AU: Red string of Faith the connect two people

The body is made of complex organs and blood vessels that connects all our parts of the body, but there was one special vessel that connects our heart to our pinkie. It was said that the pinkie was a representation of out heart, that's why in some cultures promise using by crossing our pinkies.
According to legends, a red thread tied by the Gods on a person's pinkie continues to flow and goes to intertwine with another person, connecting your heart with theirs. those two people are destined to meet one another in certain circumstances and become lovers.
The world seems to stop as the both of you stare at each others eyes, It took you a moment to notice that a red thread was attached to your pinkie connected to his pinkie.
realization hit you as you recognize him.
"Muichiro?" you asked carefully, a little but hesitant.
"..."
"Don't you remember me?" you asked again after being ansrews with silence.
"stop playing around, it's me (Y/N)"
"I don't know you" he answered coldly as he walk pass you, but he suddenly stop and turn around to face you.
"Don't tell anyone about these" he said as he motioned to the red string on each others pinkie. he look so cold and determined to keep this a secret so all you could do was nod you your head.
after that day, you spent your time following Muichiro around, though he would pretend you don't exist you continued to cheerfully talk with him.
"Then Tanjiro headbutted Inosuke and his mask fell off, you wont believe it but Inosuke was much more beautiful then me..." you continued to ramble on as you follow Muichiro from behind.
"..."
"there was also this time when we were eating and Inosuke su--"
"You're seriously so annoying! get lost!" he finally snapped as he stop walking and turn around to face you.
"not until you talk to me like a normal person" you said as you smiled at him. then you quickly extended you hand and ruffled his head which he quickly slap away.
"don't follow me anymore" he coldly said as he leave, you took a big sigh as you cross out something on your list on things to do to make him remember you.
Two people destined to be together are bound by fate itself, they are destined to meet no matter what happens or no matter how far they are to each other.
But the threads can sometimes stretch and tangle...
You know Muichiro hate you the moment he saw you, but he hated you more when he found out you two were soulmates, Muichiro hated getting tied down more than anything. but you didn't know he hated you to the point of killing himself.
"I heard You can see the red threads, can you cut them?" Muichiro said to the old woman, which was supposedly good at this kind of things.
"I can cut it, but red threads are tied by the Gods, nothing good will happen if you defy fate" the woman explained, however, Muichiro remain unfazed.
"It's fins, just cut it"
"You're really stubborn, defying the Gods means death, are you prepared for it?" The woman explained once again, trying to convince Muichiro about his decision.
"I don't really care" Muichiro said, remaining determined of his decision.
"why waste your life when you can just accept and be happy with your soul mate" the woman asked
"I don't really get this concept of red thread, soulmates, I don't understand how can I be happy with someone I don't know, someone I really hate, someone that is annoying...just because we are connected by this thread were supposed to love each other? that's a little forced don't you think" he explained, this must be the longest Muichiro have to say.
The woman smiled at him and look at him with a painful expression.
"I want to cut it for you but you're already too late" the Woman said making Muichiro confuse.
"What do you mean?"
"A girl went in here earlier than you, and asked to cut the thread, I gave her the only scissors I have left" The woman said, as Muichiro realize that it was you who went in earlier. Muichiro was about to leave but the woman spoke once again.
"though she asked for a means to cut the thread, I don't easily give away those scissors to anybody...but her reasons moved me...want to hear it?" the woman said as Muichiro turn around again curious to what the woman wants to say.
'Someone would come here later and will asked you to cut this thread, but I heard that the person who cut this would die, so let me die instead of him, I'd rather die than see him end his life because of me'
as the woman say those words, Muichiro immediately ran to leave and find you, he don't know why but his body and mind beg him to find you, he want's to stop you and save you, but from who? from him?
Muichiro ran and ran to find you but somehow the world seems to be against him, as a demon block his path, an upper demon of all times. for the first time, Muichiro cared for someone other than himself, he was fighting the demon not to save himself but to save you.
but, of all times, when defeated the demon his memories come back to him, everything, his parents, his brother and more importantly you.
"Muichiro, when were older let's get married" your 11 years old self told to Muichiro as you childishly grinned at him.
" of course, I'll only marry (Y/N)-chan" he responded as he also smiled and ruffled you hair.
"It's a promise then" you put up your pinkie for him to cross
"It's a promise" Muichiro said as he cross both of your pinkies together.
"I remember now (Y/N)" he whispered as tears gathered on his eyes as he lay down on the ground, exhausted from fighting the demon.
"Muichiro?" your familiar voice said as you collapse on the ground next to Muichiro. his eyes widen as he took in your injured body, bruises and cuts cover your body and now a pool of blood start to surround you.
"What happened to you?" with all his strength, Muichiro crawled next to you and examined your wound.
"a demon attacked the village, I guess his a lot stronger than me" you painfully muttered as your breath become uneven.
"you idiot! why did you move around, your loosing too much blood" he shouted trying to stop the bleeding.
"I went to find you" you whispered
"You idiot" Muichiro began to sob as realize it's already too late.
"why now that I remember you" he said as he grip your hands that was turning cold.
"you remember me? I'm glad" you said as you try to breath but it was getting hard.
"...(Y/N)...I'm sorry so please don't leave me" he sob as he cradle you next to him, your head resting on his chest. then suddenly, Muichiro saw the red thread connecting the both of you glowing.
"The thread...you didn't cut it?" Muichiro ask as he saw the thread more clearly now.
"I already cutted it....because I don't want you to die" you explained as Muichiro felt guilty and regretted everything.
"I don't know what happened but please (Y/N), I love you so don't leave" he sob as you start to slip away.
"sorry Muichiro....I ..Love...you..too" you barely whispered as you turn cold and your body limp, Muichiro feeling these pulled your body closer to him. he stayed like that until he himself fell asleep and other demon slayers found you two.
The threads can sometimes stretch and tangle but it can never be broken, even before you were born the thread were already tied to you, it just takes time for it to show itself.
