Zuko slipped into Mai's home, avoiding all notice. He hadn't seen Amaya since he started writing his letter to Mai. He looked over and saw a picture of himself and Mai, staring at it until Mai morphed into Amaya, who popped out, half scaring him.
"Damnit, Amaya," he hissed.
She giggled, disappearing through a window while he turned away from the picture.
He lay the letter down onto her pillow and turned away, looking at the letter over his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Mai," he murmured.
"You should really say that to her face," Amaya commented.
"You know why I can't do that," he whispered.
She hummed in response, and they quietly disappeared into the shadows.
