The next couple of days were strange... Julian and Christian actually started talking to me.
The following Friday came and it was game day.
"Are you coming to cheer us on at the game?" Christian asked me before school
"Yeah bro, I'll be there!" I replied "I always come to the school's football games man"
"Awesome, but this time you're cheering on your new stepbrothers" he smiled at me and playfully hit me in my arm
I smiled back "yeah, I guess so, but no one else knows that do they..."
He looked away from me, thinking and then spoke "yeah, see you at the game" and then he was off and out of the door to school and I followed suit, waiting until he got down the street and headed off.
I arrived at school and everyone was staring at me and some would whisper to their friends and then look at me. I was used to people talking about me cause I'm the freak geek girl but today seemed different
"Hey girl" Kayla said as she met me at my locker... Alex wasn't with her
"Hey, where's Alex?" I asked and she looked away from me
"Not here yet"
"That's not like him"
"Yeah... Everyone is talking about you" she said, changing the subject and looked at me
"What are they saying now?"
"About you being the Logan twin's stepsister..."
I furrowed my eyebrows "how do they know?"
"Seems like Christian and Julian are talking about it finally"
I looked at her, my mouth in an 'o' shape "okay"
"They're going around telling everyone"
Just as she said this, Julian and Christian came into view, but they were with Randy.
They were play-fighting while walking as they usually did. Randy stopped at his locker a few down from mine which made them stop too.
When they saw me, both of them smile, but Randy tried not to look at me.
"Hey sis" both Christian and Julian said at the same time and then looked at each other and laughed and then both said "jinx" and laughed at that too and then both said "awww man!" And laughed again. It was a bit like what happened on 22 Jump street with the twins (if you saw the movie you will know)
"Uh... Hey guys" I said "you guys seem to be in a good mood"
"Yeah man, we gotta be pumped for the game tonight" Christian said
They were being so casual with me, it was so strange... They've never been this casual with me, ever
"You seem more than pumped... Whatever you're on, can I have some?"
Julian chuckled "you wouldn't be able to handle the stuff" and winked at me
I looked at Kayla and she looked at me in surprise and I just shrugged at her
"Do you two have some girl mind bond or something?" Christian asked
"What? We are best friends... We can communicate by just looking at each other" I said "isn't that right Kay?"
"Uh... Yeah I guess" she replied and looked down, embarrassed.
Just then I felt a pair of arms snake around my waist and Christian and Julian dropped their smiles "hey there beautiful" came Alex's voice behind me
"Hey Al" I said and pulled myself from his grip on me and turned around to face him.
He looked up at Julian and Christian and back at me
"So, what's new?" He asked me
"Not much since yesterday" I laughed "how come you're here late?"
"I had to drop my little sister off at school first" he said "mom's at work early and dad's away on business. I gotta go pick her up at 4 after school too"
"Aww, I've not seen your little sister in ages... How is she?"
I heard footsteps behind me which meant that Julian and Christian had left us to chat
"She's good, she's been asking about you for ages wanting to know when you're coming to see her, she misses her Tori"
"Oh, I'll see her soon I guess... Bring her to the game tonight, she'll love it"
Everyone was talking about the game and about me being the Logan twins' stepsister also.
Lunch was manic, as so many people talked to me and asked me about the boys and how I got them to actually talk to me... Cause they hardly talk to anyone and I'm one of the people who they talk to now.
Charlotte Hanson came over to me and said hi to me as I sat with Alex and Kayla at our lunch table.
"So it's true huh?" She asked me and looked around at the rest of her cheerleading squad "the freak is Julian and Christian's stepsister" and then she laughed
"I guess" I said
As if on cue, Julian and Christian walked over to me as they heard what Charlotte said
She seemed to melt as they came over and spoke
"Hey! So what if she is" Julian said... Protective much? But why?
"Uh... But she... You guys... You hate her right?"
"Not hate... But she's alright I guess" Christian said
"But she's a freak"
Julian laughed and Christian joined him "we know that..." Thanks Julian... Thanks "... But she's not half bad when you get to know her" he smiled at me
The rest of the day went quickly and Charlotte started being nice to me after Julian and Christian had a go at her. Randy didn't even say a word to me... Until I was at my car in the parking lot after school.
He walked over to me "hey Vicky" he said with a smirk
"Shut up! Stop calling me that, Randall" I narrowed my eyes at him
"Don't you ever call me that again! No one has called me that since sixth grade" he glared at me
"Then don't call me Vicky!"
He put his hands up in mock surrender "okay okay, chill out."
"So what do you want? Are you just being nice to me because I'm Julian and Christian's stepsister?"
"No, no. I'm doing really shitty in geometry and I need a least a B in all of my classes in order to continue with football. I was wondering-"
"If I would help you?" I asked interrupting him and laughed
He looked at me hopefully
I stopped laughing as I realised he was serious "you're actually serious?"
"Yeah"
"So you've been making my life hell since middle school and now that I'm the stepsister of the Logan twins, you need my help with geometry?" I laughed again "you're funny to think I would actually help you" with that, I got in my car and drove home, leaving him stood there, looking after me, shock plastered on his face and I laughed while I drove away... I couldn't believe he would ask me that, after all he's put me through.
Once home, I changed, had some food and then went to the football game.
Before I could leave, my phone rang and it was Alex
"Hey, do you want me to pick you up for the game?"
"Okay bro, yeah sure"
"Alright, cause I'll be outside your house in like... Now"
I looked out the window to the front room and there was his car
"I was driving past and I saw your car so I thought you'd want a ride in"
"And you can see me" came through the phone. It was his sister
"Hey Tris" her name was Beatrice like from Divergent and I called her Tris for a while now since I read the books and watched the movie, she reminded me of the girl in the book "I'm coming out now"
I hung up the phone and made my way to Alex's car.
Tris was sat in the back so I slid into the front passenger seat.
"Hey Tori" she said, she started calling me Tori since she started watching Victorious. It's kinda catchy. No one else has called me that before so it was new to me
"How's it going? I haven't seen you in so long"
"It's good..." She then went on about some things that had been happening at school and I listened all the way to my school
"That's so cool" I said as we pulled up in the parking lot to the football field. Yeah, our school had a separate parking lot for our football field as our normal parking lot was always full within twenty minutes
We found a spot and hopped out. There were guys around with shirts on for our team and the opposing side.
There were loud cheers as the school sign was held up on a big banner and the football team stormed through it, Julian and Christian were the first ones through it and their mascot was the last. As they ran through the crowd, they high fived people on the edges of the crowd that had split in half.
When they saw me, they smiled and I gave them a thumbs up and mouthed a 'good luck' to them as they ran toward the field.
The whole cheerleading squad was on the football field when we sat in the bleachers with loads of people from our school, they were doing some routines they'd been working on and then the other team came onto the field, our side boo'd and hissed.
The game started and I hadn't realised how good Julian and Christian were. They moved through the field like lightning and scored loads of touchdowns as they passed the ball to and from each other. The other team hardly got a lick in.
There were five minutes remaining and our scores were nearly tied. The other team scored two touchdowns, putting us behind. The last minute was timed out while they rested and Julian searched the crowd. When his eyes landed on me, he smirked at me and I smiled and have him a thumbs up and he went back to sorting out the next play.
During the whole game, I was intrigued by the plays that they used and it made me think that they could have made it better by using some simple maths... Here comes my geek side again...
They scored the winning touchdown and our school cheered. Julian and Christian were put on people's shoulders and carried off.
Before I left, Christian shouted over to me and ran to me
"Hey squirt" he said and ruffled my hair with his hands "so, what did you think? Good huh?"
"Could have done better I guess" I joked
He pouted "but we did good"
He looked over at Tris and smiled "who's this?" He asked
"My little sister why?" Alex said, being protective.
"Just wondering" he turned to her "what did you think?"
"It was so amazing... You know, when I get to high school, I wanna be a cheerleader" she smiled at him "and my name's Tris"
"Hey Tris... I'm Chris"
"Hehe, That rhymes"
Wow! I'd never seen him around kids before...
He looked back at me and smiled "so, are you coming to the party tonight?"
"What party?" I asked
"Uh... The one where you actually have fun and drink" Alex joked "it's the only type of party there is in high school"
"Sure, I guess. Are you coming Alex?"
"Yeah, I'll drop Tris off and I'll swing by after picking up Kay... She said she couldn't make it to the game but wants to come to the party"
"So you were gonna go without me?"
"Ooh, Alex is in trouble" Tris said
"Didn't think you'd wanna come... You're always turning me down when I invite you" Alex said, his hands up in surrender
"Alright, I'll leave you guys to it" Christian said and went to get changed
Alex dropped me at home and the guys arrived back shortly after me.
"So, Randy told us what you guys talked about earlier
"What? You trying to persuade me to help him?"
"Nah, he's a dick to you... But he has a thing for you" Christian said
"Ha! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day besides Randy asking me for help" I replied
"It is true... He doesn't really need help, he just wanted to spend some time with you... Alone" Christian said and laughed
I laughed too "stop! You're cracking me up!" I said while laughing "like I would wanna spend time with him"
"You know, he isn't as bad as you might think..."
"Stop making me laugh now guys... I've known him since second grade, I should know what he's like"
"Well, we've known him longer" Christian said
I laughed "wow! Like two years makes a difference" there was sarcasm in my tone
"It does" Julian said
"So then I've known you since then too"
"Yeah man, I guess so" Christian said "but we've never really gotten to know you properly"
"I know... Until now that is"
"Yeah" they both smiled at me and we headed off to the party
