"You know how bored I was this weekend? I went to sleep at 9:30. Cause you stopped texting me back"
"I think I was still doing that paper for Christian"
"I wouldn't have did it. I would've let his ass fail on his own. And he better had pay you like he said"
I nodded, resting one hand under my chin while the other stirred the soupy mashed potatoes and watered down gravy "he did"
" how much he paid?"
"30"
"Oh. Now if you would've said ten I was gone beat the shit outta his ugly ass"
I laughed as some girl approached the lunch table
"Hey Akira. Where yo brother at?"
She shrugged "ion keep tabs on that boy. Y'all probably could find him before I could"
"Well he ducking me so when you talk to him can you tell him I said thank you for standing me up Saturday night"
I looked at the girl while Akira just grabbed her lipgloss out of her bag, seeming used to being approached by Christian's hoes
"Sure. I'll tell him when I see him"
The girl walked off and Akira shook her head "that boy gone catch some one day"
"Don't say that" I laughed
"He is. My brother is a HOE. And he be tryina play me. He stood that girl up cause probably was fucking another bitch"
I just quietly shook my head and sat my spoon down watching Akira put on lipgloss. Once she was done she looked up at me
"Well Anyways. My momma let it slip that we were going to the beach this weekend and she told you to ask ma if you could go. Did you?"
"I'll ask today"
She sucked her teeth " EGYPTTTT"
"I'm sorry but she got off work early Saturday morning so I made her go to sleep after we finished cleaning cause she had to go right back that afternoon and she didn't get off till Sunday morning then turned around and went back noon"
"Dang so you had the house to yourself this weekend?"
"Basically"
"Mann I could've stayed with you all weekend." She said with an attitude and I shrugged
"I mean yeah. I wasn't doing anything"
"You must've been doing something if you ain't text me back"
"Christian's paper then I went to sleep myself" I lied with a little laugh
"You know what I'd do" Akira nodded off towards somebody causing me to follows the direction she nodded in "him"
I realized she was talking about Tremaine. He stood around laughing and talking with some of his friends and Akira chewed on her bottom lip
"Girl I'd ride that dick till my legs fell off. That boy is fine as hell. And he look like he packin too"
When she said that I thought about the grey sweats he wore the other day and somehow that made me remember that I was supposed to text him Saturday
"Shit" I cursed out loud and Akira looked at me
"What!"
"Nothing. I forgot I was supposed to-"
"Egypt" Tremaine's voice cut me off and we both looked. He was no longer standing with his friends, instead he headed over to the table where we were "wassup"
"Hey Tremaine" I smiled, giving him a hug
"You was supposed to text me Saturday. What happened?"
"I got caught up cleaning and I forgot. My bad"
"You good. Whatchu gettin into this afternoon?"
"Hopefully she'll be letting you get into her this afternoon" Akira mumbled but we both still heard her. While Tremaine laughed I looked at her some type of way
"Akira!"
"What? I mean he fine as hell so you need to hop on that or I will"
"Y'all wild" Tremaine still laughed and I shook my head
"It's just her"
"Tremaine!" Christian loudly greeted him as he walked over to the table, dapping him up. Akira rolled her eyes and I just looked down at my food
"Do you have to know everybody?" Akira asked Christian and he pushed her upside the head
"Do everybody have to know about you?"
She was about to say something but stopped and he smirked
"Like I though"
Christian then looked at me "wassup Egypt. You coming to the house this afternoon?"
"Why? She ain your friend so what she do don't concern you" Akira told him and Tremaine laughed
"Look I gotta finish this paper before I gotta go to class. I'll talk to y'all later. And Egypt. Text me whenever you get home" Tremaine told me as he softly tapped my arm with a smile "and don't forget this time"
"I won't"
Akira and I watched him as he walked off and I realized Christian looking at me
"Egypt you better hop on that before I do. I'm tellin you" Akira told me and Christian then eyed her
"You ain hopping on shit. I told yo ass bout being a hoe"
"You should be the last person to call somebody a hoe" she responded back "especially since you got hoes coming to me figuring out why you stood them up Saturday like I'm suppose to have a tracker on your ass"
"I was handling some grown folks business"
Akira rolled her eyes "grown folks business my ass. Should've been doing that paper instead of asking Egypt to do it"
"I paid Egypt good enough. Ain it" he tapped me slightly and although his facial expression didn't change, his eyes held a cocky stare. I just nodded
"You should've charged him more than 30. I would've made him pay 50"
"Ion hear her complaining"
I straight faced Christian catching all of his shots trying to be funny but I couldn't really respond because Akira would then wonder what was going on and I couldn't just see myself telling my best friend that I lost my virginity to her brother Saturday night
"Whatever. Anyways Egypt, don't forget to ask me about the beach cause I wantchu to go"
"You supposed to be coming to the beach too?" Christian asked. I shrugged
"Depends on what my momma say"
I followed his eyes as they stared down my petite shape. I honestly don't know what made him all of a sudden so fascinated with me. I was practically a stick and the only advantage I carried against a few of the other girls was that I had good skin due to the fact that I try my best to keep up with a good skin care routine since I don't wear makeup or anything like that
I just knew in his head he was probably thinking of all the ways he wanted to take advantage of me and I honestly was gonna try my best to avoid it. I already feel terrible about what happened the other night and if Christian thinks ima keep entertaining him than he's wrong

"Don't forget your ask ma Egypt!" Akira yelled out the door as I laughed, getting into the passenger seat of Christian's car getting ready to leave so he could take me home. Once I closed the door Christian started playing music, Roddy Rich, and backed out of the driveway and we started our usual ride to my house. Even though I've rode with him plenty of times, this time was different.
He started texting on his phone while driving and once he was done he sat the phone on his lap before looking at me, turning the radio down some
"Why you so quiet?"
"It's nothing for me to say.." I responded while looking out the window and I could hear Christian chuckle
"You actin like you nervous or some shit"
"I'm not"
"Well loosen up then. Sittin stiff as fuck in the chair"
He touched my lap and if I wasn't stiff before so know I was then
"Christian" I politely moved his hand off my lap while he stopped at a stoplight "Akira would already kill me if she find out about what happened Saturday"
"She ain gotta know" he looked at me "and she ain gone ever know unless you tell her"
"But thats my best friend.."
"Egypt" he grabbed my chin and made me look at him "chill out. I already told you she ain gotta know"
The light turned green and he started driving again with one hand on the wheel
"So wassup witchu and tremaine?"
"Nothing. Why?"
"He live out they by you ain it?"
"Yeah"
He nodded and rubbed his chin "gotta be some. The way he had you cheesing earlier"
"I was not cheesing"
"Lie again"
"Whatever Christian" I muttered. For the rest of the ride I stayed quiet until he pulled up to my house. He watched me as I grabbed my stuff then looked at him before opening the door
"Thank you for the ride"
"No problem" he licked his lips. I got out and closed the door before going inside the house. My momma sat in the chair helping Vaeh with her homework while my brothers made noise from their room
"You home early"
"Yeah I decided to just go ahead and come home since Christian was about to head out"
"Oh. I gotta thank him. He's so sweet for bringing you home"
"Yeah.... I guess" I muttered as I started to walk off and she stopped me
"Oh, and Mrs Gee's grandson came over here to see you"
"Tremaine?"
"Yeah. He asked me if you could call him later I told him I'd let you know" she informed me with a grin and I rolled my eyes
"Don't get too excited momma"
"Why not? That's a cute lil boy and he's a sweetheart... and I can tell he really likes you"
"I'm gonna go call him"
"Have fun.... and don't be round there being too grown!"
"I won't ma" I laughed while walking down the hall to my room to call Tremaine
