"Hi! Welcome to HuggaMug Cafe. What can I get you?" You welcomed the customer as he walked through the door. A tall man wearing a black suit with sleek black hair, who did not look too enthusiastic to be there
"I'll have a.. what is it called? Ah yes two coffees" he said, bitterness seeping in through his voice. You smiled at him and set yourself a goal to make him smile at least once. It was a fun game to play while at work
"Coming right up. Im guessing you're not going to drink both of them. Or are you that tired?" You joked, but still no smile
"It's for my whiny brother. I told him not to stay up late" he gestured to another man sitting at a table outside, watching the birds fly by
"You two are brothers?" They didn't look anything alike, him with Dark hair and green eyes and his brother with blonde and blue eyes. But they were both quite handsome
"I'm adopted. Are those ready yet?" He seemed unpatient, but you just smiled at him.
"Almost. You know I think being adopted is really cool. Because when you're born, your parents are kinda stuck with you. But when they adopt you, they choose you to be their child." You talked to him, putting the lids on the coffees
hw huffed and the edges of his lips slightly twitched, but still no smile
"Here you go" you handed him the coffees and he looked at you without saying a word. You gave him your biggest smile and he took the coffees
"By the way, I like your suit. Very classy." You told him, at a last attempt to make him smile. He gave you a weird look and turned around to leave.
But through the reflection of the window you saw that his mouth was slightly turned up. You got him to crack a smile.
As he walked away with his brother, he turned around to look at you, and you gave him a small wink. He looked down in an attempt to hide his smile and turned back to his brother.
You felt proud of yourself, and hoped that he would come back soon.
