Freddy

"I'm sorry, Chica, what do you need?" I sat back in my seat and looked at her.

"Just wanted to know if you'd let me and Foxy sleep in his cove together," she asked quite ashamed.

I could tell like a snap what she really meant, but didn't find any reason to tease. I got whenever they wanted some time to be alone.

"Sure, Chica, 'course you can." I had a slight smile. "Just please keep it down as much as you can."

"Thanks! Don't worry 'bout that," she joyfully said as she headed back out.

Well, what was left for me was to expect no sudden mistakes; they could even mistake a... well... a blessing.

Today I was feeling rather exhausted 'cause the restaurant had never been that crowded, not even the very first day this place opened its doors. It really took me off guard seeing all those people coming to watch Bonnie with us. That rabbit sure was a natural, however, there was a something on him that made me think faster than I usually did. I was used to always think before talking, but those moments the speaking and thinking came up at the same time. Words slipped out against my will, and so did some fidgeting and spasms. It was really strange.

Bonnie was a good boy, and now I regretted how tough I went on him on his first day in the pizzeria. Of course I meant to be since I'd always been in fear of somebody taking advantage of me. If I went to apologize for so, he could catch it as my week spot and start acting different, I didn't see Bonnie as that kind of animatronic though. The only one who tried to do that was Foxy the day he arrived here.

Twelve long years, and still with my spirit high to keep up this pizzeria's administration. It'd always been a thrill to amuse children in company of their parents, which had always been like my life's purpose, and so far I'd never let them down—at least that was what I thought.

Christmas was too soon, basically in less than a month. I had to make this Christmas more special than the other ones before this year is over. I thought that might be a great-late-gift of welcoming, 'cause, well, everybody is happy in Christmas.

I always liked the idea of being by my lonesome in the security office. It was such a good place to ponder, even though I had my own bedroom, but yet I earned being here and be myself, while Chica, Foxy or Bonnie are practicing or playing around. Playing around... That was it! I really wanted Bonnie to get the new-job's weight off his back, and what could be a better way than a board game? What kind of game though? Perhaps Chica happened to know

"Chica!" I yelled from the office. There was no response.

   "Chica!" I repeated.

"Yes?" she replied arriving by the left hallway.

Her entire yellow fur was so disheveled and so was her apron. She got purple lipstick all over her beak.

"Is everything ok?" I asked, though it was too obvious the answer.

"Yeah, just... fell down in the bathroom," she tittered loudly.

"Uhh..." I gawked with half-opened eyes. "Are you too busy? 'Cause if you are, I can call you later—"

"No, no, no. Tell me what you need," she insisted quickly.

"I was wondering if you'd like to bring a board game for all of us to play together tonight. This is more for Bonnie's sake, y'know he's new."

   "Sounds good to me!"

"But I also wanted to ask you something... You know what kind of game we can play?"

She thought for a few seconds.

   "How about Face to Face?"

   "What's that?" I asked puzzled.

"It's a board game that makes us do challenges, like... lick the floor, eat ketchup, shower with cold water, etc."

"Really?" as I asked, I scoffed because of those stupid challenges.

   "Yep, it's funny!" she insisted.

"Do you think Bonnie will like it?"

"Well, let's just find it out."

I wondered for a while looking down.

"You're right, let's do this, "I said as I got up from my chair I was on.

"Good, then I'll meet ya, Foxy and Bonnie in five minutes in the stage, ok? I'm gonna go to my room."

Chica left quickly the office while I kept in here some more.

To be honest I was afraid of Bonnie's reaction when he knew the game. He could think it was a dull game or too hard for him to take until he got scared and didn't want to talk with us ever again, or something worse, but I actually had no idea about another game to play, so I just trusted in Chica's idea. I headed towards Bonnie's room to invite him over.

I kept walking by the left hallway until I got to the dining area, where the white tables were and Foxy's cove to my left, which was where he slept. I stopped nearby and heard Chica and Foxy mumbling to each other picking up stuff inside. Guessed they didn't do as well as they expected. Anyway, I reached the backstage where all of the bedrooms' doors were. The door of Bonnie's room was closed. As I stood before it, I knocked.

   "Yes?" Bonnie asked.

"It's me, Bonnie, Freddy. I was wondering if you'd like to come and play with us for a while, just for tonight."

   "Oh, sure! I'm coming."

"Ok, we'll see ya at the stage, ok?"

   "Ok."

I went to the stage alone afterwards.

No one had gotten out of their rooms yet, and they were already late; peeking at times didn't take them out. Zoning out wasn't amusing at all, so I grabbed Bonnie's red guitar, which was next to me, although I had no idea how to play guitar. From a young age, I wish I could play it as good as the best guitarists ever, but just as well as I knew myself, I couldn't, so I decided to keep up the work I was good at, and one of them, actually the best one, was singing. I loved singing to myself, to people, to my friends and so forth. It'd always been like giving away what was inside my heart.
As I witnessed my terrible way with guitars, Bonnie walked out of his room. He was wearing the black tank top; he did look like a tough guy with it and those rock gloves. No wonder that gift was such a great idea.

   "Hi," Bonnie waved at me.

   "Hey."

"So... Where's everybody?" Bonnie asked as he looked around.

"Honestly have no idea. They should've been here ten minutes ago."

"I see, then I guess we have to wait."

"Yeah," I said pulling a slight smile.

After Bonnie said that, he looked at his guitar on my lap and asked me excited.

   "You can play guitar?"

"Uh? No. When I was kid I wanted to learn, but I guess this ain't my thing." I placed his guitar next to me.

"Oh, well, if you want I can teach you someday." I saw him blushing again.

"We'll see." I studied the guitar and Bonnie's glance. "Thanks."

"Alright, folks, ya ready to be beaten?" Chica said hopping towards us with Foxy; he was just walking.

"Hey, Bonnie, have ya played Face to Face before?" Foxy asked.

   "No," he replied quietly.

"Well, I'm gonna explain you how to play it, 'k?" Chica said.

   "Ok."

"Explain to me, too," I said before Chica started to speak.

"Yeah, for you two." She stood in front of us with the game in her hands. "This game's called 'Face to Face'. I dunno who the heck called it like that, but whatever. We must take a little dice inside the box. The number that the dice shows will be the difficulty of the challenge: 1 is for the lamest challenges, and 6 are for the hardest ones, that's the scale. There are a lot of little cards: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and they'll show us what's going to be our challenge. You can win by fulfilling all of the challenges. The winner will set a challenge to whomever they want to do whatever they want, the losers will have to do whatever that whomever set."

"Thought the winner should deserve a better award," Foxy stated.

   "Like...?" she asked.

"We can make the loser does more: the worst player will have to clean all the pizzeria for a week by their own." Foxy swayed his hook in front of him.

"Deal," Chica said with a challenging sight, "are you on board, guys?"

   "I am," I firmly said.

Bonnie looked at me after I said that, then he turned to Chica.

   "Yeah, I am as well."

"Alright! Now we have to sit in the center of the stage forming a circle," she said.

We went to sit on the stage: Bonnie was by my right side and Foxy by my left one. Now that this was about to begin, I got hit by that annoying pumping. Ok, just calm down, calm down.

"Ok so... who wants to start?" she asked.

"I will, just to show ya who's the man around here," Foxy said in a pirate tone.

"Alright, Foxy, here's the dice." Foxy took the dice; he started to shake it while looking at the game with six piles of white cards, then he threw it.

   "2." He read.

"Let's see your challenge, hun," Chica said.

"Hold your breath for one and half minute," Foxy read loud. "This is stupid! I can't even hold it for one single minute!"

"I'm sorry, baby, you have to." She shrugged that off.

I looked at Bonnie and he was giggling unsurely about Foxy's challenge. Actually that glance of his had relieved me pretty much, for he seemed to be having a good time, so I got nothing to be worried about now.

   "Argh, here I go!"

As Foxy said that, he took a deep breath 'til his beige furry chest puffed all the way out. Chica was counting silently all the seconds from zero to ninety.

"C'mon, Foxy, you're doin' great!" Chica cheered.

"Yeah, Foxy, you can do it!" Bonnie did too.

Foxy had gotten all eyes on him, but soon he started kicking around and losing his self-control; it had been just thirty seconds.

"Hold it! You're almost done." She still believed he could make it.

As we kept staring at Foxy, his face literally purpled up, his eyes weren't moving anymore and he left his body tipped backwards over the stage, still with the same position he was sat. Chica laughed her ass off and then got up to face him on the floorboard.

   "Sorry, you missed."

Foxy started to breathe again leaving behind that purple color in his face. Bonnie was laughing softly by seeing Chica helping Foxy on his feet. I couldn't help but chuckle under my breath.

   "I did it?" Foxy asked.

   "No," I laughed.

   "Oh shit!"

"Well, at least you tried," Bonnie said empathically.

"Ok, now it's my turn," Chica said.

She took the dice and then tossed it.

"5," she said as she started to read her card. "Eat one tablespoon salt. What!?"

Our circle was filled with laughing when we heard the challenge.

   "Eww... Gross!" Bonnie winced.

   "C'mon, baby. Now," Foxy teased.

Chica went to the nearest table and fetched a spoon and a crystal salt shaker, and then she filled up the spoon in front of us.

"Do I really have to do this?" Chica asked looking at us with the spoon in her hand.

"Foxy held his breath, now it's your turn," I said.

"Ok." Chica looked worried at the spoon and then pointed it to her beak.

She, with her eyes closed and frowning, ate quickly that salt; however, it wasn't gonna remain tasteless inside for too long. As the spoon got into her mouth, her eyes widen and she closed tighter her beak, as if she spotted a car that was about to hit her.

"Fucking God!" Chica yelled with her beak full of salt.

We were laughing our butts off watching how she was kicking around and still shouting; couldn't help but just stare.

"Eat it up!" Foxy exclaimed between his laugh.

Chica was still squealing. She got on her feet and started to run over the dining area. We all were motionless on the stage staring at the chicken that went nuts. After that slithered all the way down her throat, she came back over.

"That was so gross!" Chica said sticking out her tongue.

"Lucky you didn't puke," Bonnie said between chuckles.

"I don't even know how that was possible," Chica added.

"Well, it's yer turn, laddie," Foxy stated.

Bonnie looked at me first, then he turned back to the game. He took the dice and then tossed it.

   "3."

Bonnie took a card from the three pile.

"Hug the person at your..." Bonnie was reading loudly.

Hug? Hug who? Why didn't he finish? Hug who?
