Enirr:

"No!" Salem shrieked, laughing, "Stop it Akjan! It's too much!"

"You're drunk already?" Akjan giggled in her own drunken state, thrusting another shot towards Salem.

I sighed from where I sat. In a booth on the second floor of the club. Up here, the lights were much dimmer and there were less flashy lasers darting about. Not to mention that dreadful music was less so.

"Enirr," Salem slurred sitting beside me, her legs thrown over mine.

I stiffened, watching her carefully, "Yes little one?"

"Why are you so nice to me?" she asked with a pout, "I-I'm not anything special but you're so nice to me. Carter isn't this nice to me. Actually, I think he hates me now. Yeah he definitely does. Something about angel's wrath or whatever. I-I didn't even know he was religious! But he was cheating on me. I'm confused."

I could barely follow her rambling. So instead, I placed one of my hands on her head. She stilled, her breath catching and her doe eyes widening. Deep inside me, I could feel my heart quickening. This human...I truly had grown attached to her.

"Your hair, in the sunlight it glows gold. Like the very beings in the Almighty itself," I tell her softly, "It is true your beauty attracted me however, it would seem the more time I spend in your grace the longer I wish to remain at your side."

She titled her head slightly, her body leaning towards me as her lips neared mine, "So you mean you like me? Like...like-like me?"

I blinked down at her, "I do not understand what you mean. However, I think it is time to go."

"Go? Home?" she sniffled, tears in her eyes, "I don't have a home anymore."

Anger and sorrow coiled around inside me. I knew just the feeling; however, I would not dare allow her to feel such a way. My fingers curled into a fist, that pain I had gone through...I will not allow her to sink to such feelings.

"If you do not have one," I tell her with a small smile, "Then I will become your new home."

"I would like that," she giggled, closing her eyes and curling up into my chest.

Now, it was time to leave this place.

"Akjan," I ordered turning my attention to the fallen angel.

However, she was no longer on the floor of dancing but at the bar. At the bar talking lowly to another fallen angel. My eyes narrowed at the woman and suddenly I feared for the tiny human in my arms.

At the bar Myserien stood. Her lips painted red, with her long black locks curled. She wore a lace dress – dare I call it such – that sat above her knees. She wore sparkling, black heels eight inches tall. It was clear her appearance was appealing, around her human men flocked just to hear her speak.

However, as her glowing aquamarine eyes landed on me she smirked, "Enirr."

My back straightened and I looked over to Akjan who seemed to be watching us carefully. Myserien walked over, her hips swaying as she did. She batted her lashes at me, pushing her glory towards me.

Despicable.

"Why are you here?" I demanded.

Her eyes widened then narrowed as they rested on Salem. As if instincts had it's pull on me, my arms tightened around Salem's sleeping form. Myserien watched the movement closely, then smiled. It was a tight smile – one that I had always given Raphael.

"I got word my darling Enirr was here tonight. It sparked my interest," she purred then frowned, "But I see you have had your hands full. And with a dead girl. No wonder she kept reviving. Naughty, naughty Enirr."

Her words had me shocked. And yet, suddenly everything had become so clear. Akjan groaned, walking over to my side. I allowed her to take Salem from my arms. Although I did not approve of how she slung the little human over her shoulder, I was grateful for her help, I supposed.

"You will not harm this girl any more or I will be forced to take action," I said sharply.

Her eyes rolled, "Oh my darling guard of the Abyss, this only means I need to get rid of her permanently. Now that I know she has stolen your heart like a little whore."

"Akjan," I ordered calmly, "Take Ms. Rines back to her home."

"Sure, sure," she grunted, "But you owe me."

My head jerked, nodding. I expected nothing less from her. Perhaps I'd give her a raise for her loyalty. Hm, maybe a human reward would not cut it this time. I supposed I would get her a small animal companion.

A canine perhaps?

"And there she goes," Myserien pouted. She moved towards me, wrapping her arms around my neck, "You could offer yourself in her place. Then I would be more than happy to leave that little mortal alone. What do you say Enirr, will you finally stop sleeping alone and share your bed with me?"

Share my bed with her? I did not know Myserien had become homeless. However, I supposed Myserien could sleep on the couch in the lobby if she vowed not to kill Salem anymore. It was becoming rather taxing on Salem's soul.

I tilted my head, removing her arms from me, "My bed already has another in it."

"What?" she gasped, shocked, "You have given your innocence to that mortal? Are you insane?"

I paused, realizing what she truly meant.

When we fell, we had lost our title as holy vessels however each one of the fallen were punished a certain way. However, when we lost such title, we gained the ability to be among mortals with no price. Such as, having intercourse with mortals.

This was why Myserien chose to follow our fall.

T'was also why she had been banished with the offense of lust.

"Enough!" I roared feeling flustered, "Leave me alone woman. Go back to your mortal playthings. I do not and will not ever wish to have your touch stain me."

Anger radiating off her and for a moment the glory sticking to her skin faltered. In that moment her true body was seen. The body that had been punished by the Almighty. Burned by Seraphim and shot by Erelim. A body covered in melted flesh and poking bones. Then it was gone, as she straightened her back.

"Careful Myserien," I mused taking pleasure at her lack of control, "Or you'll be rejected by even your mortals."

"I would keep a close eye on your little pet," she spat with a grin, "Because the moment you look away, I will shatter her soul. Or rather what little is clinging to that pathetic body of hers."

And with that, the fallen angel turned on her heels and left. Pushing those fake locks over her shoulder as she did, enticing a group of mortal men to follow after her heels. With a sigh of relief, I realized Salem would need a dog.

Yes, I think I would get Akjan a car and Salem a dog.

With a snap of my fingers, reality melted away and I found myself phasing into the Abyss. Walking through the darkness I made my way towards my castle. Humming an old tune I entered the castle made of black marble. The castle mocked the castle I once lived in and once brought me comfort. Now, it was merely a home for those stuck here.

"Azul," I called, my voice echoing through the dark halls.

A moment passed, then she appeared. Her grey eyes watching me, "You have never called for me in all our years of existence. What do you wish for me to do?"

I tilted my head slightly, "How would you like to be reborn? I am in need of a guard."

She smiled ever so slightly, "If I am allowed, I will refuse. I had died not once but twice. I have seen my child grow into a fine young woman, then die a hero. I am at peace."

My lips curled downwards into a frown, "I see."

"But," she hummed, her eyes shinning through the darkness, "I know of a fine soul that deserves a second chance. He is a fighter and biologically made to be not only angel but demon as well. Allow him to serve you, allow him a second chance to breathe once more."

"And what is this vessel's name?"

She smiled then, a rare smile I had only seen her give her child, "His name is Daniel."
