Enirr:

Watching Salem flee like a deer freed from a trap only hyphened my anger. Akjan had disobeyed my orders – scaring the human woman. To make matters worse, upon arriving at the scene I had snapped, almost losing my cool.

"I think that went well," Akjan giggled unafraid of my anger.

That would change.

Now.

I grabbed her arm tightly, and flicked my fingers. My glory pulsed around us as the ground below us split. Akjan gasped as we plunged downwards. Straight into the Abyss. Surrounded by total darkness I stretched my wings out – taking care to not get lost in their place of darkness.

A place of madness.

"Enirr," she mumbled lowly, her game of pretend melting away.

Her fear only satisfied me for a moment. Then I wished for more. I was entirely angry at her for speaking such words to Salem. Because she had gone against my orders. So I let go of the wingless fallen angel. And she fell once more. Into complete darkness.

Her scream was music to my ears. I relished in it, counting to ten ever so slowly in my head before I dropped. Plunging after the fool, then grabbing her arm. Spreading my wings, I wrenched her up then snapped my fingers.

We appeared back in my office. Dizziness clouded my mind but I pushed it away. Letting Akjan go, she stumbled forward before dropping to her knees. The angel shook with fear as she craned her head to look up at me. Her eyes wide, and pure gold as she struggled to contain her own glory.

Not that it could compare to my own.

"You will listen when I give an order, do you understand?" I spoke calmly.

She nodded once, then grinned, "That was amazing. I felt...afraid. Alone. You made me utterly fear you Enirr. Playing with my weakness, well done. I will not disturb your word again."

Satisfied, I nodded.

She stood slowly, moving her hands through her hair as if to fix it. Then she looked at me, her eyes mirroring a human's minus the golden iris she could not change. Under her suspicious gaze, my own eyes narrowed.

"You seem to care greatly that I had scared off your human. Do you understand now? I suppose you should be thanking me," she mused.

I blinked at her, not understanding, "What are you rambling about? I grew angry that you went against my order. I told you to make her feel welcome, not to scare her."

"What?" she gasped, "You cannot be this blind?"

I cocked my head at her disrespect and she quickly stepped back.

"Even I can see it and I was made without such an emotion," she sighed sadly, "I'm beginning to think you are a lost cause."

"For your sake I hope Salem comes back," I replied.

She waved me off, heading to the door, "Yes, yes. Because I 'broke your word' and totally not because you care that I may have scared her away. You are such a fool sometimes."

I frowned.

A fool? I truly did not understand what she was talking about. I was not stupid, but confused. What could Akjan see in myself that I could not? She was the real fool, daring to think she'd get away with scaring Salem so even after I expressed my orders not to.

"A fool she said," I hissed annoyed, "How preposterous."
