Quirk: Hydrokinesis

Since joining UA I had not been a very useful student. My quirk has the ability to control water and since my mother, from whom I inherited this quirk, passed away my father had constantly told me that my quirk was going to get me nowhere in my dream career as a hero. It didn't help that he had a quirk allowing him to grow vines from his skin, as my water only made his vines grow stronger, so sparring against him didn't help me in the slightest. On top of that I had not done well on the entry exam, and I was surprised I even got into this prestigious school. I was not helpful in the USJ incident as I was inconveniently placed in the dry zone where my quirk was next to useless and I was knocked out of the Sports Festival on the first round.

Incredibly I was still taken on by Backdraft's Hero Agency, although as we share the same quirk perhaps there was little surprise. Throughout my week with Backdraft, he told me of all the truly amazing power our quirk is capable of. As a result of being constantly put down by my father, I had never truly explored my quirks capabilities, that was until Backdraft practised with me day and night, helping me manipulate more and more amounts of water, teaching me how to control and hover water high in the air to figure out how far my quirk could travel, and finally he was teaching me to walk on water. The week finished way too quickly, and I had enjoyed every second of it, my eyes now wide open to the strength and power my quirk held, despite it perhaps not being so effective on my father.

When I bade farewell to Backdraft, he assured me we would one day meet again. He told me that he expected to see me as a fully qualified hero when that day came. Since then, the incident at the summer camp had occurred, and thanks to my quirk I was able to put out the forest fire within minutes. I had also managed to help Tetsutetsu and Kendo successfully trap the gas villain in a ball of water, preventing his gas tanks from leaking. It took plenty of concentration as I had to hold him in his watery prison until the police officers came. From that day on I had felt much more confident in myself, and I hadn't realised it, but I had managed to attract the attention of a certain white and red haired boy.

Slowly creeping out of the dorms with my UA swimming suit underneath my tracksuit and towel in hand, I walked in the darkness from the new UA dormitories towards the school. Using my keycard, I scanned open one of the back doors, and crept along the silent halls, up the stairs towards the rooftop swimming pool which was closed by a glass roof at night. I had been coming here every other night to train, and Principle Nezu was aware of this as he could see when a keycard was being used, but despite me breaking the rules he didn't stop me. Halfway up the last flight of stairs I stopped, my ears alert as I could've sworn I had heard the gentle noise of a door closing. I peered into the darkness but didn't see any sign of movement, nor did I hear any footsteps, so I continued up the stairs towards the pool.

Once there, I opened the doors, the familiar smell of chlorine hitting my nose. The pool was large and deep, perfect for me to practice in, and to the right there was a door leading to the changing booths. There were also many chairs lining the wall, for those that wished to come and watch. I placed my towel down and stripped, putting my tracksuit underneath it. I approached the edge of the pool, feeling the filtered water slowly splash up against my foot.

Starting with a few simple exercises, I breathed in deeply and elegantly rose my hands into the air, some of the water being pulled from the pool and rising up in spirals, mirroring my actions. I rose these spirals higher and higher before imagining a dolphin in my mind, the spirals turning into the shape of one and playfully diving back into the rest of the pool. After a few more repeats, I decided to take it a step further. Concentrating hard, I created various different sized balls, the flow of each starting steady and building up speed. I created more balls, and in front of me it looked like I had created a watery solar system. I released them and they each fell into the pool with a loud splash, but before droplets of water landed all around the pools side, I had managed to catch them in the air, and slowly reverse them back into the water.

"Not too bad," I smiled, looking down at my hands. I glanced towards the steps leading into the large swimming pool and a mischievous grin appeared on my face, thinking of something I had wanted to try for a long time. I stepped down the first step, the luke-warm water encasing my feet. Staring at the water, I clapped my hands together, as though to get it's attention, and with all the strength I could muster, I pushed my hands away slowly, the water following my movement. The water separated, breaking apart until two gigantic walls of water formed either side of me, and I was able to walk on the bottom of the pool. I laughed at my capabilities, trying to take it a step further. I allowed some of the water to break free from its restraints, and to encase my legs. Still keeping the water separated, I concentrated on rising myself up and allowing slowly allowing the water to meet underneath me. I rose higher and higher until the pool was able to flatten itself down again, with me hovering above it. Taking a deep breath, I lowered myself, concentrating even harder, and dropping the water around my legs. For a few glorious seconds I was actually standing on the water, until I laughed at amazement which broke my concentration causing me to fall in the pool with a sudden squeal. Resurfacing, I gasped in the air I needed and treaded water, looking at my hands and feeling completely elated.

"That was very impressive," a voice said, making me jump out of my skin and turn around harshly in the water. Standing on the pools side was Todoroki, with a shy smile on his face. My heart beat quickened as it always had done around the attractive male, and I unwillingly blushed at his comment.

"Thanks Todoroki, what are you doing here?" I asked, swimming to the pools edge and resting my arms on the side.

"I was just walking when I saw you, thought I'd see what you were up to... I guess," he said sheepishly.

"O-oh," I said, unsure of how to respond. "Well, I guess I'm not up to much."

"What I saw just now was really good, (l/n). I know you have a habit of putting yourself down, but really, that was impressive," he said with a rare smile which made my heart flutter just that little bit more.

"Thanks, that means a lot coming from you," I said, twiddling my fingers.

"Coming from me?"

"Well yeah, you're one of the most powerful people in our class, possibly in the whole school," I pointed out and he shuffled his feet. "Come on in, the waters lovely!"

"Ah, no thanks, I haven't got my trunks on," he pointed out.

"You're wearing tracksuit bottoms, I'm sure they'll be fine getting a little bit wet," I teased. He laughed for a split second before nodding, pulling his top over his head. I couldn't help but stare as he revealed his abs. They looked rock hard, and his arms were so irresistible. I could hear him slipping off his shoes and socks, and I was thinking about how this may have been a bad idea as I knew that perhaps I wouldn't be able to stop blushing. Trying to get over myself, I breathed in deeply and turned to face him, seeing him step into the water. I tried to fight my hot cheeks as he waded over to me.

To try and break the awkward silence, I came up with a great idea. As he approached, I splashed his face with water, hopefully initiating a splashing war. "Hey! What was that for?"

"C'mon, it's just a little water," I teased, splashing him again.

"You're on," he said with a small grin, splashing me back. We swam around the pool, me submerging myself to try and avoid his splash attacks, me cheekily using my quirk. "I'm at a disadvantage here! You can control water!"

"Scared a girl is going to beat you?" I asked, swimming on my back so I could still see him.

"I say no quirks," he said, approaching me fast. Suddenly the water around me turned cold, ice cold, and I realised he was activating his quirk.

"H-hey!" I shivered, stopping and wrapping my arms around my body, kicking my feet to keep me above water. "Y-you said n-no quirks!" I shivered.

"As if you would've stopped using yours," he said with raised eyebrows, which was the truth. I smirked and managed to lift small dart of the ice cold water and sent them straight at him, them splashing on his face, despite the cold not having much effect on him. It soaked his entire head however, his hair falling down over his eyes. He wiped his face, and I stared at him, trying to act innocent. "You're gonna pay for that," he said, swimming fast towards me. I squealed and tried to swim away but he grabbed me and twirled me around in the water, as though threatening to dunk my head under. I laughed and as he stopped me gently put me down, my tip toes only just managing to touch the water. At the same time we both realised how close we were to each other, our faces merely inches apart, our chests almost touching. I gulped, staring into his heterochromic eyes, him staring right back at me. Butterflies formed in my stomach, and we both stepped away from each other quickly, not looking at each other.

"It's gotten quite late, do you think we should head back?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"Hm? Oh, yes, perhaps. Although first I want to take a few minutes in the steam rooms... do you want to join me?" I asked and I noticed him blushing, which was a very rare sight.

"Aren't you... er... naked in steam rooms?" He asked tentatively and I laughed.

"In normal ones, yes, in the school ones, absolutely not," I giggled. He rubbed the back of his head before nodding, and he followed me out of the pool. I dried off the excess water, and got Todoroki a towel from the closet full of spares for him to do the same thing.

"You go ahead, I'll catch up," he said and I nodded, leaving him behind. Stepping into the warmth of the steam room felt glorious, as I breathed in the eucalyptus smell. I placed myself on the tile bench and rested my head on the wall, my eyes fluttering closed thinking about the intimacy that just occurred between us. I couldn't help but think about what it would be like to be with the stoic Todoroki... perhaps I could lure out a secret loving and caring side to him.

Just then I heard the door to the steam room open and in walked said boy, wearing the white fluffy towel around his area, showing off his thigh muscles. "Oh my god," I whispered to myself, staring at him. Thankfully he didn't noticed, and brushed a hand through his hair as though begging me to feint.

"Did you say something?" He asked innocently, and I broke my eyes away from his body and glanced at his face as he looked at me curiously.

"N-no, nothing," I said awkwardly. He walked over towards me, sitting on the same bench right next to me, leaning his head back against the wall.

"That was fun," he said simply.

"Yeah it was," I said quietly. "I come in here every Monday, Tuesday and Friday... you should join me, and maybe help me train?"

"I don't know how much use I'll be, but sure," he said, wearing his rare and gorgeous smile. "Do the teachers not mind?"

"Well it's not allowed, but Nezu knows as I have to use my keycard and hasn't told me I can't so..." I shrugged my shoulders. "It's nice in here, isn't it," I said, taking a deep breath of the eucalyptus.

"Y-yeah it's nice," Todoroki whispered. I giggled, as it was rare to hear him stammer. "What?"

"Nothing, you just seem a little nervous," I laughed. "Does it make you uncomfortable, seeing me in a swimsuit?"

"No, no... I mean yes... no wait I mean... what's the right answer?" He asked, embarrassed, and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Why are you so nervous?" I asked, taking ahold of his hand and looking into his eyes.

"Well... okay. Listen, I - I have feelings for you, feelings I've tried to ignore because I thought you wouldn't be interested in me but I can't keep it in anymore, (l/n), I really like you," he said quickly, looking directly into my eyes. My heart thumped loudly against my chest, not being able to believe what I just heard.

"Y-you like me?" I clarified and he nodded shyly. I couldn't control my next move. I cupped his cheek and leaned in, pressing my lips against his gently kissing him, which he reciprocated. We kissed gently until we both needed to part for air, and when we did we rested our foreheads against each others, smiling at each other, and I loved seeing him smile.

"You know you look better when you smile," I said cheekily, which made him laugh.

"So... you like me back?" He asked carefully, making me giggle.

"Yes of course I do, I wouldn't kiss just anyone!" I said playfully.

"Does that mean you'll be my... girlfriend?" He asked, completely vulnerable. I leaned in again, wanting to feel more fo his soft lips against mine. Kissing him so passionately felt right, we moved against each other perfectly, fitting as though we were a jigsaw puzzle.

"Absolutely," I mumbled into the kiss, trying to act smooth but inside I was screaming, my heart beating fast and the butterflies in my stomach swarming. I lifted my knee onto the bench to make the kiss easier, him wrapping his arm around my waist as I wrapped mine around his shoulders. We pulled apart when we needed air, and gazed at each other in wonder.

"I'm glad to call you mine," he whispered sweetly. Perhaps I could lure out the sensitive side to him.

"Me too," I whispered back, us both leaning in and kissing once more.
