you and george sat in your garden. the sun was shining, birds were singing and he was awaiting a very important phone call.
the minutes rolled past, his call was late.
"they should've phoned by now."
he panicked. you knew how much this opportunity meant to him.
"patience, my love."
just as you'd reassured george on his definite upcoming success, his phone began to vibrate in his hand. he looked to you with a smile.
"hello? ... oh my god, wow... thank you! thank you, see you later!"
he hung up and placed his phone back down on the blanket you both sat on. you looked to him, waiting for him to tell you what he'd just heard.
george slowly looked up, a proud smile forming on his face.
"i'm playing the royal albert hall in september."
"unreal. well done you."
he reached over and kissed you, cupping your face in his hand.
"thank you."
