Before first class
"Okay I don't see the problem," Kenneth said
"The problem is Sean and I teamed up in our songwriting class but we ended up writing a song that is meant for a girl to sing," Josh said
"And all the girls are taken in our songwriting class," Sean said
"I can sing it if you want to," Bailey said
"Thanks, but the teacher said everyone has to be from the class"
"I still don't see the problem," Kenneth said "If it's the lyrics just change the words from boy to girl and like that"
"Yean Sean can sing so make him do it," Charlize said
"Well the way I mixed it was meant for a higher voice and Sean can't get that high" Josh said
"Then why don't you-" Bailey said as the bell ringed "I'll tell you at lunch"
"I'll see you all later let me get something from my locker," Josh said
"Catch you in class bro," Sean said as everyone went their separate ways
Josh walked to his locker and got his belongings
"Um excuse me," a voice said
"Yeah what's up?" Josh said as he saw the girl holding a schedule "New kid?"
"That obvious?" The girl said "I'm Kaycee I got here today"
"Joshua call me Josh let me see your schedule," Josh said looking at the schedule "Cool we have the same first-class period"
"Thanks, " Kaycee said as she saw a guy flipping to class "Is everyone here so freakishly talented?"
"Pretty much," Josh said as he leads her to their first class "This is a performing arts school so everyone has some sort of talent it's why there are auditions to get in"
"Yeah what's yours?" Kaycee asked
"I make music, trying to be a producer with somethings on the side," Josh said until he remembered his assignment "What about you?"
"Well I got in on my dancing but I'm trying to be an actor as well," Kaycee said as Josh's mood went back to normal as he still doesn't have a singer
"Dancing and acting? A weird combination" Josh says not in hate but couldn't picture the mix
"Well I don't know if I want to combine them but I like both," Kaycee said
"Here's the first class, acting: improv, you should like it," Josh said as the teacher took notice of the two and headed towards Kaycee as Josh sat down next to his friends
Acting: Improvisation
"New student right! Introduce yourself and take a seat" the acting teacher said
"I'm Kaycee Rice just got admitted yesterday and I look forward to being here," Kaycee said as she sat down to the open seat next to Josh
"Kaycee these are two of my friends Bailey Sok and Sean Lew" Josh introduced his friends
"Nice to meet you," Bailey said giving Kaycee a wave
"Hey" Sean greeted himself with a smile as Kaycee smiled back hiding her face with her hair
"Alright since we have a new student let's do the rhyming exercise," the acting teacher said
"The one where each person has to rhyme the last word of their sentence with the previous person's last word?" Bailey said more for Kaycee than herself who was thankful
"Correct! Let's start with Sage, Mallory, Romeo, and Audrey"
"Hey I'm Sean," Sean said to Kaycee
"I know," Kaycee said wondering what was wrong with him
"I mean... I rather introduce myself versus Josh doing it" Sean said
"Hey!" Josh said overhearing that as Kaycee giggled
"Well it's nice to meet you, Sean, I'm Kaycee," she said playing along
"So, do you like...TV?" Sean said
"Kind of, does Netflix count?" Kaycee said
"Yeah it does, have you seen a show called The Office, it's one of my faves," Sean said
"I love that show it's like my second favorite!" Kaycee said getting giddy about talking about it
"Yes! I've been trying to get the others to watch it but they won't do it!" Sean said
"I just have no interest in sitcoms" Josh cut in
"I promised to watch it with my sisters when they're back in town" Bailey added
"Wait your second favorite? What's your favorite?" Sean asked
"It's an old show called FRIENDS I know it's not-"
"That's my second favorite show!" Sean said
"And that's a wrap," Josh said as she was sitting between Sean and Kaycee so he scooted about a foot back to not intrude in their conversation
"Best friends already" Bailey joked "He loves watching Netflix but has no one to talk to about his favorite shows at least he has someone"
"Favorite character from Friends?" Kaycee asked
"Joey!" they both said in unison
"Favorite character from The Office?" Sean asked
"Dwight! But Michael a close second!" they both said in unison again
"Did we just become best friends?" Kaycee said
"I think we did!" Sean said as they high five together
"You two are freakishly connected already"
"Unagi!" they both said as they point two fingers to their heads then proceeded to laugh
"Now I need four volunteers, actually since she's new Kaycee you come up and you may pick your other three," the acting teacher said
"Um hate to put you on the spot," Kaycee said towards the three she met
"No worries," Sean said as he Bailey and Josh stood up and joined her on the mini stage
"Alright we'll start with Bailey then Josh then Sean then Kaycee and back to Bailey," the acting teacher said, "Remember not the word orange, and action!"
"It sure is interesting that we got a new student in school" Bailey started
"Yeah and she seems pretty cool," Josh said
"Hopefully she doesn't drool," Sean said as the class laughed
"Then I would look like a fool," Kaycee said playing along
"Maybe we can play some pool," Bailey said
"But you don't know how to play pool," Josh said
"Cut! Josh, you're out no repeating words" the acting teacher said
"Acting is not my thing," Josh said as he took a seat
"Start with Sean new word, go!" the acting teacher said
"So, your name is Kaycee Rice?" Sean said
"Yeah I think it sounds nice," Kaycee said
"It rhymes with Josh's last name Price," Bailey said
"The one that looks like he plays with mice," Sean said
"And rolls them like dice," Kaycee said
"With hair full of lice," Bailey said
"Hey!" Josh said from the audience
"Yeah Bailey that was cold as Ice," Sean said
"You gave his ego a slice," Kaycee said
"Well, I um... um... there's no more words!" Bailey said
"Entice?" Kaycee said
"Vice, Spice, Twice, Device-" Sean said naming a lot of rhymes
"Ah ah ah that will suffice," Bailey said stopping Sean
"Cut! Bailey, you're out!" the acting teacher said as Bailey sat down in her seat "Okay start with Kaycee new word"
"So, are you single?" Kaycee asked
"As if I'm ready to mingle?" Sean questioned
"Just if you're alone like a pringle?" Kaycee said
"Are you asking if I want to intermingle?" Sean said unsure if that counts
"Maybe, but you should put your number in for a jingle," Kaycee said taking out her phone
"...ok," Sean said knowing he lost
"Kaycee wins this exercise" the acting teacher "Next group! Let's have..."
"You're a natural," Sean said as Kaycee smiled at the compliment
"Thank you that was actually really fun!" Kaycee said taking her seat
"That was so much fun," Kaycee said as Bailey and Josh joined them
"Yeah you mastered that," Josh said
"Plus, you two flirting made it entertaining," Bailey said as Kaycee looked flustered
"No flirting just acting," Kaycee said
"Yeah" Sean agreed
"Mmhmm," Bailey said
"Oh Bai, Kaycee I think has her class with you next," Josh said trying to remember Kaycee's schedule
"I have staging," Kaycee said
"Same, so I guess I'll take the Rice bowl for now," Bailey said
"Yeah we need to head to our classes," Sean said
"What classes do you have?" Kaycee asked out of curiosity
"Josh and I have the same schedule outside of one class," Sean said "Acting, music producing, dancing, lunch, I have singing Josh has light and sound, then we both end on songwriting"
"Yeah mines like Sean's but I have staging instead of music producing and costumes instead of songwriting," Bailey said
"I have acting, staging, dancing, lunch, singing, and songwriting," Kaycee said
"Great so after staging you can just tag along with Sean," Josh said with a laugh as Sean looked a little scared
"I won't bite," Kaycee said seeing Sean's expression
"It's not that it's-" Sean said
"-Sean! We have to get to class" Charlize said "Hey Bai!"
"Yeah I forget how loud she can get" Josh commented "See you, girls, later"
The boys joined Charlize and headed to their class as Bailey lead Kaycee
"Who was that?" Kaycee asked
"Charlize Glass my best friend!" Bailey said
"And she knows the boys through you?" Kaycee said
"Nope, Sean and Char grew up together they're very close, then me, and Josh, met up because of them," Bailey said "And our other friend Kenny through his brother"
"So best friends," Kaycee said "Nothing more?"
"Interested in the lewser?" Bailey said as Kaycee looked confused "Sean's last name is like the word lose so his nickname is lewser"
"Makes sense," Kaycee said "And I'm not currently looking for a boyfriend"
"Oh, a girlfriend then," Bailey said wrapping her arm around Kaycee who got flustered
"N-no I-" Kaycee said as Bailey started laughing "Ha-ha"
"Sorry had to but hey we're here!" Bailey said as the arrived in the mini-theater area
Staging
"Hey Babe," Kenneth said kissing Bailey on the cheek
"Hey Kenneth this is Kaycee she's new," Bailey said "Kaycee this is my boyfriend, Kenneth"
"Nice to meet you," Kenneth said
"Ditto"
"I'm just happy I can no longer be called the new kid," Kenneth said
"Ken here was new last year and was the new late kid like you are now" Bailey clarified for Kaycee
"Well happy to be your replacement!" Kaycee said
"I like her she should fit in well," Kenneth said as Kaycee smiled
Dance
"And the gangs all here," Kenneth said as they reunited back with Sean Josh and Charlize in dance class
"Well since you haven't officially met Charlize this is Kaycee, Kaycee this is Charlize," Bailey said introducing the two girls
"Hi!" Kaycee said feeling more bubbly today as so far with Josh, Bailey, Sean, and Kenneth were all great to her making her 5/5 and expects 6/6
"Hey, so Sean who's teaching today," Charlize said mostly ignoring Kaycee said which slightly bothered her but it was just the first meeting
"Um... oh Jojo Gomez, she hasn't been here in a while but she's back," Sean said remembering who was going to be teaching
"Alright, kids sit down and shut up," Jojo said coming in class wearing a flashy outfit with shades making everyone shut up "Hahahaha! Always wanted to do that!"
"She's so childish," Kenneth said with a laugh as he never met her
"Yeah she taught our freshman year but went on a tour which is why you didn't see her last year," Josh said
"But in all seriousness, we're dancing to Ariana Grande so make sure you feel powerful, strong and feminine today," Jojo said
Later
"Alright, we'll do groups but first a solo from..." Jojo said walking around the classroom she found the usual suspects in Charlize Sean and Bailey but couldn't help but notice the girl didn't behind Kenneth "You"
"Me?" Kaycee said as Jojo nodded
"Let's go, Kaycee!" Sean cheered first as the rest of the class followed suit knowing it was the new girls first class
"OK! 5! 6! 7! 8!" Jojo counted
Lunch
"Kaycee thanks to you I now believe God is a woman," Josh said as the others agreed
"Guys!" Kaycee said not used to compliments making her feel embarrassed as her cheeks started to change colors
"Kaycee your dancing was incredible! I now see how you got in late because if I saw you do that, I would want you to enroll too" Bailey said
"I'm jealous," Kenneth said
"Thanks, everyone," Kaycee said just accepting the compliments
"Girl one day we have to do a duet," Charlize said as Kaycee just nodded
Charlize was the only one Kaycee was unsure about "Any comments Sean?" Kaycee asked
"..."
"Sean?"
"Don't mind him he's still enamored with your dancing," Josh said as Sean nudged him making Kaycee giggle
"Anyways since I know you all dance what got you into this school?" Kaycee asked everyone "I already know Josh's"
"Well actually most of us got in through dancing except Josh and Kenneth," Bailey said "Kenny's situation was unique but he essentially got in on singing and dancing"
"But we all follow different paths," Josh said
"Yeah Bailey likes acting, I'm interested in singing," Kenneth said
"Right now, I'm solely dancing but I gathering skills just in case some job opportunity pops up," Charlize said
"Just dancing for me," Sean said
"Lies!" Charlize said "Seanie here is a great singer"
"Oh, I'm interested in hearing you sing," Kaycee said which made Sean flash a smile which had made Kaycee smile back
"But Bailey can sing too," Charlize said changing the focus
"I've taken lessons but I'm nowhere near as polished as those two" Bailey said
"Nonsense babe you're amazing," Kenneth said
"Oh, that reminds me the Friday Night Jam is this week," Josh said
"Need someone to sing to your music?" Kenneth said
"Kind of but I haven't found the voice that matches one of my songs," Josh said
"Well who knows I'll keep an ear out in my singing class," Sean said as the two fist-bumped
*bell ringed*
"Alright Kaycee you're with us three," Bailey said referring to her Kenneth and Sean
"Does Charlize have light and sound too?" Kaycee asked as Charlize wasn't coming with them
"Yeah she reasoned that a dancer should know her lighting and it's always good to be familiar with sound as music is such a huge part of dancing," Sean said "But honestly I think she just wanted an easy class"
"Well that's why Josh took it," Kenneth said "He probably would just spend that time writing music"
"Let's go!" Bailey said
Singing
"Oh, new student good, for new students we have them sing a quick hook so we can gauge their range," the singing teacher said "Kaycee whenever you're ready"
"Wow," Sean said
"Yeah she did not mention she could sing," Bailey said
"Singing dancing acting she's the legendary triple threat," Kenneth said
"I think I found the girl for Josh and I's song," Sean said
Songwriting
After the quick introduction
"Kaycee can sing?" Josh said
"Yeah I heard her she's amazing and just the girl for the song," Sean said
"Guys I don't know I'm not that confident in my singing" Kaycee said
"Kaycee it's fine I have lyrics right here and I'll be right next to you with the music," Josh said
"I just don't like singing in public," Kaycee said
"What if I were to sing with you?" Sean said as Josh was surprised
"Like a duet?" Kaycee said
"Yeah anything to calm your nerves," Sean said as he turned to Josh "I'll just replace boy to girl for me"
"If you two are sure," Josh said
"I'm sure," Sean said
"...it's the first day only up from here" Kaycee agreed
"Alright group Sean and Josh time to showcase your song," the songwriting teacher said
"Good, you three get a 100," the songwriting teacher said making Josh pump his fist and Sean hugged and twirled Kaycee until he realized what he did causing the duo to be embarrassed
"Oh, this should be a fun year!" Josh said catching that interaction
