Lillian was half way up the sidewalk before she paused, rethinking this. Her stomach moved and it wasn't the baby inside her. She was a nervous wreck.

Ryan noticed she'd stopped walking because he paused a few feet away from her and turned around, looking at her confused, "What?"

She knew this day was going to come and she had to get over it. It's just his parents, she should be fine. She shook her head, "Nothing.", she said, catching up next to him and they went up the stairs.

Ryan turned to look at her and gave her a small nervous smile, "Ready for the chief of police to arrest his own son? He always said if my brothers or I got a girl pregnant before we graduate, he'll arrest us as a 'lesson'."

"He wouldn't do that...would he?" she asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked at him confused.

He shrugged, "I don't know, my two other brothers never got their girlfriends pregnant until my oldest turned twenty-one."

"I guess we'll find out." she said and he nodded.

He opened the door and she followed behind him as they went in. "Dad, I want you to meet someone." he said awkwardly and nervously as he stepped aside to show Lillian. Lillian saw him on the recliner and he looked just like an older version of Ryan with a slight bigger belly, but still pretty handsome. "This is Lillian Monroe."

She awkwardly smiled and raised her hand, "Hello, Mr. Miller."

He looked confused and got up from the chair, "Hello Lillian. Ryan, I didn't know you were dating someone new, she is pretty, but I'm surprised you didn't tell us or-".

"She's not my girlfriend." Ryan said and Lillian looked away a little as she pressed her lips together, already feeling uncomfortable.

"Oh. A partner in some class or something-"

"Also no.", he said. "Dad, I have to--where's mom? I kind of need her in here also."

"I heard my other name." his mother came out who was beautiful as ever. She looked like the housewife you would see in a magazine who was a pretty blue-eyed blonde with a great figure and was in a white sweater and black dress pants with some fancy short heels.

"Great." he said. He scratched the back of his head and cleared his throat, "Can you both sit down, please."

They looked at each other in confusion before Mr. Miller sat back down on the recliner and Mrs. Miller sat on the love seat next to him. Ryan chuckled nervously, "Dad, I know this is going to be random but have you lost weight? Mom has been complaining about all those donuts you've been eating but I can see the pounds-",

"Spit it out, Ry, don't try that bullshit with me. I know I haven't lost any damn weight." he said.

Ryan swallowed hard, "Okay. Lillian's preg-pregnant and the baby's mine." he quickly said.

His mother's hand went up to her mouth in shock and his father also did and he looked away, not happy. Lillian stuffed her hands in her hoodie pockets and looked down at her shoes. Lillian saw in the corner of her eyes Ryan was stiff and nervous waiting to hear what they had to say but moments passed and they didn't say anything.

"Dad, please say something." Ryan said.

He moved his hands and looked back at him, "What am I supposed to say? I thought you use protection, Ryan."

"I do and I did! But it broke and I know the baby's mine, I was her first." he said.

Ryan dad looked at Lillian, "Is it his?"

"Yes." Lillian said, kind of offended that he would ask her that. Lillian had never slept with anyone else; she never even had a boyfriend before. That just depressed her even more that her first wasn't even with someone she loved.

"How'd it happen?" Ryan mom asked. "I thought you're with Jeanette, Ryan."

"I am." Ryan said. "But...but I don't know if I will be after this weekend. It happened at a party and Lillian and I were really drunk and one thing leaded to another and now she's pregnant. It's not like we planned it or anything, it was a mistake."

"How far along are you?" his mom asked.

"Almost five months.." she said.

"And do your parents know?"

"Yes and they have met Ryan." she said. "They weren't happy either and Ryan's right, this shouldn't have happened."

"Wait, I remember where I heard your name from." his father said. "Jeanette talks about you. You're her best friend."

Lillian looked down in shame and nodded, "Yeah I am, but not anymore soon." she said in a sad tone. Her eyes watered up when she thought about losing her friend since she was little over a night that was a huge worst mistake. She blinked the tears away; it was not the time to be crying.

His dad sighed heavily, "Okay, okay so you're pregnant and this was an accident, right?"

"Right." both Lillian and Ryan said.

"Okay. I think you guys did the right thing to come tell us soon." he said. "But Ryan, you're an idiot."

"I know." he said. "But it happened and it is what it is."

"Yes.", his dad agreed.

"What are you going to do, sweetheart?" his mother asked Lillian. "Do you want to keep it or give it up for adoption?"

Lillian's mouth opened, but nothing came out. She wasn't sure what she was going to do. So many thoughts of cons and pros about it were going through her head and she couldn't pick unless she had help from Ryan. "I really don't know, ma'am. I need to know if Ryan wants to keep it, but he isn't sure either."

"Don't you feel kind of funny having a child with someone else's boyfriend?" she asked.

"Mom!" Ryan said.

"This is a serious question, Ryan." she said, giving him a serious look. "Look, it's hard to raise a kid when your separated, it's even harder when your teenagers. You're children yourselves still."

"We know it's not going to be easy." Ryan said. "And Jeanette and I might be breaking up this weekend once we tell her."

"Then what?" she asked. "You two will get together? I don't think Lillian would want to feel like a rebound."

Ryan looked like he was about to argue, but he stayed quiet and looked away, angry.

"So Lillian, how do you feel about it?" his mom asked.

It took her a moment. "I have never felt so guilty and shameful in my whole life." she admitted. "I'm not the type of girl to get pregnant; I get straight A's and I volunteer at nursing homes in the summer. I have never done drugs and never drank before until that night. I'm not saying I'm perfect because I'm far from perfect but I never thought it would happen to me and the father would be my best friend's boyfriend, my best friend since childhood. It was a mistake, one I wish I could take back and I have never been so confused in my whole life."

"So you're the good girl that got pregnant by this idiot." Mr. Miller said. "Now see, if you were my daughter I would have already grabbed my shot gun and probably shot the idiot in the leg and made it look like an accident but since the idiot is my son, I'm sorry."

Ryan snort through his nose and rolled at eyes at the same time as Lillian couldn't help but give him a small smile for not accusing her of anything like Britney did today.

"Okay, now I know I'm going to sound weird but can I see your stomach?" Mrs. Miller asked as she got up, sounding kind of excited as she walked over to Lillian and Lillian's cheeks blushed up.

"Sure." she said, pulling her hoodie and shirt up a little to show her bump.

A small smile slipped on her face and she put her hand on Lillian stomach, "It's a boy, your stomach hangs low. My stomach did the same thing with my three boys." she said.

"You know, that's the same thing my mother said but it was about chicken." Lillian said, chuckling with Ryan's mother about it and they began talking about the gender myths. Lillian felt much better now and wasn't scared like she was before.

After an hour of being at Ryan's house, Lillian felt like she was getting close to Ryan's mother. Her name was Meredith. Lillian got a text from her sister telling her to get home soon because her mom made dinner.

Ryan's mom pulled Lillian into a tight hug and patted her stomach, telling her she couldn't wait to see her again. She shook hands with Ryan's dad before he pulled her into a hug and whispered in her ear 'sorry' one more time for his idiot son.

Ryan and Lillian soon got in his car and drove away.

After a few moments, he finally spoke, "That went better than I thought it would."

Lillian chuckled, "I know right. I wasn't sure what would happen but not that. And maybe I am having a boy; I have lots of signs that it might be a boy."

"Now hey, we're not sure of that." he said, chuckling. "Maybe it's a girl, daddy's little princess."

"I kind of have my heart set out on a boy." Lillian admitted. "A girl would be nice, too, though. But I love the name Gabriel."

"Really? Cause I like the name Xavier or Zane." he said.

"I am not naming my child after an X-Men character." she said and he chuckled. "But I kind of like Zane. Maybe Zane Gabriel or Gabriel Zane..."

His eyebrows came together, "Whose last name would he or she have? Mine or yours?"

"I don't know." she admitted. "Maybe he or she should get the father's last name and..." she paused when she started to realized she was planning something as if she decided on the idea of keeping the baby.

Ryan looked confused as to why she stopped talking until he must have noticed her uneasy look and realized why. He didn't say anything then and he finally made it up to her place.

"Well now that's out of the way, feels like a little less off my chest." Lillian said.

He chuckled, "Yeah, sure does." he said.

She reached down and grabbed her book bag, "Well I guess I'll see ya tomorr-",

"Lillian, wait." he said and she turned around to look at him confused. He looked a little serious, "I just want to let you know, you wouldn't be a rebound like my mother said earlier."

Her cheeks blushed up, "What are you trying to say, Ryan?"

"I'm saying...well, now I don't see you as my girlfriend's nerdy friend anymore. It's like my eyes lit up as cheesy as it sound, but I don't know. And when I saw you with my mom I don't know, my eyes lit up so much more and I realized, she never got along like that with Jeanette before.", he said, looking away real quick and chuckled once before looking back up at her. "I know it's cheesy and you probably think it's all bullshit but I've started having feelings for you. I see you differently and that stubborn head of yours. I can't stop thinking of it. You and that baby are all I think of now. I'm scared as hell but I like you. I really like, like you."

Lillian was surprised he said all that. She wasn't sure if she should believe him but she thought it was all sweet. She felt all that in her and that just made her want him more.

"And I'm sorry if I ever hurt you." he said.

"It-it's alright." she said when she could finally say something.

It was quiet between them both as they looked at each other. Lillian looked at his grey eyes and saw they looked innocent and she loved how silver they almost looked. She hoped their baby had his eyes.

She saw him inch closer to her and she blushed but when he was only an inch away she closed her eyes and she felt like she was lit on fire when his lips touched her. She reached her hand up and placed it on his neck, kissing him back. This time, no one pulled back or anything.

Her whole body felt warm and she blushed a little more when she kissed him. She wasn't very good at kissing but she knew what to do. He pressed down on her lips a little harder and bit down on her lower lip. Her mouth opened and his tongue slid in her mouth as he slid one of his arms around her waist.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Lillian jumped back away from Ryan and turned to see her sister Cassandra looking at them as she shook her head with a small grin on her face. "Lucky I saw you before dad did or he would have killed him." she chuckled as Lillian's face turned bright red as she lowered in her seat, not believing her little sister caught them making out. How embarrassing.
