Chapter Ten - Natalie's Pov

Once I awaken, I am on the bed in the hotel room. Lachlan sits on the edge of it, scrolling through his phone, probably checking twitter.

"Wha...What the hell am I doing out here?"

He turns around at the sound of my voice and smiles, "You were in there for about an hour, I figuered that you fell asleep, which you did, and I didn't want you to drown. So, I lifted you out, put you in clothes, and let you sleep."

I rub my eyes, staring down at my clothes that are basically wrinkled. "You dressed me?"

"I've seen you naked before."

"No, I know.. I just, thank you."

"For putting clothes on you?" He chuckles slightly, "It wasn't exactly an easy job."

Once he turns fully around, a worried look grows on his face. "Natalie..." He places a hand on my arm, "Are you feeling alright? You look shaken up?"

"I'm fine." I smile, a fake one of course. "Just take me home."

We headed back into the car, where we drove back home in silence.

"Natalie?"

"Yeah?" I replied in a hushed tone, staring out at the sun.

"Why did you lie to me back there?" The question come from his mouth like poison, and I did not speak so, he continued, "Why won't you tell me what's wrong? I can tell something's up, Natalie, I'm not-"

"Because you'll make a huge deal about it."

"I won't. Just say it."

I took a deep breath, exhaling quietly. "I had a dream... Actually, a nightmare."

"A nightmare about...?"

"I'm getting to that!" I snap, not as harsh as it sounded in my head. "You committed suicide."

"Suicide?" He chuckles, like its a joke.

"Yes suicide!" I shout so, I can make my point clear. "Do you actually want to die Lachlan?" I ask him, cringing while I wait for an answer.

"No... Why would I want to die?" He asks, his tone sounding like he is hurt. "I don't know... I just." There was no way I could answer that. Mostly because I wasn't sure why he would want to die.

He pulls into the parking lot of a gas station, stoping the engine. "Why did you stop?" I ask. "You have a full tank."

He turns towards me, "That doesn't matter... Do you really think I would do that?" His eyes were searching for an answer. "I just don't want you to leave me."

"Leave you!?" His voice raises a little bit. "Natalie, I would never leave you," He places his hand on my cheek. "Not again."

I smile as my cheeks heat up. "That's good to hear."

He leans closer, "Now, I can take you home."

Just when I think he is going to kiss me, he turns back towards the steering wheel and starts up the car once again.

The rest of the car ride is silent. There was nothing to say, and all I wanted was silence. When we had arrived at my house he smiled and said goodbye. "See you tomorrow?" I ask him.

"Yeah, tomorrow."

I unbuckled myself, slowly got out of the car, and closed the door behind me.

I start to get out my phone as I unlock the front door.

I wanted to call my mom.

I haven't seen her since Easter and all I know is that she is visiting family that think I am still so broken hearted over Lachlan. If I went to the U.K with my mom, there would be days worth of hugs and talking about my relationship. Nothing says fun like fake crying to satisfy my family.

"Hello?" My mom questions into the phone. "Hey Mom, how are you?"

"I am great! Everyone misses you back home," She says with a sigh afterward. "Back home? I never lived there."

"Oh yes, that's right! Sorry honey, I had a few drinks earlier... I'm feeling a little juiced." I couldn't help but laugh at her 'feeling juiced.' I don't think anyone says that anymore. "It's alright."

"How are things going with Lachlan?" She asks, "Is there anything there?"

I sigh, "No. There's nothing. I really want there to be... More."

"More, huh?" I could tell there was a smile on her face. Her tone always sounds more soft and genuine when she smiles. "Do you think he wants more too?"

"I don't know."

"I think he wants a lot more," She says with a tone of a voice that is very... Odd.

Other voices start to come through the phone. "Who is that?" I ask, yet my question is answered soon. "Hey Natalie dear! How are you? It's your cousin Belle!"

I remove the phone from my ear because of Belle's loud voice. "Hey... I wish I cold stay and chat, but I have to go!"

"Awe," She sighs, "Call back soon. I can not wait to talk to you!"

"Yeah! I can't wait either!" I lie to spare her feelings.

I end the call and head upstairs to my pig stye of a room. Boxes and suitcases everywhere. Clothes cover my floor, and cups and plates are on my dresser.

I remove my shirt and throw it with the others on the floor. I unzip one of my small suitcases. A band tee or a plane grey v-neck. I grab the band tee and start to put it on, in place of my other shirt. For some reason I felt gross and dirty in the shirt I was wearing. I don't know why, I just felt all grimy.

There is a bang on my door to the balcony, making me jump. I slide my shirt down over my torso and walk over to the door. Lachlan stands with a smile on his face, waving at me. His blonde hair was shining in the sunlight.

I opened the door for him, curious as to why he didn't knock on the front door. "I thought we agreed on tomorrow?"

"Oh waiting is overrated," He says while kicking aside some of my clothes as he steps inside. "Why didn't you use the front door?"

"I wanted to scare you." He smirks at me, rubbing his hands together. "Well, you were successful."

"That wasn't all..." He says, turning and looking out at the sun. "I've only climbed up the stupid ass tree once before, and that was to dance with you after homecoming because I did not get to dance with you."

"So, Natalie," He smiles at me as he gets out his phone and starts to play a slow song, "Would you like to dance with me?"

"It'd be my pleasure." I reply, smiling ever so slightly as he brings me into his arms.

"You're room wasn't as messy before." He comments. "I kinda like the mess though."

"That's good." I say back, resting my head on his chest, listening to his steady heart beat. "I was actually worried that you were going to be grossed out."

"Nah... I am a guy Natalie. Filth is natural!" He smiles warmly.

We dance in silence. Listening to the beat of the song. He would rub my hips every so often, and at least try to sing along with the song.

"You know, Natalie. The last this had happened the dance ended in a kiss." He says, his hand raising up to my cheek. "It did, didn't it? I forgot."

He brings his lips to mine, pulling me as close as he could. "I miss this," Lachlan whispers, removing himself from me.

He walks over and sits on my bed, and sighs. I watch as he pulls out his phone and turns off the cheesy music.

I sit next to him, intertwining our fingers. He stares down at our hands, silently smiling. Once I look up, he is leaning closer to me. "Are you trying to kiss me?" I ask him, smirking. "No."

"Then what were you doing? Trying to head but me?" He laughs, shaking his head. "Okay, maybe I was trying to kiss you."

He leans closer, smiling. Actually it's more of a smirk, basically saying 'I am still going to kiss you.' He is so close now that I can feel his warm breath on my lips. A loud knock echoes through the house. Lachlan leans back, and stands up like nothing ever happened.

"You should get that." He says.

I nod awkwardly, walking downstairs to answer the door. Lachlan follows, probably because he does not want to stay upstairs in my mess of a room.

I open the door to a brown-haired girl, she smiles and says, "Just let me in I'll explain in a minute."

I stare back at Lachlan who shrugs. "Am I hallucinating? Or is Madi standing on my doorstep.

"No you idiot." She steps inside, making herself at home.
