chapter 3
"O-okay" she stutters as I open the door and let her in
I make my way to my small bedroom max following close behind. Once we make it to my room I go over to my radio and put a mixtape I made a few days ago inside. Max dances around my room while I watch and grin.
"What song is this?" She asks curiously
I giggle at how cute she is "it's Run to you by Bryan Adams"
"I like it"
"I can make you a mixtape if you like. Actually we can make one right now together" I say looking at her
She smiles widely and giggles "I would love that" she says walking over to me.
"Okay so you're gonna put this" I say holding up a blank cassette tape and passing it to her "in here" I say pointing to one of the two cassette holders in my stereo. She looks at me worried making me smile slightly. "Here" I say pulling her closer to me and putting my hands on top of hers and lead them to the cassette hole in the radio. "Now,you-" Max looks worried once more. Probably scared she's gonna do something wrong "we're gonna push this to whined it back to the song" I lead her hand to a button and she pushes to down. I smile while looking at her smiling "you're am-" I cut myself off "I mean you're doing amazing Max" i Stare into her gorgeous blue eyes seeing what seems like stars in them I feel myself leaning forward ever so slightly. I shake my head and I look away back to the radio
"O-okay now you're-"
"We're" max corrects grabbing my hand and putting it on top of hers
"We're gonna push the play and record button alright?"
"Yeah" she says as I lead her hand up to the buttons
"Done" I exclaim looking over at the red head looking into her eyes smiling bright. She's so beautiful "y-you are really beautiful Max..." I had quietly
She stays quiet shit I scared her
"I-im sorry. I didn't-"
"Y/n it's okay. Thanks. I'm just not used to people calling me beautiful"
"Well you better get used to it"
"Why. Cause people are gonna tell you you're beautiful"
"Why would they do that" she asks truly confused
"Cause their gonna tell you the truth" I say getting up and grabbing a few of my other mixtapes "tell me if you like any of these songs. I can't give you one song on a mixtape"
After putting a few more songs on Max's mixtape I grab out my Black marker and write 'Max's mixtape' on the front adding a few small hearts after her name. I smile and hand it to her "all done"
"Thanks y/n. You're awesome"
"And you're totally tubular Red"
"No one says that stalker!" She hits my arm playfully
"I dooo" I whine back
"Is this you're sister?" Max's asks picking up a photo frame of my dad, my sister and I
"Yeah she's my twin"
"You guys don't look alike at all"
"We're faturnal twins but it's easier to just say twin ya know?" Max nods
crawling into my bed u speak "come on red. Dusty's gonna make us trick or treat tomorrow"
"Hmm okay" she says crawling under the covers next to me.
*small time skip*
I wake up with arms wrapped around my waist and legs entangled in my own. I frown my brows and open my eyes. Carefully turning over to I can see the girls face.Max. Just the thought of her brings sheer joy to me. I smile as I study her face in the dim light spilling for behind the bathroom door.
Her pink rose petal lips are slightly agape as she breaths a steady pace, her freckles dance across her face, her red hair falls across her face and the pillow she lays on. I bring my hand up slowly cautions not to wake the sleeping beauty and bring my hands through her flames of hair gently feeling the soft strands glide through my fingers with ease. Once I'm finished brushing the hair out of my face I whisper two words "so perfect"
"Got yourself another girl I see y/n" I turn my head to the side slightly see my sister standing in my doorway
"We're just friends"
"Than why you making love eyes at her aye?"
"Were just friends" I repeat more harshly
"Girlfriends more like it. Even tho...girls. Can't. Date" she pauses between her words
"Get out Kate" I say trying not to wake up
Max
"Nah I think I'll just watch this for a while"
"Get out Kate" I say loudly going to get up but I feel arms snake around my waist. I freeze and turn around to see a now awake max staring up at me
"She's not worth it y/n" she whispers
"But she does. She's a son of a bit-" Kate cuts me off walking up to me and slapping me clean across the face. My Hand shoots up to where she slapped
"Get out" max says angrily "I said get out!" She yells and pushes my sister out the door slamming it in her face.
"Are you okay y/n, are you hurt?"
"I'm okay max really. It's not the first time"
"I'm so sorry y/n" max looks at me with sadness filling her eyes
"Don't be Max it's okay"
"Let's go get some breakfast yeah?"
She nods
*time skip to that night (trick or treating)*
Max and I hide behind a bush and wait for the group of boys consisting of Dustin,lucas, mike and will to walk past. Once they are about to walk past max jumps out at them with her Micheal Myers costume yelling at the four boys in front of her making them all jump and Lucas scream like a girl. I laugh and walk over and stand next to her "Holy shit you should have seen the look on your faces!" I look at mike who roles his eyes and shakes his head looking away from the redhead "and you who screams like that! You sound like a little girl" I laugh at her statement watching her start to walk off "Hey you guys coming or not. Oh I heard we should hit up Lock Nora, that's where the rich people live right?" I laugh and walk up to Dustin "hey Dusty, Lucas,Will and Mike. How are you boys?" I say smiling at each of them
"We're good" Dustin says following close behind max along with Lucas. I take the time that I'm away from them to walk up to mike and will, not introducing myself beforehand
"Hey Mike and Will. It's nice to officially meet you guys. I'm y/n" I say holding out a hand. They both take it and shake my hand
"Nice camera Will" I point to the camera he was holding. This earns a mumbled thanks from the boy with the bowl cut and a small smile from the curly haired boy next to him.
I start to talk to them about random things until we catch up to the others.
"Y/n have some of this. It's really good" max says holdings half eaten chocolate bar in front of my mouth. I take a bite and lick the leftover chocolate off my lips "yum" I say smiling at the girl next to me. I turn back to look at where mike and will should be but it's only mike
"Mike!" He looks over at me "where's will?" I say looking around
"Oh shit. Will!" He looks frantically around for his best friend "will!" He yells louder
"Y/n, Dustin,lucas help me find him!" I grab Max's hand and run in a random direction hoping to find will. After about five minutes I find him with his back against a wall tears in his eyes as well as terror. "Will!" I kneel down next to him and pull him off the wall bringing him close to my face I look around for mike not being able to see him I turn back to Will "you okay bud-" I look at him again just to get a short flash of some spider looking thing in a sky of lightning and red "what the hell" I say holding my head with one hand it happens again I put my back against the wall as well and put my head in both my hands "ahh" I say In pain "Jesus" I say again trying to get up. Max runs up to me and will with the rest of the boys as I collapse on the floor. Head still in my hands. Mike snaps Will out of this trance while max try's to deal with me. All of a sudden I feel like Im okay. A slight headache but I feel okay. I stand and max puts an arm around me. "Y/n. Y/n what's happening"
"I feel really tired Max" I say holding my head with one hand
"Let's take her to my house. To the basement. It's safer"
"Okay"
"Y/n your nose"
"Wha-"
"It's bleeding"
*time skip*
I wake up in an unfamiliar environment I look to my left and see the boys playing a game...WAIT IS THAT D n' D?! I sit up slightly before arms wrap around me. Max is asleep next to me again. I smile and slowly get out of her eyes walking over to the boys slowly
"Can I play?" I say walking over to the three boys. Will must have gone home
"Yeah sure y/n" Mike says
I take a seat and pull out my D n' D character I always have on me.
"Woah you'r-" Dustin starts to yell
"No time for introductions. You are standing outside two doors" Mike begins but I'm to busy watching max who's getting up slowly. I smile as she comes and stands next to my chair. I move over slightly as she can sit down.
I look around at the party when it starts to happen again. I look at Dustin to hear his voice say 'please don't be the demogorgon'
I look over at Lucas whos next to him to hear him say 'Max is really pretty'
I look over a mike to hear him say 'Max is so annoying. She wants to be in the group but she can't be"
But the thing is. Their not saying it out loud. I look at max and hear her say 'maybe I should ask them out' my heart drops and my head starts to hurt again. I pinch the space between my eyes and stand up
"G-guys i-im So s-sorry but I think I-I'm g-gonna go h-home. T-thanks f-f-for today" I say grabs my mask and my other things before heading up the stairs Max follows.
"Y/n your nose is bleeding again" she grabs the sleeve of her costume and wipes my nose gently making sure to get all the blood once we step outside. I smile and thank her quietly as we just stand there and study each other's faces. I cough before sitting on my bike "get on. I'll take you home. I'd be to worried if I left you here to walk home by yourself" she nods and climbs onto the back of my bike, wrapping her arms around my gently and resting her head in my back
"Y/n?"
"Hmm?" I response
"Where's your mum?"
"Umm s-she passed away when I was nine"
"Oh Im so sorry y/n I didn't-"
"I know y/n it's okay.
"What do you remember about her?" She asks
"Nothing actually. I only remember being told she passed by my dad. I actually don't remember anything before the age of nine. It's weird"
"Yeah that is pretty weird" she agrees.
I bike into Max's street after a bit of guidance
"It's that house" max points reaching over my shoulder
"Cool" I say pulling up outside
"Thanks y/n. For tonight. I had a lot of fun" "I did too Red"
"See you around stalker" she says leaning in a kissing my cheek. I smile and look at the red head walking away.
I like my best friend. No I love my best friend.
I'm screwed.
I bike back home past a house that looks like it's having a killer party. I slow down to see a boy with longish brown hair outside with tears in his eyes. He looks nice. I stop and put my bike down going over to the boy "hey you okay?" I ask making him look up at me from the step he's sitting on.
"Yeah. Just girl trouble"
"Same dude" I sit down next to him
"You need advice kid?"
"You have any. You know about girls?"
"I have plenty. You just gotta act like you don't care alright kid?"
"Like I don't care?"
"Yeah. Like you're just cool and chill" he smiles while pulling his jacket up his shoulders more
"Like I'm chill" I whisper
"You're not I'm love with this girl are you?"
"N-no, were just strangers"
"I'm steve. Steve Harrington" he smiles again
"Y/n. Y/n y/l/n"
"You new around here?" He says standing and walking towards my bike
"Yeah" I agree following him.
"I'll walk you home kid, it's late" he says walking next to me as I push my bike.
I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while loves. I've been busy with exams and assignments 🙄. I'll be posting more I promise. I hope y'all enjoy this chapter. It's not proof read or anything so it may suck a bit but I'm to tired.
