"so...you have a girlfriend ey?" lilith asks as she and diego walk side by side on the way to the motel that diego's girlfriend has instructed them to do
from the corner of her eye, she could see diego slightly tense up at her question "s-she... she isn't my girlfriend" diego whispers under his breath, but enough for lilith to hear
lilith takes out a cigarette and lighter from her coat "whatever you say bro" she lights up her cigarette and takes a puff
"so how exactly did you meet this..." lilith trails off, waiting for diego to finish for her and sure enough he does
"eudora? we met when i was still in some police academy back then" diego answers vaguely, but by the tone of his voice he didn't really need lilith pressing him for more answers
lilith puffs out a smoke ring, a trick she had learned when she was seventeen "well, it sounds like you really cared for dora"
"eudora" diego corrected
lilith lets out a hearty laugh "what a coincidence! diego and dora dating, that's weird"
diego chuckles at her sudden realization "i'll say, aren't they related?" he and lilith look at each other at the same time
lilith smirks "so are allison and luther, but hey that's not stopping him is it?" she asks, smiling cheekily
"so were you and ben"
lilith's heart stopped for a few seconds, but with one deep breath, the dark moment passed her by easily as wind
diego soon realizes his error and quickly apologizes "shit...i'm sorry lil i really am-"
lilith hushes him, she smiles gently at him and shakes her head "it's fine, no really it is you little momma's boy" she playfully punches his shoulder
diego chuckles and ruffles her hair. lilith squeals and pushes him off, trying to pat down the mess he made

"i thought she said she'd wait...?" lilith asks unsure of the current situation
as they arrived in the cheap rundown motel, she wasn't there like she had said
"you don't think i'm just as confused?" he retorts as they walk through the rooms of the motel
"jeez it was fucking question diego, i wasn't asking you to break down the plot of riverdale, it was a fucking-" she cuts herself off, hearing a creak of a door a few feet away from them
"what's up?" diego asks from behind her, lilith hushes him, slowly creeping over to the sound of the door
"i heard a door creak open"
"well not shit sherlock, it's a motel!" lilith rolls her eyes and turns around
"diego, can you just trust me right now? i think i got this!" she then returns to her search but diego's quick to get in her nerves again
"think? you think you got this? well just great-"
but before he could finish, lilith stops him and points at an open motel door
she shoots him a smug smile but he doesn't even make eye contact with her
"kaus?" lilith and diego call out but there was no reply, "i'll go in first, stay here" she states but diego was having none of it
"what?! but-"
"hush, you literally forgot klaus was your brother, i'm going in first and that's final. stay. here" her voice was serious which by now, diego knew better than to against that kind of tone, he gingerly nods his head as lilith enters the room
she had so much shit to tell klaus, she wanted to hold him and for him to braid her new hair and tell each other things like they used to, she didn't know why, but she just wanted klaus now, more than ever, but her thoughts were cut short as she smells something familiar
blood. dead body. fresh
lilith suddenly felt hungry, this had never happened before. but she knew this was not the time to focus on herself, she needed to find klaus
she looks down and there laid a body of a woman, her blood smelled fresh, which meant it happened not too long ago
she kneels before her and brushes off a few strands of hair, revealing a beautiful face framed by her fringe
"such a shame, you were beautiful" lilith whispers, she looks down to observe her attire, casual but it called for authority which told lilith that she was a career woman
lilith attempts to further identify the victim until her hand lands on something in her jacket, lilith pulls the mysterious object out and it was her badge. the woman was a police officer
lilith feared the worse, it couldn't be...right? lilith had a terrible gut feeling, everything started to make sense now
"lilith are you-" lilith's head shoots up, her eyes meet diego's devastated ones. she stands up and walks over to him "diego..." she trails off
diego stood there frozen as lilith holds attempts to embrace him, but he pushes her off roughly, running to kneel beside eudora
a muffled sob came out from his mouth."no, no, eudora, no, no!" diego cried, lilith had never seen diego so vulnerable, she wasn't sure if she was proud of seeing this side or devastated
she kneels down next to diego, who was hitting the floor, clearly frustrated and heartbroken. she hugs him tightly letting him sob into her shoulder
diego pulled away, and took eudora's face into his hands, carressing her cheek "i was on my way...why didn't you wait?"
lilith's heart broke when he uttered those words, she knew how that felt, she just handled her grieving in a different way
lilith heard the sound of police sirens and immediately knew the amount of trouble that was to ensue if the cops found them like this. she looked back a
"diego, we have to go." lilith says, placing her hand gently on diego's shoulder
as diego looks up at lilith with glassy eyes and a tear stained face, lilith felt like she finally understood his almost always melancholic attitude towards everything, he only had eudora in his life to keep him in line and to keep him happy, now he doesn't have her anymore
lilith knew that feeling, and you can be damn certain that she won't let diego spiral down like she had. she wouldn't want him to turn into her
so sad, so lonely and so goddamn insane
she'll do anything to prevent him from becoming like her
"i gotta go, okay?" diego whispers to eudora's lifeless body. "i, we can't be here when they come, okay?"
lilith patted his back gently, she stands up and gathers diego's things for him, but then she saw a receipt from 'griddy's doughnuts'
lilith's curiousity peaked a little, ultimately deciding to take it, before grabbing diego's hand and pulling him out of the room
"you alright?" lilith asks him as they both flee the scene as carefully and quickly as possible
diego is silent, which for once didn't sit well with lilith. they both make their way back to his place in silence

lilith thought she was a person who anticipated almost everything, but diego wanting to throw hands with their older thirteen year old brother wasn't a reaction she expected
"piece of shit" diego spoke angrily, as he opened the door, lilith then quickly held him back with her free arm, stopping him from going off fully
"do you have any idea what you just did?" lilith was strong but she still needed help, so she nods for luther to help her out which he doea, which didn't sit well with diego
"nope, let me— get your ape hands off of me!" diego tried to push luther off, but his grip was too strong, added with lilith's own strength
"i can do this as long as it takes you to calm down. lilith, you alright?" luther asks, she nods her head quickly
"uh yeah, yeah i am" lilith answers quietly. after a few more seconds of struggle, diego finally calms down."now, wanna tell us what you're talking about?" luther asks
"our brother's been pretty busy since he got back. he was in the middle of that shootout at griddy's, and then at gimble brothers, after the guys in masks attacked the academy, looking for him." his emphasis on the word brother did not go unnoticed by liltih as diego points at five angrily
"none of which is any of your concern." five said
"none of our concern? they invaded the academy, putting all our lives in danger and killing our mother, this isn't just of our utmost concern, this is a fucking war and i'd rather die than lose it"
the boys stay silent at lilith's bold statement, causing her to sigh and continue on for them
"besides, they just killed diego's girlfriend"
"she's not my-" diego starts but lilith raises her hand to stop which immediately worked
"who are they, five?" luther asks
"they work for my former employer. a woman called the handler... she sent them, to stop me. then, as soon as diego's girlfriend got in their way, well, fair game" five explains, it was a little sadistic, even for lilith's tast
"now, they're my fair game." diego says, causing lilith to shake her head, she was about to reply but diego continued regardless "and i'm gonna see to it they pay"
"that would be a mistake, diego. they've killed people far more dangerous than you"
"yeah, we will see about that." diego says, as he walks out of the room
lilith was about to stop him from leaving when luther grabbed her arm, she brushes his touch off, more concerned for diego and what this will all mean to him in the future
lilith curses under her breath, worried that diego might do something stupid, but deep inside she knew that he needed to sort some things alone
"leave him, he needs to be alone" luther reassures her, it didn't lift lilith's mood but then again it didn't deteriorate either

lilith didn't know she was tired until she stepped inside the academy, this hell hole was never something she considered as home, but she had one of the best memories here and she wasn't going to lose that
as she makes her way to the her room to maybe change and take a nap afterwards, she passes klaus' room and hears someone rummaging through some shit
if it had been one of the intruders from the other night, she was about to have a little talk with them
lilith slowly transitions to her devil form, she could feel fangs forming in her teeth as she peers into the room
however, she immediately stops the transition as she sees that there was no intruder but the person she had been needing the entire day
"oh my god...klaus?" she whispers in relief
klaus swiftly turns around in shock, he's tense which concerned lilith, but he quickly softened as he realizes who was in front of him
"oh my god...lily bear?" he whispers quietly, almost as if he hadn't seen her in years
he clumsily tackles her in a hug, but she manages to stay standing as klaus clings onto her like a koala bear. she hugs him back, clearly just as relieved to see him as he is to her
they pull away and then lilith begins to notice some differences about him, a change in clothing in a more colorful aspect and he was wearing dog tags
she was about to question him until he beat her to it "what's up with the new hair?"
"what's up with the change in fashion and the..." she trails off, her finger grazes the dog tags in his neck "the dog tags?"
she takes a closer look at it and sees someone's name which makes sense, it was a dog tag
"what does that say...? dave?" she asks but klaus quickly swats her hand away which surprises both of them
they never kept secrets from one another, so what was up? lilith had a sixth sense for klaus, she had always worried about his well being since they were kids and this time was no different
"s-sorry, bear... i didn't mean to" klaus apologizes but lilith was quick to trap him in a tight hug "i don't care alright? i just really need a hug right about now" lilith whispers, klaus hums and wraps her in a loving embrace
"so who's dave?" she ask, as they both pull away from the hug. lilith sees a flash of sadness in klaus' eye, however it was quickly replaced by an expression of happiness
"a really good friend of mine"
