You sat next to Bucky on the medical bed. Bruce finally got the X-rays back.
"Okay, lights," He said putting the X-rays on a screen.
The lights go off and the lights of the screen light up. You can see all the broken ribs and there's a few cracks on some of them. You are kinda shocked that there's more this time and Bucky's just pissed.
"So, as you can see, I don't even know how you were able to do ballet with Natasha earlier today," Bruce said looking at you.
You shrugged your shoulders and said, "I've done it before."
"Yeah and you can't do it again," Tony said coming over in his swivel chair.
"Yeah no never," Bucky said shaking his head no.
"I wanna take your blood," Bruce said.
"Why?" You asked.
"Cause I wanna see if there's anything special in your DNA," Tony said.
"Pfft, I'm just a regular teenager," you said.
"Do it tomorrow, she should get some rest," Natasha said popping her head into the lab.
"Yeah, kid, come on, I'll show you to a room," Bucky said.
You nodded and followed him out.
"What's gonna happen to me?" You asked.
"Honestly? I wouldn't know. I hope we can keep you around. You seem pretty decent," Bucky said stopping and looking at you.
"Pfft, Thanks, you old fart," you said.
"Respect your elders, kid," Bucky said putting an arm around your shoulders and leading you off.
You rolled your eyes and he took you to a spare room across from his.
"Steve is next door on the right, Natasha is on the left, Samantha is next to mine and I'm across the hall," Bucky said opening the door. "There's a shower in the bathroom and there's clothes on the bed."
"Okay," You said.
"If you need anything just let us know," Bucky said. "Also, get some rest, kid."
"Thank you," You said.
"Don't mention it," he said.
You go in and he closes the door. You find the clothes and decide to take a shower. Bucky goes off to find Steve and tell him what's happening with you. Everyone, the important people, are gathered around in the common room on the couches.
"How's the kid?" Tony asked.
"She's okay," Bucky said.
"What's the situation?" Steve asked.
"Her foster parents are pieces of shit," Bucky said.
"And that's why they've been arrested," Tony said.
"Are we keeping her?" Wanda asked.
"It's up to the kid," Tony said. "Also, I'm gonna do some DNA test and maybe we can find her biological parents."
"I read her foster care file and she's never even been adopted once," Natasha said. "I suggest we keep her here for awhile."
"I'm fine with it," Steve said.
(Time skip)
Steve woke up to hearing you having a nightmare beside his room. He gets up without hesitation. At first he thinks it's Bucky but realizes its you after going out into the hallway. He goes into your room and closes the door behind him. Your face is all scrunched and tears run down your cheeks. He's seen it with Bucky before.
Steve climbs into the bed and wrapped his arms around you. He pulls you closer and moved your hair that's sticking to your face out of the way. He has his back against the headboard.
"It's okay, Y/n, you're safe," Steve cooed rubbing your back gently.
Steve is absolutely tired but he doesn't care much. He just wants to make sure you're alright like an older brother would. He hopes that Bucky doesn't have a nightmare tonight or he'll have to figure out a way to help the both of you. You wake up screaming and sobbing.
"Hey, Hey, it's okay," Steve said as you start freaking out. "It's just me, Steve, Y/n."
You kept crying and you gripped onto his forearms that are holding you. Steve and you stayed like this until you fell asleep. He wouldn't have stayed but you kept a tight hold onto his forearms and he doesn't have the heart to pull you off. Therefore, Steve ended up falling asleep after you with his cheek rested on top of your head.
