BABY ROBERTS LAUGHED AS SHE watched Manny Santos do jumping jacks for Emma's science project. The blonde girl would have helped, but she definitely doesn't exercise unless she has to
"How many?" Manny asked, leaning against her knees, out of breath.
"48. Thats 14 more than last week when you were eating junk." Emma noted
Baby started to peel an orange when Emma groaned, loudly, "Ugh. Every time I turn around, there he is. At home, school."
"Can you ever get too much Mr. Simpson?" Baby teased, laughing at the tall girl
"Uh, yeah. He came over, again, for dinner last night. And guess what he asked me?" She spoke, pulling her two friend's interests in
"What?" Manny quizzed
"If I had any hot dates this weekend." Emma gagged
"Ew. Gross." Baby groaned, shaking her head in disgust
"You want grosser? He wants me to call him by his first name. Archie." Emma complained
"Hm. Does that make your mom Betty?" Manny teased
"I always thought she was more of a Veronica type." Emma said before continuing to blend her smoothie.

"ALRIGHT. REMEMBER THE SCIENCE fair is tomorrow at nine sharp." Mrs. H minded the class, as she walked around the science room.
JT and Baby looked at each other, before giggling because his hands were covered in his project materials, "Looks like some of you are almost finished. And looking around the room it looks like some of you are lagging behind. Does anyone need any help?"
"Uh, yes please." JT begged, picking up his blender filled with goop.
"Good luck." Baby laughed, before walking over towards Emma, Manny, and Toby.
"Em, your project is gonna be so awesome. I can't believe how much work you did. You are so gonna win." Manny complimented, while Baby helped her put a robot head on Toby.
"Um, no. My project on the effects of light deprivation on household plants is so detailed, so thorough it impresses even me." Liberty bragged
"Don't let her bug you." Baby spoke up, rolling her eyes at the Van Zandt girl
"It's not her. It's my project. It's not working. Two of the kids did better eating junk food." Emma complained
"Really? Who?" The Roberts girl asked, honestly shocked by the information
"Spinner Mason and guess who else?" Emma said, making the blonde laugh that her boyfriend and best friend were both mutants.
"Of course it didn't work on, JT. He's practically made of junk." Baby insisted, shaking her head as he spilt some of his science project in the teacher
JT looked over at the group and smirked as he wiped the goop off of the science teacher. We all looked at each other and groaned.

"COME WITH ME." EMMA DEMANDED Baby Roberts, dragging her down the hall later that day
"Why?" The blonde asked, struggling to pull her backpack on and keep up with the girl at the same time
"He'll listen better if you're with me." She explained, pointing to Spinner Mason by his locker
"Ah. I see." Baby nodded as they walked towards the older boy
"I'm not eating anymore granola." Spinner argued, noticing the two girls and as he quickly tried to get away
Baby grabbed his arm to stop him from leaving, and let Emma speak, "You don't have to. You already messed up my project."
"You messed you my life. Your health food unleashed the beast within." He snapped, turning to walk away, again
The blonde stood in front of him again to try and stop him. "Just hear her out."
"Sorry, Baby." He declined, before his face turned into an expression of embarrassment.
She looked down and saw him cover his lower region with his binder, trying to hold in her laughter so she wouldn't make him more embarrassed, "Is that seriously what you meant by beast."
"I have to go now." He coughed out, trying to walk away
"Wait. I want to go over these results with you." Emma begged
"I probably embarrassed him." The shorter blonde groaned, as she watched her boyfriend walk off
"How did you embarrass his?" Emma asked, frustrated that he wouldn't participate in her project.
"Never mind. I'll talk to him tomorrow ." Baby sighed, before walking the other way

THE SCIENCE FAIR ROLLED AROUND the next day, as all the grade eights stood in the gym, waiting to present their project to the judges
Baby Roberts had just finished presenting her global warming project to the principal, who complimented her and before moving on to JT, who made his own breast implants.
"Seriously?" She asked the boy, who held up one of his designs, squeezing it and laughing. The blonde gagged and turned back to her own project.
It was finally time to announce the grade eight winner, and all the teens huddled in front of the stage, "First place goes to... Emma Nelson for mind-body connection."
Baby Roberts shook her friend, before pushing her up to the stage to accept her prize. Baby and Manny cheered while she held up her trophy.
The teachers began to quickly shoo the kids off to their homerooms. JT and Baby quickly got into an argument about their favorite show, before Mr. Simpson whistled to get the class's attention, "Okay! I know we had fun at the science fair, but it's time to get back to business. Motherboards..."
The short blonde zoned out, until she got a message on my inbox from Manny to our whole class, "Archie Simpson loves Emma's mom." She read in a whisper.
"Manny!" Emma yelled
The class looked around as people began to notice and open the mail. Suspicious, Mr. Simpson went to his computer and opened the email, "Ms. Santos. You will see me immediately after class."

"NOW I HAVE TO WRITE A THOUSAND word essay on internet privacy." Manny complained to Baby and Emma as they walked into the bathroom.
"So, it's true?" Liberty asked, following after the girls
"Simpson is dating my mom. Yes." Emma confirmed, rolling her eyes at the girl
"And now everyone knows. Embarrassing. Of course, I was a victim of gossip last year so I sympathize." Liberty shrugged
"Thanks, Liberty." Emma sighed
"You're welcome. Now let's talk about what you're going to do." She smirked
"About what?" Baby asked
"There was a judging bias in your favor. Simpson's dating your mom." Liberty explained, like it was obvious.
"So?" Emma asked
"So his bias doesn't bother you?" She asked
"Don't listen to her, Em. I've got to go meet with a teacher but I'll see you guys later." Baby insisted, glaring at the second place girl, before picking up her bag and leaving the restroom.

"BOO!" BABY SHOUTED, OPENING Spinner's door to find him face down on his bed, "I'm sorry if I embarrassed you, earlier."
"Trust me. That's the least embarrassing thing that's happened to me today." Spinner groaned, flipping over
"And why's that?" She asked, sitting next to the boy
"I had to perform a scene with Paige in English, and I got a boner."
The blonde laughed, but then quickly cleared her throat, "That sounds terrible."
"Don't tease me, Baby." He groaned, gently slapping her leg
"Oh, come on. Something good had to have happened today." She insisted, trying to cheer up the boy
"Well... I did get Ellie's number today." He teased, smirking as he sat up.
"You did what?" She gasped, smacking his arm
"Oh come on. You know I'm joking." He laughed, pulling the short girl closer to himself
"I brought you chocolate, but now I think you don't really need it." She decided, holding up the box and waving it in his face.
"Hey, now. That's harsh." He smiled
"Yeah, yeah. Here you go, ya big baby." Baby laughed, tossing it to him
"I thought your name was Baby?" He teased, making her groan
"Very funny." She nodded, laying back onto his chest, while he opened the chocolate
"Thank you." He smiled, giving the girl a gentle kiss
