Vera's P.O.V.

10:31 am.

I taped up my last box before picking it up and pushing it out into the hallway. I sighed heavily as I pushed it against the wall.

"You shouldn't be doing that. I could've helped." I heard Xavier say. I glanced up seeing his hazel eyes studying me.

I wave him off. "I got this."

He shook his head before picking up the box with ease, the one I managed to difficultly push out my room. I sighed and placed my hands on my hips. "Are you all packed up?"

He nodded.

"Are you nervous about school?" I asked.

He nodded again.

"I have this one friend. He's around your age and I think you two will be great friends if I introduce you guys." I mentioned.

His eyebrows raised. "He doesn't mind?"

I shook my head. "Actually, when I told him about you, he was the one who suggested himself. He's pretty excited to meet you. His name is Aleksander."

A smile grew on his lips as his cheeks blushed. "That's nice. I've never had anyone be excited to meet me before." He murmured shyly.

"My mom is excited to meet you too. She says that she feels that you're practically her son already." I add humorously.

He chuckled in response.

I walked back into my empty bathroom. I stripped out of my clothes when I realized I felt gross from all the energy I put into packing. I threw my sweaty clothes in the corner. I glanced in the mirror and headed for the shower. I stopped in my tracks when something had caught my eyes. My widened eyes averted to my stomach. My hands unconsciously cupped my growing belly. I was finally showing which had my heart beat a thousand miles. Even if it seemed as if I gained a couple of pounds, that wasn't the case. I had mixed emotions about my belly. I would have to wear baggier clothes to hide the baby from the world eventually.

I hopped into the shower as millions of emotions were flowing throughout my body including many thoughts through my mind. I looked down at my naked body. I wasn't going to see my feet in a few months if I looked down at myself.

Some moments, I regret not agreeing to the procedure. I regret declining what could've made my life as nothing happened.

But this was not one of those moments.

2:27 pm.

"You sure you're going to be all right?" Lilly asked as she glanced between Xavier and me worriedly.

I nodded and smiled. "Yes."

I was wearing a white crop top with ripped jeans and heeled boots. I wanted to dress out of my hoodie hoping it would be possible to feel better. Xavier was wearing a skin-tight jersey. His muscles were starting to show through his shirt. We didn't have him work out hard since he's just in his preteen years, but he wanted to work out a bit harder. His physique was now beginning to look like an average fourteen-year-old boy.

"Is the jet here?" Lilly asked.

I glanced down at my phone to check the time as I shook my head. "Of course, Lilly."

"You have everything?" She asked once more.

"You should have a small bag just in case you feel nauseated," Lilly added.

"Oh my god! Did you forget your passport?"

Lilly's repetitive questions were starting to get to my head.

"Lilly!" I shouted to get her attention.

I walked up to her and embraced her in my arms. "I appreciate you for caring, but don't worry. We will be fine. Everything will be fine. Besides, I'll see you soon."

I felt her nod before I heard a sniffle. I glanced down at her face. "And I'll call and text you every day if that makes you feel better. I'm just pregnant, that's all." I say reassuringly. It felt strange to admit that out loud. It was going to take time getting used to.

I glanced down at my phone to see the time once more.

"It's time to go," I mumbled as I grabbed my purse and a small backpack that had my essential items including my computer.

Everything else was already loaded onto the private jet. They were waiting on me and Xavier's arrival for taking off. I called my mother to have the private jet fly us over because I was not in the mood to have any confrontation with the paparazzi.

I waved at Lilly as Xavier and I walked further away from her. She waved back eagerly before blowing me a kiss to which I returned.

I was going to miss Los Angeles.

1:06 am.

A couple of bodyguards seemed intimidating with their firm responses, actions, whatever you name, they were on top of everything. I noticed they were different bodyguards from the ones that were assigned to me at the party. I glanced at Xavier who seemed slightly frightened by the big bulky men. I placed a hand on his shoulder as we were walking towards the exit of the airport.

Our plane had landed around twelve o'clock in the morning at J.F.K. airport. I felt terrible waking up Xavier from his peaceful slumber, but I had no strength to carry him. My mother decided it was best for both of us to stay at the mansion until Xavier was situated at school. When he does, that's when we could move into their hotel that was in the city.

One of the guards opened the limousine door for Xavier and I once we reach the car. They were putting our luggage in another vehicle when we sat inside. Xavier seemed intimidated by the lifestyle.

"You okay, Xav?" I asked, giving him the nickname Zave.

His tired eyes met mine. "I'm not used to these kinds of things." He murmured as his eyes were droopy.

I opened my arms for him to sleep in while we were on our way to the mansion. He accepted and he fell into slumber once my arms embraced him. I laid my head on top of his and ran my fingers through his hair in a comforting way. Soon enough, I heard gentle snores from Xavier.

I glanced outside at the city that never sleeps. We were heading towards Southampton where the wealthiest families live, including mine. My mother assured me that she and my father would make Xavier feel at home since he's shy around all of us. I was glad Xavier was getting comfortable with me, but I still don't know what has happened to him.

1:47 am.

I patted Xavier shoulder as we were pulling up into the mansion's grand driveway. "Xavier? We're here." I mumbled as his eyes were fluttering open.

He rubbed his eyes and sat up. Both doors opened by the guards and we stepped out immediately. My eyes met the dark night, the lights inside the mansion illuminating light outside as well as the garden lights for me to see clearly. I glanced behind seeing Xavier walking up to me and the guards getting my bags and boxes filled with our items. One guard began walking towards the mansion. I patted Xavier's shoulder to follow him with me.

The door was open when we were at the entrance of the building. I doubt anyone was awake, but my thoughts were wrong when I saw my parents emerge towards one of the corridors.

"My angel! How are you?" My mother said as she came forward to give me a hug.

"I'm good, mom," I replied, smiling at her. My smile faltered when my eyes fell on my father who was observing us.

"And how are you, Xavier? Tired?" She asked as she cupped his cheek.

His cheeks blushed and he softly nodded with a small grin.

"Holly! Please prepare for their rooms. They seem very exhausted." My mother announced to one of the maids that were walking around silently.

The maid, Holly, showed the other maids that had our luggage's now towards up the stairs where the bedrooms were.

"Tomorrow, we will all have breakfast together. We have things to discuss relating to Xavier." My father announced which caught my attention. This was my first time hearing his voice talk directly to me.

Well, sort of directly. He was talking to all of us, but it included me. I nodded as well as my mother did.

"Wonderful. I'll show you to your bedrooms now. I have you two's room next to each other just in case of Xavier is having trouble settling down. I want you to feel at home, Xavier." My mother clarified to which we both nodded.

"See you tomorrow morning. Goodnight." My father said. My mother leaned up to him and placed a peck on his lips. He offered her a small smile before walking away from the grand entrance, back to his cold exterior.

My mother faced both of us before saying, "Shall we?"
