klaus was acting stranger than usual, wherever she'd go he'd follow her as if she was his lifeline, and he was strangely wandering around the academy as if he hadn't been in the academy for a while
"wow...what happened here?" klaus asks, pointing at the mess made the night before, like the broken chandelier on the ground
lilith scowls at the scene, recalling last night's event, it left an extremely bitter taste in her mouth and she'd love nothing more than to sink her teeth into those assholes
literally and figuratively
"the assholes who took you did, and they did more than that too" she says, glancing up at where pogo was fixing mom
"well you look shit today klaus and lilith... charming as always" diego says passing by the two nonchalantly
lilith understands diego's sour mood today, but that doesn't exactly give him the right to talk to klaus like that especially when he looks like he's gone to hell and back
"is that really what you're gonna say to your brother after he's gone missing for a whole day?" lilith asks, not liking the way diego was treating klaus at the moment
she sees klaus stiffen as she mentions "a whole day" she might have to ask him about that soon
diego scoffs, he looked like he was about retort but decided against it, going off quietly
"well thank you for that diego i needed that, anyways where are you going?" klaus asks with a little glimmer in his eyes that lilith recognized, it brings a little smile to her face
but not diego's "nope"
"what?" klaus and lilith both ask simultaneously
"i'm not giving you two a ride." diego says seriously, trying to intimidate them with his "grown up voice"
"come on...we all need to loosen up, and i recommend that you come with us" lilith pleads, pouting at diego hoping that her puppy eyes may work on him
diego sees this and glares at her "did you actually think the puppy eyes would work? we aren't kids anymore lilith"
lilith gasps dramatically and puts on a fake hurt expression "well fine do what you want goodwill batman"
"oh, come on, man. you know we both can't drive" klaus says
lilith smacks his shoulder playfully "umm excuse me? so did jesus take the wheel when you were drunk and needed a ride home?"
klaus sticks his tongue out at her and she mirrors him, as she used to when they were younger
"i don't c—" diego was about to refuse once more but was cut off with klaus dragging lilith back to his room "okay, great. we'll just get our things. two minutes." klaus says,

"you okay?" diego asks klaus who was in his third a bottle of vodka. lilith grabs the bottle from him and closes its lid "jesus klaus, pace yourself" she whispers
"wow, this is a first. my brother klaus is silent. last time you were this quiet, we were twelve. ran down the stairs wearing mom's heels, tripped over, and broke your jaw." diego says
"ah! that's right...i was the one who told him to do it" lilith whispers the last part to herself, snickering as she remembers his naivety
"how long was it wired shut again?" diego asks "eight weeks." klaus slowly replies
"eight glorious weeks of bliss." diego says slowly, reminiscing their childhood in what diego may think is his best memory
lilith rolls her eyes at diego "hey, just drop me off here." klaus says pointing at a veteran's bar
lilith's eyes narrowed at the odd situation, a quiet klaus going to a veteran's bar...i mean what could possibly go wrong right?
lilith can think of a few not so great scenarios
diego for once stops klaus as he immediately got out of the car. "you sure, you're okay, man?" diego asks, lilith sighs and gets out of the car to join klaus
"i'm going with him" she states blankly to diego before turning to klaus
"he's not wrong, crazy...are you alright?"
the level of trust between klaus and lilith is strong, so strong in fact that they would dare to think about keeping secrets from one another
but lately that bond's gotten weaker, but lilith refuses to let him go, not now not ever
she didn't want to lose him too
"come with me." klaus says, and as they both enter the bar they immediately get stares, lilith understood why though
non veterans were in a veteran bar, it's disrespectful as it is, but what really scared lilith were the stares each of the men were giving her as she and klaus made their way to the paintings on the wall
she hears whistles directed at her and stares piercing through her, it was like when she first met trevor, he saw her as an object he could fuck with
both literally and figuratively
she wanted to call out to klaus but he seemed so entranced with a certain painting, and besides she knew that klaus needed her so she'd hate to think about herself when klaus needs her at the moment
"oh...hey dave..." klaus whispers sadly as he traces the face of an honestly good looking guy who lilith knew as "dave"
"look lily bear, this is dave..." he does not look at her as he says this, but lilith knew he was just relieved to find a picture of him. she smiles gently and takes a closer look, sure enough there was dave...
and...klaus?
wait...what the fuck
"klaus... is tha-"
"hey" diego cuts of lilith before she could ask him the question
klaus groans "just leave us please"
"not until you talk to me." diego says "is that a threat? you threatening me?" klaus asks
lilith's first basic instinct was to get in between the both of them, placing a hand on klaus' chest to calm him "woah woah woah, not now, not here, okay?" lilith pleads with klaus, which was enough for him to back off
"hey, guys. thi bar? it's for vets only" a man in said from behind the trio
"i'm a vet." klaus says confidently, lilith shakes her head at klaus but it goes unseen by him
"really?" the veteran asked. "where'd you serve?"
"none of your business." klaus replies "klaus!" lilith scolds him, but once again she is ignored
"you got balls coming in here, pretending you're one of us." the man says
lilith had her fair share of headaches but this one was not something she wanted to deal with. she goes in between the man and klaus, trying to calm the two down "ok let's just all calm down-"
"oh, I have every right to be here, just like you. asshole." klaus says earning a scowl from lilith. the veteran got angry and started to walk towards klaus, but with lilith in between he couldn't go that far
"sir, sir please...we are very sorry, my brother's just had a few too many drinks alright? now can we all be adults and move pass this?" lilith asks, desperate for a conclusion
"sure thing." the vet says, diego and lilith both sigh in relief. "thank you..."
"as long as you apologize." the man says, causing klaus to laugh a little bit too loud for his liking
lilith clears her throat, but diego beats her to it "fine. I'm sorry. he's sorry. she's sorry. we're all sorry. so, are we good?" diego apologizes, and for a hot minute lilith thought it was over
"i wanna hear him say it"
definitely not over
"hey, man, i'm just trying to—""no, no . he's right, diego." klaus says, and by his tone of voice, lilith didn't like where it was going
"he's right. he's right. i'd like to apologize, that you are depriving some village of their idiot!"
lilith curses under her breath, but regardless she pushes klaus back as best as she could
one man walks over to lilith, looking her up and down, and by the look on his face she knew this wasn't going to go well
"hey... you sure are one pretty little thing." the man mutters with a lustful and malicious smile
she gulps, it wasn't like her to feel weak against men, she works in business. there is always that one guy who thinks she's nothing more than a walking sex toy
but the way he spoke to her and the way he touched her hit a little too close to home
he grabs her waist but she pushes him off "no!" she yells out, but the man apparently didn't take it for an answer as he grabs her chin, she struggles against his strong grip
"hey! get off my sister!" klaus yells, delivering an effective punch to his face, diego takes a frightened lilith into his arms and attempts to soothe and comfort her

"you got a big mouth, you know that?" diego scolds klaus who looks disinterested in the conversation
"oh, wow. what a truly shocking revelation, diego." klaus says sarcastically "everything's a big joke to you, right? would you stop it?" diego grabs the drugs from klaus' hands "why are you putting this shit in your body? check this out, my body is a temple. all that shit you do, it's just weakness
"oh, wow, beautiful." klaus says
klaus takes out another pill to take, "well, weakness feels so good"
it wasn't long before diego slaps klaus' neck making him drop the pill
"what's going on with you? huh?" diego asks, frustrated with him
"don't hit me, asshole!" klaus yells at diego
at this point lilith realize she may not have a quiet moment to think, but she can sure as hell make one
"kids, just because i'm not oart of the conversation doesn't mean i'm not here with you guys!" she yells, and for once it seemed as if the guys realized she was there and had remembered what happened at the bar
it wasn't like lilith to freeze like that, but she did anyway. something told diego and klaus she didn't want to think about it, let alone talk about it, so they let her be
but after a few seconds of blissful silence, diego had something else to say "don't tell me everything is all right, because I saw you in there! you were crying like a baby!"
"because I lost someone!" klaus finally spits out and this is what makes lilith turn her head to look at him from the passenger's seat
"i lost someone, the only person, the only person i've ever truly loved more than myself. cheers!" klaus says before finally taking the drug
"well, you're luckier than most. when, you loose someone at least you can see them whenever you want" diego says
"some people are lucky and some people aren't...i can say i'm lucky cause i lost the love of my life when i was like really young...which makes room for healing as the years go by" lilith's voice cracks a little as she explains her view on loss, her brothers stare at her worriedly but she brushes them off
they sit in silence once more until out of the blue lilith breaks the silence "is it a little insensitive to call ourselves the broken souls club?" she asks, a smile on her face
slowly but surely she hears her brothers chuckle which soon turn into laughs
then, diego notices something in the rear view mirror of the car
it was one of the assassins, that attacked the academy, tortured klaus and killed his girlfriend
"that's our man." diego says
lilith licks her lips as an all familiar feeling inside of her erupts, she licks her fangs as she smiles
"good... cause i'm not planning on holding back this time around"
SO IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT PEOPLE HAVE NOTICED A VERY TINY DETAIL IN ONE OF MY PREVIOUS CHAPTERS

LILITH HAS BEEN ENGAGED BEFORE, HOWEVER THEY QUICKLY FELL APART BECAUSE OF LILITH BEING TOO BUSY, ALCOHOLIC AND HER INABILITY TO GET OVER BEN
