"Welcome back. The British Royal family is all that we Americans can talk about these days and I'm happy to say for the very first time, we have a real princess here, please welcome Her Royal Highness, Princess Juliana of Wales, everybody." Jimmy Fallon exclaimed, introducing Juliana.
[ Cheers and Applause ]
"Hi." Juliana waved as she hugged Jimmy then took a seat.
"Thank you. Thank you for coming on the show. I appreciate it because I — we just recently started talking to each other through the dms." Jimmy said.
"Yes, it goes down in the dms." Juliana said, smiling.
"Yeah, because I jokingly asked you to come on the show and I do not think you would respond to my dm but for those who don't know what dm means it stands for direct message." Jimmy said.
"Yeah. I watch your show almost every night so why would I miss out on a once in lifetime opportunity to come on." Juliana said.
[ Cheers ]
"Thank you. You know you have the best instagram for a Royal. I mean you're one of the most followed people on Instagram with 166 million followers. Your photos are very cool and I also follow you." Jimmy said.
"Thank you and I also follow you too." Juliana said.
"Thank you. I think you're a very funny — you're on Instagram, Twitter, you're on YouTube, Facebook. I think it's cool that you're that connected. Do you like doing it?" Jimmy asked.
"Yes, social media is a great way to connect with people. I get to talk about causes that are close to my heart and share things about myself. And I do it myself. And I look at things. I tweet back and forth, and it's fun." Juliana answered.
"I like that. I think it's good that you do that." Jimmy said.
"Yeah." Juliana said.
"I have a question. How do you feel about what's been happening with your brother and sister in law, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?" Jimmy asked.
"I think the decision that they have made, at the forefront of that is to protect their family, Harry has always been very protective of the ones he loves. It's natural to see he want to protect his wife and son. I respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life." Juliana answered.
[ Cheers and Applause ]
"Can you relate to their decision since you stepped back as a senior royal in 2009?" Jimmy asked.
"Our reasons are different but I can relate to them." Juliana answered.
"Would you ever return as a senior royal?" Jimmy asked.
"Way to put me on the spot, Jimmy. [ Laughter ] Seeing as I've accomplished a lot independently. I would of course love to support the Queen as a senior royal if when my services are needed." Juliana answered.
"Great. Do you know when your cousin, Princess Beatrice will be getting married?" Jimmy asked.
"I have no clue but I'm excited for whenever her big day is going to be." Juliana answered.
"Unlike the previous three royal weddings that you did not attend. Will you be there and hopefully with a plus one?" Jimmy asked.
"Oh my gosh! Shady... if I'm invited. Plus one? No, I'm single." Juliana replied.
"Seriously?" Jimmy asked.
"Yes, I know. I've been single for over two years now ... I'm okay with that. I had low self-esteem, and that's something I work on continuously, But I feel so empowered because I've gained so much knowledge about what was going on mentally. My highs were really high, and my lows would take me out for weeks at a time. I found out I do suffer from mental health issues. And, honestly, that was such a relief. I realized that there was a way to get help and to find people that you trust and my life has been completely changed." Juliana answered.
[ Cheers and Applause ]
"That's amazing. What are you looking for in your next relationship?" Jimmy asked.
"I want to know what the love will look like next for me, I want it to be real, and I don't want it to be codependent or messy or have a lack of communication. I'm happy waiting for that for however long that takes because we're going to be like doing this forever. It's just going to keep happening until we're out. I think when you get older, you find people that are actually right for you. But I'm relaxing right now. Honestly, that is so stressful. I've been having way too much fun being on my own. It sucked for the first year... But now it feels good. Now it feels awesome." Juliana answered.
[ Applause ]
"Wonderful. Alright I'm glad you're here, Juliana because we're going to play a game of "Can You Feel It?" The game involves a mystery object placed in front of us and we have to guess what the object is based on touch." Jimmy said as they walk over to the mystery box.
Jimmy kicked off the game by blindly sticking his hands into a box of raw eggs. The audience screamed as Fallon slowly reached inside the box, which made the host more hesitant to touch the mystery object. After poking the egg yolk, he screamed and accurately guessed that the object was an egg.
For Juliana's first round, she had to touch hair in a shower drain. After the audience vocalized their disgust, Juliana picked up the clump of hair. "I feel like it's hair," she calmly guessed. Jimmy then rolled the box away and Juliana said, "I don't even want to see it. Just go away."
Jimmy's next mystery object was a cow brain. He lightly poked the brain and picked it up before guessing that it was "a tongue or something." He continued, "Is it like a chicken or a tongue or something?" The host then looked inside the box and asked for hand sanitizer as soon as he realized what he had touched.
Juliana then had to guess what her second mystery object was, which was a toy bear. After grabbing the object, the toy bear moved and pretended to bite her. "Is it my dog?" she guessed. After giving up, she moved to the front of the box to see the moving bear. "That's so cute," she said.
"Wait, I get cow brain and she gets a stuffed animal?" Jimmy asked.
Them they both went head to head in the final round and had to simultaneously guess the same mystery object, which was a bunch of mealworms.
"Do you smell that?" Juliana asked as she covered her mouth with her free hand. She added that the object felt "like food."
"I think it's food for like a duck," she said. When Jimmy was unable to guess the object, he looked inside the box and screamed, "Oh, my god!"
After learning that they had just stuck their hands in a box full of mealworms, Juliana and Jimmy ran to get hand sanitizer.
"Okay. [ Laughter and Applause ] okay. All right. I appreciate you coming all the way over to our show and coming on with us." Jimmy said.
"Thank you." Juliana said.
