"Kentrell you seriously bout to have an attitude all day?" I asked as we pulled up to my momma's house
He was mad because I wanted to wear a skirt today and he swears that it's too tight.
"You still got that skirt on ain it?"
I smacked my lips and sat up straight while he put the car in park "I've worn this skirt hella times before and all of a sudden it's an issue?"
"You ain had no ass like that all the other times you wore that skirt"
"You saying I'm getting thick?" I asked with a smile, apparently pissing him off even more
"Noel don't fuckin play!"
"Kentrell why you so upset? It's only family here"
"You act like I give a fuck about that!"
I sighed and shook my head before looking at him again "but forreal though. My ass got fat forreal?"
He scowled at me then got out of the car, slamming the door behind him. I bursted out laughing while getting out knowing how serious he was right now over something so petty.
"Big ass crybaby" I mutter while making my way towards the house. The sound of talking next door caught my attention so I couldn't help but look.
It wasn't nobody but judah and his friends. He also had his son with Makayla playing on the porch and his four month old son with Jamie in his arm. He looked in my direction and licked his lips but I just kept it pushing because I don't have time for Kentrell when I'm already in trouble with him apparently.
Walking into my momma's house I was met with a bunch of commotion. Kentrell and I were obviously the last ones to show up because everybody else was here and I could smell the food in the kitchen.
"There my baby go!" My momma said with a smile as she walked over to me. I hugged her tight and once she pulled away, she looked at me
"What did you do to poor Kentrell?"
I immediately frowned up my face and looked confused
"Huh?"
"He came in with a mean look on his face"
"Ma. Kentrell always gotta mean look on his face. But besides, he'll be perfectly fine. He mad about a skirt"
She looked down at the skirt I was wearing and her eyebrow rose up "you getting awfully thick. You ain't gonna hit me with no surprises are you?"
"I leave the surprises to dana... speaking of, where is my baby?" I asked while looking around for kaleb. I immediately spotted him in kentrell's arm as he sat on the other side of the room beside Ben and Kd
"Have fun tryina take him from them boys" Elena told me as she walked pass, going into the kitchen
"They don't scare nobody" I said with a scoff and walked over to where they were sitting. Kentrell's smile immediately went away when he saw me walk over but I didn't care. I came over here for my nephew
"Hey aunties baby" I said to kaleb before leaning down to kiss his face and he reached up, grabbing mine
"Stop kissing on my son" Ben told me as he pushed my head and I mugged him
"Boy don't get beat on. You'll be the next person to catch these hands"
"Who the first?" Baby joe asked with a grin
"Damn sho ain talkin bout me" Kentrell mumbled making me roll my eyes. I stood up straight and twisted up my lip at him before walking off to the bedroom where I'm pretty sure liyah was.
"Noel!" Dana called out as I passed her room. I stopped and went into her room. She sat on the bed with her phone to her ear and she folded up Kaleb's things
"What?"
"Close my door for me"
I smacked my lips while she laughed. I closed the door and continued down the hallway to what is now liyah and Lena's room. Liyah was laid back on one bed with her phone in her face
"Y'all finally decided to show up after sleeping in all damn morning" she asked as I sat down on Lena's bed. Once she saw my skirt she sat all the way up "and he let you come out the house in THAT?"
"1. We slept in late cause I was tired and 2. He didn't want me to wear it that's why he round there in his feelings but he'll be perfectly fine. It's not my fault this skirt is so tight"
"That's that happy weight. Kentrell getting you thick up girl"
"And the fact that he's getting mad at me cause of something he's obviously doing is crazy"
"I need to get a nigga like that but the ones out here just as worse as the ones in Arizona"
"You gotta have patience with the boys out here. Kentrell has been testing my nerves since the day I first gave him my number" I told her with a laugh
"How did y'all even meet?"
"At school.."
"School?" Liyah repeated "You want me to believe that?"
I smacked my lips and laughed again "Forreal. He was always at the school every morning and afternoon. Me and Ben had history together and I asked Ben a simple question about him"
"Knowing him he probably ran his mouth to Kentrell"
"He did. Then after school Kentrell aske- well he technically didn't ask for my number. He was like 'gimme yo number' but I still gave it to him and he came over to the house that afternoon. Then we just went from there" I summed up with a shrug
"That was back when we were cool with that tired ass bitch and you used to tell us all about him. I thought Kentrell was one of them nice, cute, high school football players the way you used to talk about him until you came out for thanksgiving and he was blowing your shit up cause you swore you was single"
I made a face with a smirk "I was single. Whatchu mean?"
"Single my ass. Noel you ain't been single since you and Kentrell first started talking" Elena said as she walked into the room "by the way. Dinner is ready and everybody waiting on y'all"
"Well we didn't know until just now" Liyah mumbled as we both got up and exited the bedroom. Not only were we late to come eat but Dana obviously was too because she made her way out of her room ahead of us. We all went into the kitchen and sat at the large table, a new one my momma brought the other day. Everyone was seated, including Derek who must have just arrived and my momma wore the biggest smile on her face
"Bout time y'all came out. We ready to eat" baby joe complained and I rolled my eyes, taking the empty seat beside Kentrell. I slid my chair away from him a little and looked at him before looking away. We all started eating and carried multiple conversations but throughout the whole time Kentrell didn't say a word to me
"Noel.. Yb, wassup with y'all? Boomer asked and I shook my head
"I'm forever good. I'm not too sure about your friend over here"
Everybody looked at Kentrell and he slouched back in his seat with his eyes locked on me
"Don't play"
"Anyways.." I ignored him and looked at my momma "how are things with you and Derek?"
"Well.." she started off then looked at him before looking at us "me and my new fiancé are doing great"
"Fiancé!? Oh my gosh congratulations momma" I practically yelled, excited as if it was me that had gotten engaged
"Now she can officially move in with Derek and I can keep this house" Dana said as she patted Kaleb's back, relieved and Ben wore a smirk
"Now we can raise our family in peace"
"Boy-" Dana responded and everybody started laughing. I felt my chair being pulled so I looked at Kentrell with a stank face and he leaned into my ear
"Keep acting like I won't beat yo ass"
"Kentrell. Using that same threat on me over and over again ain't scaring me no more than it did the last time" I whispered back to him and he nodded
"Yeah Ight. We gone see later on when ain nobody around"
I shrugged my left shoulder and grabbed my cup of tea off of the table, sipping it
