Bucky couldn't focus. You and him had a bet that whoever solved the crossword puzzle first (which tony said was the hardest one he could find) had to buy the other some ice cream. But Bucky couldn't concentrate on his, because he was too busy watching you.
Watching the way your eyes scanned the paper, and how your eyebrows furrowed together as you tried to think of the answer. Watching how your lips pursed together that then turned into a smile that crinkled the corners of your eyes when you got the answer to one of the clues.
He peeled his gaze away from you and tried to focus on his crossword. But the thought of your soft pink, plump lips strayed into his mind. Dammit Buck
"I did it!" Bucky almost fell out of his chair, but when he saw how happy you were he couldn't help but smile. You plopped down next to him on the couch and smiled at him
"You owe me Ice cream mister" you grinned, and he laughed, not even caring that he lost
"Alright let me get my coat" he grabbed His coat and you grabbed yours, and you both walked to the ice cream parlor a few blocks away

You snorted at something Bucky had said about the waitress's nose and gently hit bucky's arm
"How could you say that?" You saw the waitress glaring at you both, and decided you should probably leave soon
"Im just being honest! Come on, tell me I'm wrong" you shook your head at him but kept giggling, grabbing him by the arm and leading him out the door
"Is he your boyfriend?" A little girl approached the two of you as you made your way out, and you smiled at her sweetly
"Yes Sweetie, he's the best boyfriend ever" you hooked your arm around bucky's and leaned your head on his shoulder. Bucky tensed a little but smiled.
"Are you going to get married?" the little girl asked innocently, and you felt Bucky tense a little more beside you
"Uh- um no we aren't... uh she's not- I mean-"
"No we're not married sweetie," you told the little girl when Bucky couldn't get words out of his mouth. You leaned in a little closer to the girl, making sure Bucky couldn't hear you,
"At least not yet" you winked at her and she smiled before running off to her parents
"Aww, wasn't that adorable?" You giggled, walking out the door. Bucky's cheeks were red now, but you figured it was just from the cold
"Yeah uh.. " he gestures at your arm, which was still hooked around his
"Oh- sorry" you shivered, wrapping your arms around yourself trying to maintain warmth
"Here have my coat" he took his coat off and put it around you
"No Buck, you're going to be cold now" you protested, but you were happy for the added warmth
"I can't have you freezing (y/n)." He said with a smile, but you saw him shiver
"Why don't we share then?" You smiled at him but he didn't smile back
"N-no I'll be fine I'll just.." you frowned at him
"Bucky whats wrong? You've been acting weird all week. Was it something I did?"
No it's not, you're perfect Bucky thought to himself, "No- I'm fine I promise"
"Bucky if there's one thing I know, it's when someone is lying. Come on, you can tell me anything" You looked at him with pleading eyes, but he wouldn't meet your gaze
"Im fine ok? Just drop it" he snapped at you, and you took a step back
"Well if you don't want to talk about it fine. You can have your stupid coat back" you threw his coat at him and stormed off back to the facility
Bucky sighed, great going Barnes. He put his coat on and went after you

When Bucky got to the 3rd floor He found all the lights off, except for a faint light coming from your room. He quietly made his way to your room and found you snuggled up in the warm blankets watching tv. When you saw him you frowned but ignored him. Bucky sighed and flicked on the lights. You turned the tv off
"What" you asked him, bitterness seeping through your voice. He looked a little hurt at your words, but you weren't going to take them back
"Look Im sorry I didn't mean to snap at you like that I'm just..." he didn't finish his sentence, and you got more frustrated
"Your just what Bucky? You haven't been yourself in a while and I don't know what to do!" You asked him desperately, and he frowned at you
"Maybe you should appreciate it more. I've been here for you all the time and not once have you thanked me." You were taken aback at what he said, but it made you even more mad
"Why should I thank you when your being such a jerk? Do you even care about me?" You yelled at him
"Of course I do! I care about you more than you think! Why do you think I do all that stuff for you? Let you stay with me when you have nightmares. Let you play with my hair when you're nervous. Give you all of my attention when you need to talk to someone. Why do you think that is??" He fumed, the both of you now standing, faces inches apart with hateful stares
"Why? Why is that Bucky? Because I really don't understand why you do all that one second and the next-"
"Because I'm in love with you!" He cut you off, and you stopped yelling. He took a step back and put his face in his hands. Did he just say he loves you?
"W-what?" You said softly and he ran his hands through his hair, making it all messy
"Because Im in love with you. There, I said it. Are you happy now? Or do I-" you grabbed him by his shirt and pressed your lips to his, making him shut up. He tensed, surprised at what you had just done, but then he eased in tot he kiss, making it a deep and passionate kiss.
"I love you too Bucky." You said once you pulled away, both of you smiling widely before sharing another kiss.
