The older boy wasn't sure how the thoughts entered his mind. He was trying to scroll through instagram and twitter to not think about the insanely cute boy sleeping soundly on the couch.
It was maybe 3 am, and they had spent all day filming at Taehyungs house before coming back here to edit. Jungkook eventually took a break to feed his cat and now the two are napping in the living room.
Taehyung simply wanted to take one photo to post on instagram. He wasn't suppose to be staring for too long and wondering how someone's side profile could look so flawless while they were asleep. Jungkook was even more appealing to be around when he wasn't acting like a crackhead or bullying his friends.
You freak, stop staring.
Taehyung screamed internally at himself and managed to leave and go to the kitchen table where he was currently editing the reveal video. He had kept the part at the beginning where Jungkook called everyone obsessed with his breathing from behind the camera and decided to use a part of his little giggle to bleep out all the curse words.
One of the tabs open on the laptop was to the ravenettes friends channel, Jin, who he only met one time before. Taehyung wanted to watch a few videos if he was to be on the eldest males channel. It only seemed polite.
There was one video in particular, Jin was cooking vegan spicy ramen with his boyfriend Namjoon who didn't seem to be very confident in the kitchen under the watchful eye of the chef. Taehyung giggled and was so absorbed in the content that he didn't hear the rustle of blankets and soft footsteps coming closer.
It wasn't until his voice was dangerously close to his ear that Taehyung realized Jungkook had woken up. "What are you watching?" he whispered, voice still groggy with sleep.
Taehyung ignored the shiver that went down his spine and cleared his throat. "One of Jin's older videos."
"Hm I see," Jungkook hummed, finally standing straight and giving the other male room to breath, "You're doing background research for this weeks series. That's clever."
Taehyung only chuckled and closed the laptop screen. There was no use in trying to argue with the younger boy, he'd fight to the end even knowing he was wrong. "I don't even know what the series is, but pop off sis."
"You talk to Jimin too much." Jungkook noticed, grabbing the water bottle from the fridge and motioning over to the living room. "Let's watch some youtube on the tv."
Jungkook sat back down on his couch and propped his legs up in the coffee table. His cat was still fast asleep by the arm rest and his chest filled with warmth at the adorable site. If only it had a name he could call. "You're very slow." the ravenette said, the space beside him still empty and the youtube logo pulsing on the tv screen as it loaded.
"I'm coming." Taehyung said softly, hurrying to the couch and trying not to show the internal battle of where to sit. The blanket draped across Jungkooks thighs looked inviting and warm and it wasn't hard after that for Taehyung to plop down right beside him.
"I'm stealing some," his voice was still quiet and Taehyung couldn't figure out why he was suddenly acting like a middle school girl. Maybe it was the feeling of their thighs touching, or the low chuckle coming from the ravenette as he pushed some of the blanket over to cover Taehyung as well.
When they were comfy, Jungkook started playing one of Jin's older videos. Of course it had to be one that he knew he was in, and Jungkook remembered looking pretty good in this one as well.
The two laughed and talked throughout the video, sometimes clowning their hyung on the screen and waiting for Namjoon to make an appearance and cause some chaos. Jungkooks favorite was making a joke and hearing Taehyung laugh beside him, he couldn't help but softly at that.
It was already late at night, and Jungkook tried to ignore how quiet it started to get, the laughter turning into soft giggles and soon the weight in his shoulder couldn't be ignored. Part of him froze, not knowing what to do now that Taehyung had rested his head there.
Don't panic. Jungkook carefully reached for the tv remote and turned down the volume before making sure enough of the blanket was over Taehyung.
He could feel the stir in his stomach and tried to convince himself that it was actually his cat sleeping on his shoulder and not this boy he's slowly been itching to pull closer and hold his really nice hands.
This could be his chance, he couldn't help but think. Any moves he'd make at another time could make their friendship weird, but this time Taehyung did it first. Jungkook could always blame sleep in the morning. That's all he really needed to convince himself to not bother moving either of them, gradually feeling his own eyes become heavy before his head leaned against the older boys.
The next morning Jungkook only woke to air blowing on his face and various nudges by whoever felt like being annoying right now. "For fucks sake stop." Jungkook mumbled, keeping his eyes shut and tightening his grip around what he was hugging, hearing a little squeak afterwards.
"Jungkook, wake up." his voice was familiar, and even more attractive when it was deep with sleep from no use all night.
The younger boys eyes fluttered open and noticed the close proximity between the two. At some point Jungkook must have pulled them both down, and Taehyung looked more than surprised to be pressed against the younger boys chest on the couch. "Good morning." Jungkook grinned, only closing his eyes again and tightening his grip around Taehyungs waist. He only needed a few more minutes.
"Do you hug all your friends." Taehyung said. He was trying his hardest to sit up as much as he could, palms pressed the youngers chest so he wasn't so close to his face.
"No." the ravenette mumbled, pulling Taehyung down so his head was now on his shoulder. It wasn't that bad, Taehyung just didn't want Jungkook to hear how fast his heart was beating right now. "Aren't we suppose to be going to Jin's today?" Taehyung tried to make sure the other didn't go back to sleep and he'd be stuck here longer.
Jungkook sighed and loosened his grip from the other boy, which Taehyung took his chance to sit up and scoot off of the ravenette. "Yeah, he said noon." Jungkook pushed the blanket off himself and got up to go grab his phone and ignore all the notifications like usual.
Taehyung frowned a little as he watched Jungkook walk off so quickly. He didn't mean to upset the younger, if that's what he did.
"We should get going." Jungkook said, scrolling through his phone and not looking up. "You can use my room to change."
Taehyung just nodded and grabbed his backpack before leaving into the bedroom. He just put on a pair of light skinny jeans and a red sweater that showed off his collarbones. The dark color always looked nice against his tan skin.
When he walked back out to the kitchen he didn't miss the look Jungkook gave him, he could feel his dark orbs glance down his outfit and part of Taehyung wanted to wear sweatpants now while the other part felt kind of good he caught his attention.
"Alright, let's go." Jungkook grabbed his car keys and the two made it down to the parking garage.
It was a quick drive to Jin's, quicker since Jungkook apparently didn't like the silence in the car and Taehyung was too hesitant to make a move to turn on the radio.
"Took you guys long enough." Jin greeted them at the door with drinks again and metal straws.
"It's 12:06 hyung." Jungkook said, kicking off his shoes by the door and taking the drink with a thanks before walking into the kitchen.
Jin was frozen in his place and glanced at Taehyung who was clutching onto his backpack. "He called me hyung. What's wrong with him?"
Taehyung just shrugged and followed Jungkook into the kitchen. He was surprised to already see Jimin there eating some cereal and laughing along with something Namjoon had said or did. "Guys!" Jimin gasped noticing his friends appear, "I missed you. Come to school and screw your jobs."
Jungkook chuckled and walked by the boy sitting at the table, ruffling his hair and pulling the seat out next to him. "Missed you too."
"Alrighty! We have very little time!" Jin shouted while clapping his hands. "These little nuggets can't miss anymore school so we gotta plan today and then start filming tomorrow after classes!" he gestured towards Jimin and Taehyung, "I'm not sure about you kid." Jin looked at the youngest and he just shrugged.
Namjoon went to the supply closet beside the kitchen and pulled out a bin with notepads and various markers and pens. "You guys are each going to go against eachother and then vote on each other's meals." Jin explained, "Today you need to plan your menus, there must be appetizers and main course and a dessert. I'll buy everything. Go crazy."
Jimin looked like he was in heaven as Namjoon pushed the bin of markers towards him. Today would be a calm day, as long as Taehyung didn't get distracted by a certain ravenette the whole time.
