Lucia Mooncrest POV
It's already been a year since I arrived in this household. I mangaed to get both of them to open up to me. They are both 11 but turning 12 tomorrow. Well I have to go and fetch them for breakfast now. I make sure my clothes are neat before heading out.
I slowly opened the door to their bedroom, I went up to their bed and gently shook them. "Time to wake up Sora and Sky" I softly whispered into the ears. I opened curtain, allowing the morning to shine into the dark room.
They groggily got up rubbing their eyes. Sky was the first one to get out of bed, while Sora started complaining usual. I started dressing Sky who was clutching my shirt with his small hands. It was quite the adorable sight.
I turn towards Sora, "If you don't get up no dessert for you today." I say trying to hold my laughter in. He quickly gets up but then trips and falls harshly onto the floor. I gasp and quickly dash to him. I start rubbing his head trying to comfort him.
I could see how Sora was trying to hold his tears back. I didn't know he could cry so easily, but he did his head quite harshly. "Can you please do that thing you used to do to make our injuries feel better." Sora mumbles while fiddling with his fingers.
Did I ever do such a thing, suddenly I remember what he meant. Once Sora and Sky got hurt after playing and were both crying, I kissed their injuries to help calm them down. I thought you only do that to little kids though, oh well whatever. I lift his silky hair snow white hair and kiss his forehead. "Does it feel better?" I ask while softly chuckling. He nods shyly.
I looked over to Sky who was pouting, he looked kind of angry. I say teasingly "Do you want a kiss Sky?" To my surprise he nods his head. I just laugh helplessly and kiss him on the cheek. He then ask for me to piggy back him. I crouch down and let him climb on my back.
Now Sora was sulking, what is with these too children. They seem to have become very attached to me, like overly clingy. They remind me of Asura, I wonder how he us doing. Maybe he found a better life and is enjoying himself. That's all I hope, I want him to be happy. After all he is kinda like my baby brother, I also feel like a mum. Yeah, like an overprotective mother hen.
I extend my hand towards Sora. "Come on, let's go to the dining hall to eat breakfast. I made your favourite." I say warmly, Sora hesitantly held my hand. A dust of pink covered his cute chubby cheeks.
I smile and walk them to the kitchen. Sky had buried his face in my nape, it was kinda weird but I brushed that thought aside.
I pulled the chair out for them and presented their dishes in front of them. I stood on the sidelines but Sora had ordered me to eat with them. I couldn't refuse them as I was mere servant.
"Is there anything you would like to do today young master?" I ask them, they were both stuffing their face. I just laughed helplessly, is it me or did they become less mature. Sora says while pointing his fork at me "I told you to just call us Sora and Sky. I want you to cook us dessert."
I shake my head and sigh, "I can't feed you so many desserts or your going to get fat. Do you want that young master? How about you go study and I might give you an extra sweet today."
Sora just huffs angrily and crosses his hand. He shoot a fire ball at me and I just dodge it casually. I was already used to this, he doesn't get as angry as he used to do. I shiver slightly at the memories of what had happen.
~Flashback~
When he woke up when I sang him to sleep he pushed me off the bed and started shooting fire at me. I wasn't fully awake at that time so I wasn't fully prepared so it burned me.
I yelped in pain, my clothed were set on fire. It was pretty bad. Then the room started going to in flames so I had to quickly evacuate them. Screams of servants could be heard throughout the mansion.
Sora looked like he didn't care and kept setting thing on fire. The flames were growing larger, I was so confused on what to do.
After I made sure the twins were safely outside I rushed back in. I wasn't sure what to do. Suddenly my body started to blow and before I knew it I had transformed, I had different clothes a staff in my hand.
I was so confused, I had learnt in a book I found saying that there were different elements of magic. But right now only fire, earth, wind and water have been confirmed. People believe there is more out there. But I don't this should happen if I possessed magic. Maybe it has to do with all the experiments from the lab I used to be imprisoned in.
Now is not the time for questions I have a larger problem at hand. The clothes were kind of weird, they felt like silk and the staff had a crystal at the centre. I tried to shoot something out of it but nothing worked. I even made some random chants, that didn't work either.
'Can't this thing just summon some water or something.' I thought a little irritated and frustrated. Water suddenly poured all over me making me completely soaked. I thought in my mind to summon a large stream of water to put out the fire. It suddenly started spouting out the staff. I had terrible aim and water just sprayed everwhere.
I somehow managed to put out the fore after much difficulty. I thought to myself to transform back which it did. My clothes were still in pristine condition surprisingly. I walk out to make sure everyone was safe.
I was bombarded with question on how I pit out the fire which I shrugged at, because I couldn't think of a plausible excuse. I don't think I should expose my power.
In my free time I started to experiment with my powers. I had a fire, wind, earth and water form which each had different clothes and weapons.
Sky and Sora almost caught me practicing once, luckily I made up an excuse which they believed. That was a huge relief, if they found out I wouldn't know what to do.
*Flashback end*
After eating their breakfast Sky goes to study while Sora goes to do some sword training. I decide to follow Sky and help him with his studies. I see Sora go up to me and slap me across the face.
He then stormed off, what just happend. I could see rage in his eyes but also sadness? Something felt weird, he looked at me like I was some sort of prey and wanted to possess me. What am I stupid, why would he be possessive at his age, but there was an emotion deep within his eyes which I couldn't recognize. It's probably just my mind messing with me.
I continue following Sky to his study room, Sora probably wants some alone time. He seems really pissed of at me but when is he not. I just can't understand kids.
I begin to teach Sky the basic of magic, history of the country and much more. I push up my non existent glasses and say "That shall be all today. It's time to eat dinner, let us go." He nods and grabs my hand.
I don't really mind if he wants to hold my hand, I might as well dote on them as they are still children. Sky is so obedient but sometimes I wish he would act more like a kid. He seems mature for his age. Yes he can be clingy but he doesn't every complain and is so quiet.
Maybe Sky and Sora should make friends their age and they can open up more. Well I'm not sure what there grandfather will say.
After I made sure Sky was seated I went to fetch Sora. When I get there he was panting and glistening in sweat. "Time to eat dinner!" I called out to him. Sora had completely ignored me and acted as if he hadn't even seen me. I sigh and walk over to him. "Am I not good enough! Is Sky that much better then me! You won't even get angry at me. Why are you so nice, are you planning to butter us up then discard us like garbage."
What id he saying, what happend. Am I making him feel i secure, children do need that reassurance. I can't promise I'll stay as I don'tbeling here. "Are you alright, did I do something to hurt you. Come on let's head inside, I'll give you extra dessert." I say trying to light up the awkward tension.
Sora grabs my hand and flashes a happy smile at me as if nothing happen. It's probably best if we forget what happend just now. These feelings of his will probably be gone when he is older.
The dinner was more joyful then usual which is unusual. But I don't mind it, I'm actually glad that they are opening up with me more. I see the master of the house come in. I immediately get up from my seat and pull a chair at him.
"How are my grandchildren doing?" He asks while smiling warmly at them. They both ignore him and don't even bother acknowledging his precense. "Sky, Sora say your greeting to your grandfather." I say in a scolding tone. They both look down, they looked like some sad puppies that were caught doing something wrong.
They mumble a hello and continue eating. Their grandfather sighs and looks towards me. He says in a whisper "I would like to see you in my office today after the twins are put to bed." I nod and serve him dinner that was made by the head chef.
He says "My grandchildren seem to really enjoy your cooking would you mind cooking me a dish." I nod and head to the kitchen. I felt like the twins were giving a death stare at their own grandpa, probably just my imagination yet again.
I whip a quick dish. It was a simple fish dish. I went back to the dining room to serve his food. There was awkward silence and a lot of tension in the room.
I cough and say "Here is your food master." I place the plate of food down and stand to the sidelines. The twins grandpa elegantly ate his meal, his face was indifferent. Did it taste bad? Then I hear him say "Whenever I come down here to eat I would like if you could cook my food, this is quite delectable." I nod and stay silent, I didn't really know what to say towards him.
After dinner was finished some maids came in and took the plates of the table. I told the twins to go bath and change into their pajamas. I drew the bath for them and helped bath them. They seem embarrassed which I thought was quite cute. I scrubbed their back and washed their hair until it was squeaky clean.
I got them changed into their sleeping clothes and then they brushed their teeth. After they were finally in bed I sang them a song to help them sleep. If I don't Sky would cry in the middle of the night. They usually make me sleep with them, this is one of the times they act like adorable kids. I can't help but give in to their pleas.
I had to go leave and talk to their grandfather but they grabbed my suit. I say "I'll be back after I talk to your grandfather, I won't leave you. I promise, unless something happens." I say the last part jokingly, I then gently remove their hands and leave.
I stand in front of the large wooden door that was carved beautifully. I take a deep breath and knock on the door. After I was allowed to enter I open the heavy door. I have this bad feeling in my gut.
