Evania was making her way back to the dorm from one of her classes. She was passing through the courtyard watching students around her. One student ran past, likely late to class. Another was sitting on the grass talking with a friend, and another was sitting on the bench going through a binder.
The vampire couldn't help but smile softly at the people around her enjoying life in the school. She turned her head back just in time to catch a man shoulder her, nearly taking her off her feet.
"Watch where you're going, Mute." He growled.
Evania looked up at the man who towered over her. He wasn't largely muscular, but he looked like a track runner. His face was chiseled to perfection, and one look at his eyes told him why.
He had purple eyes. The same purple eyes as her Sylvia.
An Incubus? Evania thought before quickly signing an appology and ducking her head down as she went to turn away.
"Wait... You've been marked by Sylvia?" He questioned.
She looked back at him curiously before touching a hand to her neck to check for a hickey. Did Sylvia really do that to her?
"No you idiot." The man rolled his eyes. "Her scent is all over you." He smirked devilishly. "I think I just figured out how to get back at her for-" He reached for her and her eyes widened in fear. She opened her mouth to shout, but thankfully she didn't have to.
A quick burst of heat before a flame lit up between them. When Evania's eyes refocused, Kai was standing in front of her with her hair lit aflame. The man stepped back before glaring forwards. "Are you serious? Of course she has people watching out for her. The stupid mute-"
"Is the Daughter of the Headmaster of the school, and you will respect her like any other person." Kai snarled.
"You think just because you're a God that you can just-"
"Burn you till your nothing but ash and get away with it? Absolutely. Beat it." Kai ordered, pointing to the side.
He growled then turned and walked away but Kai didn't move until Evania gently took her arm as a silent thank you. Kai didn't say anything, but she could feel how much the vampire was trembling. Her hair dimmed, and she put her hand over Evania's who pulled her into a hug.
Kai wrapped her arms around the girl, gently rubbing circles into her back as the vampire tried to calm herself down.
Sorry. Evania whispered in the fox's mind.
"Don't appologize for other people's stupidity. I find bullies to be disgusting, and will always step in." Kai explained. "I probably get into more fights than anyone in this school. I'm not entirely sure why I haven't been expelled."
Because my mom knows you're only doing what's right. Evania answered.
"Are you okay?"
Evania's grip tightened a bit before she stepped back. Just thinking about what could have happened caused her thoughts to run rampent with worry. She tried to tell Kai she was okay in thought but couldn't focus enough to send her thoughts out. She went to sign, but then winced realizing that Kai wouldn't be able to see it before sighing in frustration as her anxieties crept back up on her.
Kai picked up on her emotions quickly, reaching forward and pulling the girl back into a hug without saying another word. The fox's ears folded back even though her expression was still mostly calm giving away her own emotions. Evania let out a shaky breath before focusing only on her own breathing, and the comfortable warmth that Kai's body was giving off. A warmth that seemed to suck the anxieties from her body.
It wasn't like hugging the succubus, where her emotions felt eased. It was as if her negative emotions were literally being removed from her.
Her thoughts were mostly clear, but she didn't trust herself to send a successful message. So instead she stepped back just enough to take Kai's hand and hold it palm up before she traced letters in the fox's palm. Kai's ears twitched curiously before a soft smile spread across her face as she realized what was happening.
"Thank you." Evania spelled out. "I'm okay now."
"I can feel your emotions. I know you're not quite there yet, but I'll leave you alone if you want me to." Kai answered.
"How did you make me feel better?"
"It's hard to explain. My mother told me that she and I can pull negative emotions though contact. Like our nature simply erases all bad feelings." Kai shrugged. "I wouldn't know for sure, I just know what my mother told me. Can I at least take you back to your dorm?"
"You don't know how to get there. And if I brought you, then you wouldn't be able to get back."
"I can stay till Chysolite can pick me up. I'd like to be with you until Sylvia can get to you."
"You don't have to babysit me."
"It's not for you, it's for me." Kai answered. Evania stared blankly at the girl who seemed to realize her shock so she continued. "I'm kind of lost."
Evania couldn't stop the smile from spreading across her face. She did her best not to laugh, knowing that the fox was blind, and had a very good excuse to be lost. But the thought of a Goddess getting lost was amusing to her.
Kai rolled her eyes as her tail flicked behind her. She reached out, gently touching Evania's cheek getting her to blink curiously, before being flicked on the nose. Evania stepped back, putting both her hands over her nose as Kai crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm glad I could entertain you. Take me back?" She held out her hand.
The vampire stared at the offered hand before taking a deep breath. Instead of taking her hand she stepped forward and took the fox by the arm the way that she had seen Zali do many times before. She focused her thoughts on Kai's as the fox smiled softly at her. You prefer being led like this don't you?
"It makes it harder for my guide to let me bump into things yes." Kai confessed. "Shall we be off then?"
Evania tapped Kai's arm before heading off and leading the fox with her. On the way Evania checked her phone finding a text from Janet's phone.
So Sylvia wants to know "Who the fuck is touching you" right now.
Evania couldn't fight the smile that spread across her cheeks.
It's Kai. She gave me a hand earlier with an idiot and now I'm leading her back to the dorm because she doesn't want to leave me alone. She says she'll leave when Chysolite comes and gets her but she wants to make sure I'm okay until Sylvia gets here. Considering the panic attack I almost had I'm grateful for some Divine Intervention.

Evania definately did not expect an image of Sylvia to pop up on her screen next. The succubus was sitting with her chin in the palm of her hand, facing the front of the classroom that she was in while her eyes glared out the window to her left. The pout on her face didn't diminish her beauty in the slightest, and her flushed complexion didn't hurt either. She was flustered. She was angry.
She was jealous.
Another text message popped up under the image.
You're girlfriend looks hot when she's jealous. <3
Evania couldn't stop the blush from spreading across her cheeks as she looked back up at the image on her phone.
She was wearing a low cut shirt that showed off quite a bit of shoulder and collarbone, but not enough breast for it to be slutty. Some of her tattoo like markings were peeking out but they only drew attention to her skin and neck. Her hair was tied up, but a few pieces came undone around her face.
Evania could imagine the succubus huffing and blowing the hair out of her eyes.
BANG!
"Are you okay!?" Kai asked.
Evania's knee stung from tripping over the trashcan. The vampire fell onto her rear and growled lowly in pain. Not enough to let out a voice, but enough to portray her pain to the Fox who chuckled and knelt down beside her.
"Where does it hurt?" She asked holding out her hand palm down.
Evania raised an eyebrow before guiding her hand over her sore knee. Kai's magic sparked to life and the pain vanished instantly before Kai helped her to her feet. "You're supposed to watch where we're going, though I guess I'm glad it wasn't me."
Sorry. Evania answered.
"What had you so distracted?"
Janet is texting me. Sylvia is jealous that you're touching me. Evania explained, putting her phone in her pocket before taking the fox's arm again where they continued back towards the dorm.
"She knows better than to think I'm flirting with you. I have Chysolite already."
I think she knows that. She's just... well... being Sylvia.
"She's being a good girlfriend." Kai explained. "She's jealous, but she's trying not to make you think she's super clingy. But it's hard not to be when you can feel everything your girlfriend does."
"I'm sure."
Evania was quiet for a while longer as she stared at Kai who set her glass down on the table and waited patiently. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
"Kai?" She called, barely above a whisper.
She heard her couch move a bit, and she opened one eye to check on the fox who didn't seem to have moved much, other than her tail moving back onto the couch like she went to wag it. Her ears flicked once again before turning back to where Evania's voice had come from.
"Are you better at controlling it? Or is it stronger when it's an order?"
Evania swallowed like she couldn't believe the was doing this at all. "Kai, stand up."
Kai tensed up almost like she was in pain. Evania moved to her feet and leaned forward like she was scared but Kai raised a hand to her before exhaling deeply. "I'm okay." She answered.
Are you sure? That didn't look good.
"One more time please?"
Are you sure?
"Yes."
"Stand up."
Kai flinched again, this time no where near as bad. She let out another breath with a smile. "See? I'm fine."
I don't like it. It's not right.
"I have a resistance to your voice." Kai explained. "You don't have to worry about talking to me if you have to."
I can write messages in your palm if I really need to. I don't want to use my voice. Other people don't have divine resistance.
"You can do whatever you like Evania. I'm simply letting you know that you can speak to me if you really need to. If you never need to again, then you never have to. But if you do, I'll be okay."
Evania didn't really know what to say, so she stood up just as Sylvia nearly broke the door down. "Eva!? Are you okay!?"
"What are you doing home early?" Evania signed.
"You were talking!" Sylvia answered. "I was worried!"
"I asked her to talk to see if I could resist it. Turns out I can." Kai explained. "I told her she never had to if she didn't want to, but I wanted to know if I could."
Sylvia charged into the room and pulled Evania into a tight hug. "Janet told me you were with Kai, but I was still so worried. I didn't feel much before you hugged Kai, but I thought someone hit you!"
He bumped into me. But I'm fine.
"I was freaking out a little."
I'm okay.
"You say that but."
"I'm fine Sylvia." Evania answered, glancing at Kai to make sure she was okay, and sure enough the fox only smiled at the sound of Evania's voice before giving them a thumbs up, letting the vampire know she was fine. So Kai looked back up at Sylvia with a gentle smile. "Kai may have helped me this time, but I have you to look forward to everyday. So I'll be fine."
Sylvia glanced over her shoulder at Kai before smiling. "I guess so."
