred felt betrayed and wouldn't let his friend even have the chance of killing his best friend. So he raised the sword and brought it down it was a clean cut so the Paul screams out in pain before the life faded he had lost to much blood. He looks at the last one angry filled him this was one of the ringleaders of the whole thing they looked scared they don't deserve their name even thought of. Alfred felt angry at the pain his best friend has to go through. So he raised his sword stares into their pale blue eyes before saying quietly so only they could hear
" hope you burn in hell" the dude's eyes widened before the sword was brought down on their neck it was far from clean but they died quickly. Alfred backs way and put the sword away and looks at Ivan before stepping back into line with the other guards. Ivan watched the crowd quietly before speaking.
" let those who think I'm going down without a fight hear of this I won't go down easily " he looks at them all and smiled " thank you for giving me and my siblings a safe place to live when we take the castle back where staying here and making this the capital of are kingdom " he bows towards the people " because I'm I will be loyal to those loyal to me " they all cried out screaming happily and agreeing with their king
" praise the king!!!" Someone shouts other join in. Alfred looks at Ivan with worry they both where still way too young for this life. They where fourteen they didn't deserve this. Alfred and the other guard went on with business Alfred was going to his post at the gate it was his turn he had to relive the guard that was there. Alfred tap him on the shoulder and nodded with his head towards the town. The guard nodded in understanding and left. Alfred watched the road dread filled him from head to toe. He could only fear what of head of him.
~ Four years later ~
Alfred dogged a sword in mid flight with enemy guard. His sword clashed with theirs. He had a cut running down on of his legs it hurt so bad but he kept it together. He slashed at the opponents face get a clean cut the guard screamed and dropped his sword into the fighting below Alfred called out
" falling sword watch out!!" As he slashed at the now unarmed guard. The guard fled so Alfred looks at the fight below him. Ivan was in the middle fighting along side his guards Alfred had to say he totally didn't agree to this and even told Ivan off saying. ' he had to be their for his sister' Ivan had replied with ' I am I'm making sure their safe by fighting'. Alfred was ferocious when the head guards agreed say he was over reacting. It was his job to keep them safe! This isn't safe! Alfred takes a deep breath and dove to stop someone sneaking up on Ivan. Alfred land with a gush of wind unbalancing Ivan,the guy he was fighting but most importantly the guy sneaking up on Ivan. Alfred didn't miss a beat and started to attack the guy.the guy struggled with keeping up and defended himself. Ivan suddenly appears at Alfreds side mumbles
" killed the other person " Alfred nodded and gasped in pain as sword stabbed his side. Ivan sent him a look of worry as he took on the person Alfred was fighting. The sword was pulled out and Alfred spun to defend him self bracing against the sword but going down his leg and side was catching up with him. He glares at the person that might kill him. The guy smirked and raised his sword to get the finale blow. But dropped it and cried out as sword came over Alfreds head and stabbed him in the chest. Alfred sighs then groans as he struggled to breath he felt soft fabric brush his wings. Well he could only guess it was Ivan. Sure enough Ivan crouched down in front of Alfred the battle was over he heard cheers from his fallow guards. Ivan inspected the wound on Alfreds side he frowns then looked at Alfreds leg and winced. He then picked Alfred up his arm going under Alfreds leg and other under his wings. He walked back to the town not celebrating like his guards where he was more worried about Alfred his best friend..... his wings... he still had the feathers Alfred gave him around his neck and under his scarf..... it was the only thing he had left that belonged to him from his home. Ivan looks down at Alfred
" stay awake don't close your eyes" Alfred respond with a groan and opening his eyes. Ivan had realized along time ago that he loved the blonde he was carrying. When he realized he was confused but late he understood. The blonde was his favorite thing to watch he loved watching Alfreds wings twitch when he talked about things he liked. He liked watching Alfreds eyes lightning up with curiosity or joy. He liked watching Alfred interact with people how he changed his personality with different people how he could easily get people to open up. Alfred was kind,sweet,funny,talkative and he wouldn't change that for the world. He looks backed down at Alfred. Panicking when he saw that Alfreds eyes where closed and that his wings where dragging on the ground slightly.
" Alfred wake up" the winged guard woke up with a start and blinks then looked up into Ivan's violet worried eyes. A doctor spotted them and ran over snatching Alfred way with panic as he screamed out.
" get the sewing kits we have a problem " as he disappeared with Alfred. Ivan could only watch and worry and think about what could happen.
" brother!!" Two voices shout over the crowd of people. Ivan looks around and spots them he crouched down to their level. The hugged him before saying ewww and pulling away and looked at the blood on Ivan. Ivan chuckle slightly before frowning the blood was Alfreds not his. The two looks at each other then around for someone who Ivan could only assume they where looking for Alfred. Ivan would have to tell them he was hurt if they asked.
