"Aye, you hungry?" I asked Kaleb as he laid back on his pillow on the chair beside me while I played the game in the living room. He just looked around and sucked on his pacifier
"I guess that's a no then" I shrugged and went back to playing the game. The door opened and both Ben and baby joe walked in being loud as hell
"Where the food at? I'm hungry!" Ben yelled and I looked over at them before turning back to face the tv
"Aye, Shut the hell up before y'all make him cry"
"Dana let you keep the baby? I'm surprised" baby joe said with a chuckle and Ben shook his head
"She would've did better leaving him wimme"
"She should've since you wanna be his daddy so bad" I mumbled, still playing the game
"I am his daddy. Ain't that right son?" Ben asked Kaleb as if the boy was gonna respond back. He picked Kaleb up and sat back in the chair while I laughed, shaking my head

"Dana keep playing wimme while I'm tryina wife her"
"Nigga whatchu gone do for that grown ass girl?" I asked and he smirked
"I'll do a lot. She just need to stop actin like she don't want me"
"She ain't acting Ben..." baby joe bluntly told him "she don't"
Ben smacked his lips and muttered something
"Besides" I joined in, pausing the game "you think she gone fuck with somebody younger than her?"
"She only bout a year older than us" Ben shrugged and I shook my head
"Nigga Dana just turned 24"
Ben looked at me surprised as if this was his first time hearing me tell him her age but it wasn't. He just didn't wanna listen
"So. She still can take some 19 year old dick"
Baby joe and I both burst out laughing.
"She don't wantcho ugly ass"
Ben mugged me "Fuck you! At least my ugly ass get bitches though"
"Whatchu mean nigga" I asked as I resumed the game and started playing again "I used to get bitches too"
"Key word. Used to" baby joe added and they both laughed while I smacked my lips
"I can still get em now if I really wanted to but-"
"But you ain stupid" Baby joe finished for me "we all know Noel got you pussy whipped"
"Noel ain got me shit" I muttered
"Yes she do. Look atchu. Sitting at home on a Friday night on uncle duties being loyal.... when around this time last year you was fucking half of the school in the backseat of yo car"
I couldn't help but laugh at how baby joe said it then I shrugged
"Well I guess it only take the right person"
"I need to find my right person then" baby joe told me and looked at Ben "Ben ass need to find the right one too so he can slow down. The way he raw doggin these bitches he gone end up with some permanent shit"
"I do use protection. Y'all ain gone play me" Ben tried to defend himself but I made a face
"Yeah right. You say that now and next week you gone be at the clinic crying again cause yo dick burning"
"Fuck y'all!" He responded and we started laughing in his face again
Noel
"You all have a great night" I told a group of customers as they stood up from the table in my section to leave. The older woman that got up last smiled as she walked up to me and grabbed my hand
"You're such an amazing server. Keep up the great work sweetheart"
As she spoke I could feel her slip a bill into my hand and eventually she released her hand from mine
"Thank you and I will. Y'all have a great night and come back"
"We'll be back soon" she told me before walking off. Once she was gone I looked down at the bill and saw that she had given me a fifty. I quickly stuffed it into the pocket of my apron and then headed to the table to clean up their mess. While I picked up the dishes, stacking them on top of each other I dropped a fork and two knives
"Shit" I muttered while setting the rest of the stuff down to pick up the forks but another person grabbed them for me instead
"Here you go" the guy said as he placed the knives and fork in my hand
"Thanks"
"No problem" he responded, watching me as I gathered the stuff together yet again "so... how come I've never seen you around here before?"
"I'm not from here"
"Oh really. Where you from?"
"Can I ask why?" I asked him and he chuckled
"I'm just tryina make conversation with a pretty girl"
"Well as flattered as I am by the compliment, I don't think my boyfriend would like to hear another guy complimenting me, speaking to me or even breathing in my direction"
He threw his hands up "Well damn. My bad. I respect relationships"
I plastered a fake smile and walked off with the dishes to the kitchen. As soon as I opened the door, the sound of many different conversations filled the room.
"Noel, you working mighty hard girl" Hannah, another server, said with a laugh as she fixed her hair and grabbed her jacket. She was probably going outside on her hourly smoke break
"I got too. That's how you get good tips"
"I need to be like you. My tips ain't shit and my baby girl just hit me with the bill for her daycare. Shit costs more than my rent"
I shook my head "See that's why I can wait on the children thing"
"Please do. Wait as long as you can cause this is too much"
I laughed and sat the dishes in the bucket to be washed
"I think kaleb is the closest to a child Kentrell and I will get to right now. The only other option for him is to get a puppy"
"A puppy! That's even better"
We both laughed and David, our manager, walked into the kitchen
"Noel!"
I quickly looked in his direction and my heart started pounding. What in the hell did I do now?
"Yeah?"
"I need you to come with me real quick"
I looked at Hannah and she looked at me, pursing her lips together
"Have fun girl" she tapped my shoulder and I walked off with David towards the hall that contained the office
"You're not in trouble"
"Oh thank god. I almost thought I lost my job" I breathed and he chuckled
"Why would we fire you? You're our best server.. that's why I chose you to do something for me"
"Something like what?" I questioned as we stopped in front of the door of the office
"Okay. We have a new employee that needs somebody to shadow her around until she gets the hang of things and I believed that you're the right person for it"
"Me?"
"Yeah. Plus, you'll get paid for helping her"
I smile and nodded. Tonight must really be my night
"Oh okay. That sounds perfectly fine to me"
David smiled and slapped his hands together "Great! She starts next week but she had to come in today to finish up her paperwork so I might as well introduce you two to each other"
He opened the door and we both walked in. Almost immediately my smile dropped when I saw who I was going to be training and so did hers
"Noel, this is Jamie.. our new server"

"Boy oh boy" I sighed as I headed home, still thinking about the fact that I was going to be working with Jamie. I haven't seen this girl in months and before then, everybody knows me and her have bad blood. What a way to down a good day.
Once I finally reached the house I pulled into the driveway and sighed, seeing all of the cars letting me know that everybody was here.
"At least I got some good tips tonight" I mumbled, thinking that that's probably the only thing that went right for me today. I got out the car and headed into the house.
"NOELLLLLL BEST FRIEND!" I was immediately greeted by Ben, who was holding Kaleb. I would've thought he would've been gone by now, but that's when I saw Elena come around the corner from the kitchen
"Sister sister!" She smiled and walked over to me, scooping me into a hug
"Heyy Lena. Why you got these fools in here corrupting my nephew?"
"I was waiting on you to get here before we left cause I missed you all week"
"You do this every weekend" I told her with a laugh "where's liyah?"
"She stayed behind at school for some meeting for a club. She's leaving in the morning though"
I nodded and watched Kd as he walked into the living room with a plate of leftover food from last night
"You ain't waste no time to eat up our shit?"
"Nope" he responded before going to the chair and Elena shook her head
"He makes me sick. He's been acting like an asshole all day"
"Why?"
"Cause I told him he reminded me of a cute turtle"
As soon as she got it out I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"You know what, where's my boyfriend?"
"Takin a shit" baby joe told me and I frowned up my face as a room door opened. Kentrell made his way back into the living room with a grin on his face as he walked up to me
"That nigga happy now. He feel 10 pounds lighter" Ben joked and Kentrell laughed
"Shutcho stupid ass up. Ain nobody went to take no shit" he told Ben and focused back on me "How was work?"
"It started off good.."
"But.."
"Other than this boy tryina flirt with me I was ask-"
"See ima pop up at yo job one day. Every time you come home Issa new nigga flirting witchu" He cut me off and I rolled my eyes
"Can't blame my sister. She bad as fuck" Elena boosted me and Kentrell glared at her
"Shut up" he told her before looking at me again
"Anyways. So David asked me to basically watch over this new girl they just hired and I thought it wouldn't be a problem"
"So what's the problem?"
"The new girl is Jamie"
Kentrell's eyebrows immediately went up and Ben nearly choked, looking at me afterwards
"Jamie?"
"Yeah. As in your Jamie"
"That Ain my bitch. Fuck her" Ben responded and looked down at kaleb, who was just chilling in his arm "ain't that right son"
"You gone have my nephew thinking you his daddy forreal" I told him as I walked away from Kentrell and walked over to Ben, grabbing Kaleb
"Cause I could be if yo sister stop playin"
I rolled my eyes and smiled at kaleb and kissed his cheek "hey Auntie's baby"
"How come you kissin on him but not me?" Kentrell asked, obviously salty.
I swear whenever kaleb comes around it's like a competition with him and Kentrell because both of them are some babies that's always needing attention
"Come here you big ass baby" I told kentrell and kissed him
"I need more than that"
"Of course you do" I replied while making a face and laughed
"How about you hand me kaleb so we can head outta here" Elena told me as she walked over to me, grabbing him "Ima call you later"
"No you won't, I'm taking her phone. She mine for the night"
I exasperated and Elena shook her head
"No, she's yours every night. I got something to talk to her about"
"Talk tomorrow"
"You make me sick" Elena told him as she walked over to Kaleb's car seat and Kentrell grabbed my hand, pulling me down the hall to the bedroom. As soon as we got into the room I took my hair out of the ponytail it was in and reached into my bra, pulling out the tip money I earned tonight
"Your girl made 300 in tips tonight" I boasted and Kentrell chuckled
"You know how much I can make in a night?"
I frowned and pushed him upside the head but he caught my hand and pulled me into him, hugging my waist
"You're an asshole. You know that right?"
"I know. But I'm just playin, you know I'm proud of you"
"I know you are" I smiled while caressing his face, pecking his lips "but you know what would make ME proud?"
"What?"
"If you'd cook for a change. I'm hungry"
Kentrell smacked his lips "you just left a whole restaurant"
"I know. But when you're around that food all the time you get tired of eating it"
"Well it's some leftovers from last night" Kentrell shrugged and I made a face at him before slapping him upside the head again
"You ain't shit" I told him and he started laughing
