Death calls

My hand slid up the door frame of Jeremiah's study. My tight black leather skirt hugging my body like a glove. Tucked in was a red lace lingerie top.

At the sight of me Jeremiah nearly fell out of his chair. His feet finding their way to me and my hand finding it's hold firmly on his throat. I had all control at this point. His body melting under my touch.

His hot breath against my lips as I drew them close. His eyes closed tightly his long lashes brushing his cheeks. His breathing was heavy.

"Don't go." He breathed out in a hushed tone. I could feel the testosterone coursing through his veins. He was like a puppet on my strings. The disposition I had on him.

"Death is calling my name." I nearly growl with the urging kick to laugh, but I held it down.

"But darling it's so late..." he trailed off glancing over to the wall clock.

"Yes but night time is my time love, and the bitch has had it coming for a while." I chuckled masking his laugh in return. I had watched Jeremiah's sanity spiral down quickly.

"What have you got in mind?" He nearly dances with lust.

"A killer never gives away their plans." I now held his face in the palm of my hand with my  thumb and index finger caressing the sides of his face. My lips brushed his the red stain of my lips transferring to his faintly. His breathing was harsh under my spell and I loved it.

Glock pulled at the chain attached to his spiked leather collar. His long white canines bared as he snarled. A simper tugged at the corner of my lips as we both shared the same amounts of eagerness.

The apartment complex I once called home didn't know what was hanging over them, and that only ignited my flames.

The wind blew through my black trench coat, night hung thick in the abnormally quiet Gotham streets. A winter storm was slowly brewing and the cold air clung to everything with the hint of a frigid gust.

Glock lugged at the chain again, low growl rumbled in his deep chest.

My presence was quickly known as I entered the building. The rattling of Glock's leash and the click of my shoes echoed through the scarcely decorated lobby.

Jeremiah could never understand my choice of shoes for this type of work. It was more of a fashion thing than other reasons. There was something about the terror it brought I liked so much.

I loved the thought of how the sound affected others. Every time they laid their heads down at night and closed their eyes. The way the click would haunt them.

The smell of floor cleaner and mop water filled my nose. Given the time I knew Hank had recently left to go home after he had mopped the slick white floors. I almost felt pity for the older man, the mess he would have to clean up in the morning.

Dim wall lights illuminated the plants I had thought were real for years. As I passed the nice white furniture the cherry desk grew closer.

Behind the wooden rectangle and past a big PC monitor stood Adler. Dressed in a nice button up the front collared white shirt, a creased brown jacket laid over it.

He looked up from the notebook he was always writing in. His hair a sweaty mess from the long hours of the days shift.

"Ma'am dogs over fifty pounds aren't permitted in this complex, you must also provide a key card after eight." His voice reached me making my skin prickle due to the husk in his tone.

He slightly shook at the view of Glock. One thing I picked up about Adler from his first week, he had a fear of dogs. I realized this the day he nearly shit himself at the sight of Mr. Prisca's enormous English Mastiff Opko. He wasn't allowed to say anything due to Mr. Prisca's ownership of the apartment complex.

Poor Adler knew he would be out of a job if he gave his two sense about the owners prized companion. He also had Opko made out to be a bad dog, which wasn't the case. Opko was one of the sweetest dogs I had met, dogs just didn't like Adler.

The desk was roughly three dangerous steps from me, which I made sure I took slowly. Each step brought me more joy than the last. Watching the color in Adler's face fade, as if he was being drained. The light grew brighter and allowed my features to be better seen.

A half eaten carton of Kung Pao chicken laid crooked on the stone desk top. Two light brown chopsticks stuck out of the still slightly steaming takeout order. The waxy white box was dirty around the edges. The spicy sauce from the chicken had dripped onto the small red pagoda.

I grabbed the box and pulled it to me. My fingers found the chopsticks in a comfortable position and I began filling my mouth. My red stain stamped the wood of the utensil.

"Potter... Rou-"

"It's Valeska now." I corrected him softly as I gently waved my left hand at him flashing my ring.

I slowly turned it to me slightly cleaning my front teeth with my tongue.

"Doesn't he have such good taste?" My words were barely above a whisper as I stood calm. I admired the dainty ring as I readjusted it so it was centered.

"What do you want Potter?" He bit at me. I couldn't help but chuckle at how brave he was being. I knew it was a front but I applauded him for the effort.

"Tell me Addy, did you learn that in the Boy Scouts?" He gave me a confused look as he obviously didn't know what I was talking about. I nodded my head in the direction of his Eagle Scout pin.

"Teach me what, Potter." The habitual use of my name gave his fear away. Something my father had taught my sister and I at a young age. Call your fears by name and they're not as powerful. That wasn't the case for this situation.

"Nothing Adler. Forget it... knot tying isn't gonna help you now."

"What do you mean help m-" his words froze as my long switch blade pressed against his stubbled cheek.

"Remember all the hell and terrible attitudes you gave me when I worked here?" I nearly purred in his ear, as I now stood with him behind the desk.

His hand shakily reached for the panic button.

"I wouldn't press that button, unless you want to lose that hand." He clenched his jaw at me as Glock snarled at the hand hovering over the panic button. All I had to do was utter the words he knew so well, and he would deliver the scissor bite he was dying to take out on Adler's body.

"I don't need it anyways. I'd rather lose my hand and the police know you killed me, then die and you get away with it." He growled nearly making me topple over in a fit of laughter.

"Oh addy! You're truly hilarious..." I trailed off trying to catch my breath.

"They're gonna know I did it anyways. I always leave my mark. They know everything I do, I just never get caught." He quirked an eyebrow at me.

"You press that button I'll kill you and still get out of here before they get here."

"So you're a coward?" His words caused me to dig the first inch of my blade into his chest. I drug the blade from his upper peck to his belly button.

His scream was music to my ears.

"Shhhh Addy! Wouldn't want to wake the residents would we? Plus you should save your breath we're only getting started." I smiled widely at him.

Glock cocked his head at me I mumbled the faint words that made my stomach churn and it sent Glock into an attack of rage.

Adler's dead body laid drenched in blood, Glock's teeth marks and my cut marks covered his body. A jagged PV oozed a deep red from his cheek.

I sat with my back against the desk, blood soaked my clothes from head to toe. I had stripped from my jacket halfway through.

Glock sat close to me with his muzzle coated in blood. We finished off the remaining of Adler's Chinese takeout.

I gave Glock the last bite after he had let out a whimper and gave me those big brown eyes.

"Alright you little beggar." I laughed dropping the sweet and sour chicken into his mouth then scratching behind his cropped ear.

"Let's go home and get cleaned up? Sound good?" I ask the large Pinscher. He answers with a wag of his docked tail.

Sorry it's been so long! I got in a relationship and I've been busy falling in love so forgive me:) sorry if this chappy is shitty I'm a little dusty. I want to apologize for the major reconstruction! I'm trying to get my shit together and my story aligned.
