The sound of loud pots banging and obnoxious loud singing woke me up from my fantastic dream. I squinted my eyes open before turning over and sitting up watching JuJu stand in my door frame making all the noise she could possibly make.
"I ain't get no sleep cause of y'all..... y'all ain't goin get no sleep because of me!" She yelled as she banged my good pans together.
I stood to my feet grabbing the pans from her and throwing it on my bed. The attitude was probably written all over my face.
"Why the hell are you using my good damn pots and stop before you wake my kids up dammit." I rolled my eyes before walking into the bathroom knowing that my breathe was probably on 10 right now.
"Y'all kids ain't here because Zander brought them to Ms. Dawn's house. He left about 2 hours ago. I ain't want wake you up that early so I stayed put until now." She shrugged her shoulders before jumping onto my counter watching me take care of my morning hygiene.
"He ain't tell me or even leave me a note. Niggas." I rolled my eyes already knowing that I was gonna have a painfully long conversation with him later tonight.
"Chop Chop Chop. Hurry ya ass up and put some sweats on or some shit. We got shit to do." JuJu jumped down from the counter rushing me.
"What we gotta do?" She ignored me causing me to roll my eyes. I finished my morning hygiene before I slipped some tights on and put one of Zander's hoodies on. I slipped my feet in some Uggs before leaving my hair in the slick back pony tail that needed to be taken down.
"You look so much like a mom." JuJu laughed before watching me lock up the house. I walked over to the car immediately getting in.
"It's hot as a bitch for it to be January." The heat was too much especially for it to be the beginning of January.
"Well we do live in Texas." She spoke sarcastically causing me to roll my eyes.
"Ya eyes goin end up being stuck as much as you rolling them this morning. Somebody must've pissed in ya cereal." I just ignored her as I looked out the window.
"I've been having weird mood swings lately." I felt my stomach grumble slightly.
"I know what will make you feel better. Food!" She turned into the Chick Fil A line.
"So what we got to do today?" She kept texting on her phone acting like she didn't hear my question. She drove up to the speaker without looking at me once.
"Can I have a ummm.... Two Chicken Biscuits, A medium hash brown with a orange Juice. Can I also have Chicken Minis, a large hash brown with a lemonade."
"Hello?" She looked over at me before laughing.
"We're having a mommy pamper day since we haven't had a day to ourselves in a while." I nodded deciding not to question her anymore. I was just gonna shut up and eat my food.
"So what are you getting done to your hair?" We sat in an empty hair salon of one of the most amazing frontal stylists.
"I'm thing just a simple side part with wind curls. Something simple." I didn't feel like be dramatic with my hair right now. I was thinking something real cute and simple since my hair was just in a blue lace frontal wig.
"Bitch I'm going crazy. I'm thinking rainbow. Something different." I was confused on how we were in the shop when the woman never does hair on Saturday's. She always said that Saturdays and Sundays were reserved for her kids.
"How you set this up JuJu?" She chuckled before shrugging her shoulders.
"I have my ways." I laughed at her before looking at the stylist walking up.
......
"Bitch you look good hoe." JuJu cheered me on as I swung my hair side to side with my tongue stuck out.
"Stiff where? Stiff where?" I laughed at myself before looking in the mirror. I couldn't stop playing in my hair. I went from looking like a bum to a bad bitch.
I decided on just a simple lace frontal and she ended up doing my lashes too. It really enhanced my look and I was super excited for the rest of the day with JuJu.
"What's next?" I asked as we were walking out the salon.
"Waxing." She shrugged which caused me to laugh to myself.
"Well you're getting a wax by yourself since I went got one a couple days ago." She gasped dramatically before looking at me like she was finna kill me.
"Why?" I laughed before looking at her.
"I needed one and I had a coupon from my woman so why not get one. You was busy that day."
"Shame Shame. Shame! On you. Not inviting your bestfriend to come waxing with you."
"You'll be fine."
Zander Holland
"Today is the day." I looked over at Kam and Ace as we stood outside of the building.
"About time that you are proposing yo my little sister. I've been waiting since you brought her over the first time." Kam joked before looking away.
"So what's the plan?" I looked over at Ace before rubbing my hands together.
"Well we're having a photo shoot. She's getting ready right now. I explained to JuJu that we should trick her and say it's for her new line for couples so she won't get so curious. When she turns around I'm gonna be on one knee." I couldn't contain my smile when explaining on my
"Okay my brother finally getting him a wife. Y'all finna make some more babies." I laughed thinking about having more kids with Mahogany.
Looking down at my phone I noticed JuJu texted me 5 minutes ago explaining to me how they were 10 minutes away. My eyes widened as I told everybody to go to their places. The cameraman recording everything captured my true reaction. I watched as the car stopped in front of me letting Maylee out.
She was wearing a simple black dress that hugged every curve that her slim body held. The hair and lashes made her look 10 times better. I felt my hands start to get clammy and my heart felt as if it was about to beat out of my chest.
"You look so good baby." I smiled while helping her get out the car.
"Thank you my love. What is all this?" She smiled looking at the camera man.
"JuJu needed a couple for her new line coming out and who would be a better couple for the pictures than us." She nodded while I helped her into the building going straight into the elevator. As we kept going up and up my heart was beating more.
"Baby why you so nervous?" She whispered while rubbing my hands trying to calm me down.
"I just never took pictures before that's all." She nodded as we stepped out of the elevator onto the roof top.
Rose petals were scattered around along with candles. A helicopter was in the background adding onto the scenery from the buildings of downtown.
"Hello. I'm James i'll be photographing y'all tonight." The man came and spoke to us as if I wasn't talking to him an hour ago.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Maylee and this is Zander." We did our little greetings before the time for the proposal was near.
"So this picture will be by yourself. You'll hold these rose petals and turn around on 3. When you turn around you'll throw up the rose petals." She nodded listening to the mans instructions.
"This will be the practice so you can get used to it. Don't release the rose petals this time." She nodded before going over to her spot.
She practiced for the first time and it was time for me to propose. The man pulled out a small cloth so my suit pants wouldn't get dirty. The man was talking to her so she was distracted and wouldn't turn around.
"On the count of three." I felt myself getting extremely nervous now. I was shaking internally.
"One!"
"Two!" I could see she started to shift to the side a little getting ready to spend.
"Three!" She turned around throwing the petals in the air. She held a large smile but it soon turned into confusion when she noticed me on one knee.
I could hear the footsteps of our family as they inched closer to us as she stood there with tears in her eyes and her hand over her mouth. I invited all our family over so they could share this moment with us.
"Maylee baby. On this day 2 years ago was when I first laid my eyes on you. I thought you were the most beautiful person that I ever laid my eyes on you. I met you at your speech and hearing you talk that night made me more drawn into you. I got to know you and you were my best friend before anything. We ended up healing together and I couldn't be more grateful for you. We became as one and became parents to three beautiful kids. So Maylee will you do me the honor and become my Wife. Do me the honor and become Mrs. Zander Holland."
"Yes!" She jumped up and down wiggling her hand in my face. I grabbed her hand sliding the ring onto her finger.
"It's pretty and simple. You know me so well baby." She jumped onto me placing a kiss on my lips.
"Congratulations!" Everybody congratulated us as we held each other in joy.
Both of our lost souls came together as one. We were now connected.
I wanna thank everybody that rocked with me from the beginning. This was such an amazing experience rewriting this story. Thank you all again for being amazing this whole time. A new story is soon to dropped called W.I.L.D be on the lookout.
