Starts in Nick's POV and then switches to Carny's. For the sake of flow of the story I'm not going to mark when this happens it should be pretty obvious. Hope you enjoy this one!
Leon was lying on the ground while Raven, cut the air with his sword to get the blood off the blade before he turned around to look at Nick who was picking himself up off of the ground. His hand went to the plasma gun that he'd found in the weapon shack though he had no illusions about being able to shoot Raven before he cut him down should the masked demon decide to do it. Raven started walking toward Nick who was already backed up against the metal wall of the weapon shack and had nowhere to go. There was a clicking sound and Nick could hear a very high pitched whining sound letting him know that he'd just turned on his vibration blade. He's meaning to get this over with as painless as he can, Nick thought pulling the hand gun out only to have Raven take one quick swipe with his sword cutting the gun in half.
"Don't fight me Nick." He said drawing ever closer with the tip of his sword pointing toward Nick giving him a good look at the barely visible movement that traveled down the blade. "I can't promise a painless death if you try to fight. For both our sakes, just don't move."
"Aren't you going to at least tell me why you're doing this?" Nick asked as the blade's dull side grazed his chin drawing blood just because of the vibration alone. "Think you could grant me that last request at least?"
Raven gave Nick a strange look as if he himself didn't fully know why he was doing this before he closed his eyes and turned his head away for the briefest of moments. When he opened his eyes again they were bright gold and even with half of his face covered by that mask Nick could see that Raven had shut off whatever emotional conflict he was feeling as he took his sword in both hands and brought it back. "Because you know Vega's secrets, the projects and programs that can never be spoken of. My employer cannot have you alive and telling the world about them. I'm sorry-"
"Don't be." Nick said just as Leon grabbed the demon by the shoulders and literally tossed him like a ragdoll across the camp. Nick stopped watching where Raven was going almost as soon as Leon threw him and ran to check on his adopted brother who'd collapsed after he'd tossed the other demon. "Leon, are you-"
Nick didn't bother asking when he saw where the exit wound was on Leon's back and he scrambled for his bag. Leon had just been stabbed right through his heart, a wound that would've killed any other demon but for some reason that even Nick didn't know Leon could take a wound like that and still live so long as his brain remained intact. But even though he was alive Leon's strength would be less than that of a teenaged human, throwing Raven like that must've taken everything he had and left him with nothing else to even stand. Leon was puking out blood and from what Nick could see there was still a large amount of blood leaking from the wound in his chest, he had to be sealed up now.
Nick reached into his bag and pulled out the only thing he had that would create any kind of heat. A very small yet powerful blow torch that he used when he had to cut through metal or weld something together. He twisted the top off and sparked the flame before he leaned over Leon and lifting his brother's shirt up past the wound. He nearly threw up at the sight of Leon's body trying to push something that looked like muscle out of the wound so Nick did the only thing he could. He prayed that Leon wouldn't lash out and stuck his finger in the wound to push the muscle back in. Leon let out a scream of agony that ended in a terrifying gurgle as another wad of blood fell from his mouth. Nick pulled his bloody finger out and pinched the wound as close to closed as he could before he recoiled from it and set the torch to it.
The loud hissing sound that came from that sent shivers down Nick's back as and Leon threw a punch at the ground that ended with his fist buried up to his wrist in the ground. Once Nick had closed the wound he turned Leon over and did the same to his throat first after seeing that it had been slashed open so badly it was a miracle that he even had a head. Leon tried throwing Nick off at that point but Nick persisted as much as he could with the fire, succeeding in closing half of the wound before he was taken off his feet by a bright blue flash and slammed into the wall of the weapon shack. The entire building shook at the impact and Nick was grasping at the hand that was gripping his throat while the torch and Leon lay maybe a good three feet away.
"I told you not to-" Raven didn't get a chance to finish before a long tentacle like arm flew from Nick's left and slammed into the other demon sending him flying into the surrounding shacks.
Nick fell to the ground gasping for air as he turned to see Carny bringing his hand back from where Raven had disappeared. Carny, not Cole, he could tell by the brightness in those wild orange eyes of his as well as the wicked smile that he wore as he peered down at Nick and the injured Leon on the ground. Nick not knowing what Carny might do reached for the blow torch and held it out with the flame pointed at the psychotic demon. Carny saw the little flame and let out a laugh so oddly disturbing that Nick could only describe it as the laugh of a maniac.
"Dumb-dumb!" Carny said getting in Nick's face and holding the torch away from him. "I'm not going to hurt you! Why would I hurt you when He told me not to? So strange you are, yes, so very strange for someone so- sma-art. I'll handle the piggy; you make sure he stays alive. If he dies then make no mistake, I will bathe in your blood and wear your face like a mask. I'll use your hide like a rug. I'll do things to you that will make you wish that I'd just killed you, do you understand me Brain?"
Gazing into those wild and deranged eyes, it was all that Nick could do to nod his head in agreement to what this psycho had just said to him. "Excellent!" Carny said turning around just as Raven was emerging from the broken wall with his sword in hand. Carny flexed his hands before they grew to their disproportionate size and the long silver claws emerged from what were supposed to be his palms. "Now than, 'Raven.' I have a question for you."
"What could I psychopath have to ask me that would mean anything?" Raven asked holding his sword with both hands that only made Carny smile. "Ask it if you must."
"Don't mind if I do." Carny said slowly walking toward Raven with his giant hands swinging limply as he moved away from Leon and Brain. Raven started walking to the side as well keeping pace with Carny and matching him step for step. "Did you know that no one's blood is the same color? Of course scientists will probably say that it is but what do they know? Have they ever been around so much blood that they could see, that they could notice all the tiny differences in the blood?"
"You're a fool if you think that's true." Raven said coldly still gripping his sword as tightly as possible. "Maybe there's a difference between humans and demons, but there's no separate shades. I've seen enough of it to know there's nothing special about it, blood is blood."
"Ah but that's where you're wrong Raven. Or, should I call you Roy?" Raven's grip on the sword visible tightened when Carny said that which only made him smile even more. "You and you're little police commissioner father; living in such a cute little house you'd never think that you were a demon."
"Mention him again and I swear I'll end you right now."
"I wonder what he'd say if I sent him your head in a jar filled with all your blood." Carny pressed with the Leon and Nick now being at a distance where they wouldn't be getting dragged into this. He continued talking with his voice getting louder and more sadistic as he went on. "You think he'd cry? Think he'd mourn for the boy he thinks is human?! I'd like to find out, so let's get this started Raven! I want to see what color you bleed! SHOW IT ME NOW!!!"
Raven let out a loud yell as he ran at Carny who snarled and ran to meet him with his claws extended. Carny brought back his arm and brought it down just before they were about to reach each other only to have Raven vanish in a flash of light and his claw buried in the soft soil. There was a whish-ing sound and suddenly Carny felt an explosion of pain rake its way down his back. He yowled in pain before twisting around ripping his claw from the ground and kicking up large amounts of dirt as he brought his large hand down only to rip through even more soil. This time though Carny kept going thinking that Raven would attack from behind and he was right, the masked demon appeared just as Carny's massive claw came up so he blocked it with his sword.
There was a loud grinding sound as Raven's blade clashed with Carny's claws and blue sparks were flaring up where they met. Raven's face was red with effort while Carny was as relaxed as he could be. He let out an insane cackle before he completely overpowered Raven by sending his arm straight up and ripping the sword right out of his hand. Raven shot backwards thinking he was safe but Carny thrust his arm forward and it shot forward like a bullet tearing into Raven's stomach pinning him to a tree. Carny gripped the tree with his massive hand and used it to pull him toward Raven screaming as he drew nearer and nearer. When he was close enough he took a huge swing with his free arm missing Raven who'd vanished in a flash, but managed to rip over 3/4 of the tree's trunk off sending it crashing to the ground.
He turned around and raised his arm up just as Raven appeared again bringing his sword down blocking it with his enlarged hand. There was a metallic clang as the sword dug into his hand and struck the unnaturally dense bones that Carny's arms were made of. Even with the vibration switch on the blade wasn't able to cut through them and now that Carny knew it he snatched Raven right out of the air and drove him to the ground. He let out another evil cackle as he leaped into the air pinning both Raven's arms down with his hands before using his stretched out arms like a slingshot and bringing him straight down feet first. He crashed into Raven's sternum with a loud crunch as the two of them sank at least a good foot into the ground. Blood shot from the filters on Raven's mask as he let out a scream and Carny shrank one of his hands back down to normal size to run his fingers through the little bit of blood.
"My, what beautiful blood you have." He said tilting his head to the side and running his thumb over it. "Such a nice shade of red. I've never seen such a bright red, yet at the same time it seems so dark. I want more!" Carny ripped his hand from the ground and took a vicious swipe at Raven with his hand only to have the strike blocked by Raven's sword. "Oh you still have some fight in you. Good, it makes the kill that much more fun when you try to stop me!"
Laughing, Carny stomped as hard as he could on Raven's no doubt broken ribs which made the demon squirm and scream beneath him. Carny closed his eyes and made a sound of pleasure at the sound of the other demon screaming before he looked down at him and took another swipe this time with both hands. One was blocked by Raven's sword but the other was caught but his free hand, now covered with feathers and even had some claws of his own. Carny glanced down at Raven and saw that his face was beginning to get outlined with feathers while his golden eyes actually flashed as he began to cry out with effort pushing Carny's arms away from him.
"Ah there he is." Exclaimed Carny stretching his neck so that they were face to face. "There's the demon I want to be fighting, not this Cyberware. Get angry! Fight me, kill me if you can or on my life I will e paying a visit to that pretty little girl Lauren as well!"
Raven's eyes grew wide and then Carny saw it. A flash of anger so pure that it reminded him of Leon when they'd fought for the first time as Raven gripped his hands so hard it actually started to hurt. "You won't touch her!" He screamed so loud just before all of the Cyberware that he'd been wearing including his mask all but ripped itself from him. Raven vanished beneath Carny leaving him to look around for him only to have him appear right in front of him and drag his claws across his face. "You'll never get anywhere close to her! I'll kill you if you do!"
"That's what I want to hear!" Carny said catching the next swipe as two massive wings burst from Raven's back. His skin began to crawl and he felt the crest begin to form on his head as he and Raven held the other's wrist. "Now fight me with all that anger or else you'll end up as just another victim that I've already forgotten!"
The two of them sprang away from each other, Raven taking to the air while Carny ran along the trees on all fours. He leapt into the air so that he was on the other demon's level before throwing his leg straight out. It stretched just as fast as his arms did but Raven moved aside rather easily before he vanished. Carny brought he leg back to him and flipping his body as much as he could throwing as hard a kick as he could muster and caught Raven right in the face as soon as he appeared. They landed on the ground hard, Carny on all fours while Raven landed on his back. Carny let out a growl and launched himself at Raven tumbling along before he threw him into a tree so hard that the force alone nearly brought it down.
Cackling as he did it Carny threw his arm forward pinning Raven to the tree once again before he spoke. "Here's something that I just learned!" He screamed in a sadistic voice. "I'm sure you'll recognize it!"
There was a loud whirring noise and Carny watched as a faint orange light began to travel down his stretched out arm heading straight for Raven. He saw it and tried struggling out of Carny's grip, he recognized it alright. The light reached his hand and there was a very small blast that escaped Carny's hand but it was hard enough to send the tree down to the ground in a hurry. Raven though just looked like he got hit really hard in the chest before he went down with the tree. Carny brought his hand back to him and trotted over to Raven almost skipping where he found the other demon lying on the ground holding a large purple bruise on his exposed chest.
"Aww, did I hurt you?" Carny asked in a mocking tone grabbing Raven by the hair and lifting him up off the ground. "Do you have a boo-boo? Aw poor birdie. Don't worry I'll make it all better." Carny put his hand to Raven's face and the whirring sound started up again. "Its not nearly as strong as Leon's but it'll get the job done, it'll probably just take a few tries okay?"
The orange glow was traveling down Carny's arm and was almost to his hand when he heard Leon's voice. "Carny," he shouted. "Put him down. We need to find out what he knows."
"Oh come one Leon!" Carny exclaimed holding the orange glow where it was and looking over at the red-eyed demon who was all but leaning on Nick for support. "You can't tell me that you don't won't this piggy here dead after what he did to you."
"It's not a matter of that," Leon said pulling off of Nick so that he was standing on his own. "Personally I'd like to have him dead. But we need to know why it is that Vega really wants us dead. And you know don't you?"
Carny turned back to Raven and moved his hand down to the demon's throat and held him up off the ground so that his feet were dangling in the air. "Well, start talking." Carny said resigning himself to not being able to kill him after the fight he'd just had but it was what Leon wanted, and as far as Carny was concerned, Leon's word was law. "Or am I going to be able to torture the answers out of you?"
"Torture me if you want." Raven said spitting in Carny's face. "You'll never get anything out of me."
"Really?" Leon said walking over to them though Carny couldn't help but notice how he held his chest when he walked. "So the secrets that have are completely worth not being able to see Lauren again? And here I thought you liked her."
Raven's face changed at the mere mention of that Lauren girl and he suddenly seemed a lot more cooperative just then. "Okay, I'll tell you what you want-"
He never got the chance to finish before Carny found himself on the ground after a bright flash and when he looked up again he saw that same android that'd picked them all apart the last time they were in Montana holding its arm around Raven's neck. It looked somehow different though, it's eyes were glowing white now and now that he was looking at it a bit more closely he saw that it had three horns sprouting from its forehead and there was a mechanical tail flowing behind it. It opened its mouth and let out that horrible metallic scream before it vanished with Raven still in its clutches.
"No!" Leon shouted falling back to the ground and holding his chest after trying to get up too fast. "Nick can you track it!"
They both turned to the younger demon who Carny had come to call Brain instead of Nick since he was so smart. Brain shook his head before digging in his bag and holding up his destroyed PET. Leon let out a growl before looking getting up to his feet and telling them both that they were heading back to the car. "We're being set up. And I don't care if I have to rip my way through all the Lawkeepers and policemen in Washington; I'm going to get answers from Vega."
OMG THIS ISN'T 10 PAGES!!!!! I know and sorry for that it won't happen again I promise. I didn't want to add this onto the last chapter like I was originally going to do, because I didn't want to confuse you all by going from Lauren and Roy, to Leon, to Nick, and then to Carny all in one chapter. Plus this way I got to make the title Carny's catchphrase: What color do you bleed? Lol, anyway what'd you think of Carny's POV? It won't happen often because it's kind of hard to translate his insanity into words but how'd I do? Any of you like the level of brutality and just overall insanity that Carny brings to a fight? It was better than his fight with Leon I know sorry for that too. And how do you think Leon going for answers when he's pissed off is going to go?
