Chapter 8: Mirror of Erised and Detention
[Pretend that the Mirror of Erised wasn't moved for plot's sake ]
"Harry, why are we in front of a mirror? I'm sleepy." I said.
"This is not just any mirror." He said.
"Okay. What exactly does this mirror do? Spy on someone?" I asked, stepping closer to the mirror.
He laughed. "No. It shows your deepest desires."
"Deepest desires? I guess mine's food." I said.
"Well, go on." He said.
I walked closer to the mirror. Blank.
"There is nothing, Harry." I said.
"Really?" I turned to the mirror then saw an old version of me holding a rose.
I smiled, but it slowly fade when I saw an older version of Draco Malfoy hugging me from behind.
He held my left hand then I saw an emerald ring on both of our ring finger.
My eyes widened then quickly looked at my hand.
No ring. I looked behind me.
"Y/N, saw something?" Harry asked.
"Uh- yeah! I was correct indeed. It's food." I lied.
He doesn't know that I'm engaged to Draco.
"Okay?"
"What did you saw?" I asked him.
"My parents." He said sadly. "It felt so real."
I patted his back. "You were not here before, so I took the chance to take you here."
"That's sweet." I said. "Thank you."

We knocked on Hagrid's door.
"Hagrid-"
"Oh hello! Sorry, don't mean to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today." He said then started to close the door.
"We know about the Philosopher's Stone!" We said in unison.
He opened the door. "Oh." He said then went back inside. We followed.
"We think Snape is trying to steal it. Hagrid, we know he's after the stone. We just don't know why." Harry said.
I sat beside Hermione.
"Snape is one of the teachers that are protecting the stone. He's not planning to steal it." Hagrid said.
"What?" Harry asked.
"You heard right. Come on now, I'm a bit preoccupied today." Hagrid said.
"Wait a minute, one of the teachers?"
"Of course! There are other things defending the stone, aren't there? Spells, enchantments." Hermione said.
"That's right. Waste of bloody time if you ask me. Ain't no one gonna get past Fluffy. Mm-hmm. No soul knows how, except for me and Dumbledore. I should not have told you that. I should not have told you that. I should not have told you that." He said then we heard the couldron boil.
Hagrid got the...egg? He put the egg on the table. We surrounded the table.
"Hagrid, what exactly is that?" I asked.
"That is- umm...that is... uhhh-" Hagrid
stuttered.
"I know what it is!" Ron said with wide eyes. "Hagrid, how did you get one?"
"I won it," Hagrid said. "From a stranger at the pub. She quite glad to get rid of it. Matter of fact."
Then the egg hatched. We all gasped. "Is that a dragon?" Hermione asked.
"That's not just a dragon," Ron said. "That's a Norwegian Ridgeback! My brother Charlie works at this in Romania."
"Isn't he beautiful? Oh blessing. Look! He knows his mummy! Hello, Norbert." Hagrid said.
"Norbert?" Harry asked.
"Well, he's gotta have a name." Hagrid said then continued to stroke Norbert's chin.
Just then, Norbert breathed fire.
"Who's that?" Hagrid asked, facing the window.
We all turned. "Malfoy." Harry hissed.
Oh dear.

"Pity that they let the old punishment die. God, I'll miss the screaming. You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight. He's got a little job to do inside the dark forest." Filch said.
"Good job, Draco. Because of you, we're all having detention." I said.
"Sorry about this, Hagrid. Look. God, man. You're not still on about that bloody dragon are ya?" Filch asked.
Hagrid sighed. "Norbert is gone. Dumbledore sent him off to Romania to live in a colony." He said.
"Well, that's good, isn't it? He'll be with his own kind." I said.
"Yeah, but what if he don't like Romania? What if other dragons are mean to him? He's only a baby after all." Hagrid said.
"Oh, for God's sake! Pull yourself together, man. You're going in a forest out roll."
"The forest? I thought that was a joke! We can't go in there! Students aren't allowed, and there are... werewolves." Draco said.
"Oh, there are more than werewolves in those tree, lad. You can be sure of that." Filch said.
"Nighty-night." Filch said then left.
"Right, let's go." Hagrid said then walked.
We nodded then follow. Hagrid saw a unicorn blood.
"Hagrid, what is that?" Harry asked.
"What we're here for. See that? That's unicorn's blood. I found one dead a few weeks ago. Now, this one's been hurt bad by sinners, so it's our job to go and find the poor beast. Ron, Hermione, you'll come with me." Hagrid said.
Ron let out a quiet, "okay."
"Harry, Y/N, you both will go with Malfoy." He continued.
"Okay, then I get Fang!" Draco said.
"Fine," Hagrid said. "Just so you know, he's a bloody coward."
We faced Fang.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go! Come on, Fang." I said.
"Wait 'til my father hears about this! This is servant stuff!" Draco said.
"If I didn't know better, Draco. I'd say you're scared." Harry said.
Draco scoffed. "Scared, Potter."
Then I heard something.
"Shhh! Did you hear that?" I asked them.
Harry nodded. "Scared, Y/N?" Draco asked me.
"You wish." I shot back.
"Come on, Fang." Harry called the dog.
"Scared." Draco muttered.
I held Draco's arm when I heard Fang growl.
"What is it, Fang?" I asked.
Then I saw a hooded man eating a unicorn.
Harry winced then touched his scar.
Draco screamed then ran away. "You idiot!Don't leave us here!" I yelled.
The person walked going to us. "What do we do, Harry?" I asked.
"I-I don't know." He said.
Then a centaur scared the man away.
"Harry Potter, Y/N Rosecharm, you must leave. You are known to many creatures here. The forest is not safe at this time. Especially for you two." He said.
"But what was that thing you saved us from?" Harry asked.
"A monstrous creature," the centaur replied. "It is a terrible crime to slay a unicorn. Drinking the blood of a unicorn will keep you alive even if you are an inch from death, but at a terrible price. You have slain something so pure, that, from the moment that blood touches your lips, you will have a half life. A cursed life."
"Who would choose such a life?" I asked.
"Can you think of no one?" The centaur asked me.
"Do you mean to say, that thing that killed the unicorn, that was drinking its blood, that was Voldemort?" Harry asked.
"Do you know what is hidden in the school at this very moment, Mr. Potter?" The centaur asked.
"The Philosopher's Stone." We answered.
Then I heard a bark. "Y/N!" Draco yelled.
"Hello there, Firenze. I see you've met our
young Mr. Potter and Ms. Rosecharm. You alright there, Harry? Y/N?" Hagrid asked.
We nodded.
"Harry Potter, Y/N Rosecharm, this is where I leave you. You two are safe now. Goodluck."
The centaur said then left.
