Chapter 23| All for a Better Future
—Your POV

"WHAT?!" They all screamed in unison.

The pain from my left eye was starting to kill me, even my head started throbbing. I dealt with many types of injuries before, but this was by far one of the worst, physically.

"If any of you cause a fucking commotion, I'll actually fucking kill you. No joke."

Everybody was quiet.

I didn't notice this before but, there was actually a pro hero here. He was already giving Izu a hand with his broken bones. While Shou tied Stain with a few yards of rope and was already dragging him.

The pain was distracting me from everything else, while the fucking blood just made this more dramatic than ever. But the bleeding was slowly stopping, which could be a good or bad sign.

"I'm sorry kids, I'm suppose to be a pro but I just ended up being useless." The pro sighed. Izu replies with a few words that I couldn't quite catch.

"Akari-Chan?"

"Hm?" Since I was walking behind all of them, I had to look up. I still had my left hand cover my bad eye.

"Do...you think you're actually going to be half blind?" He asked with hesitation.

"...I don't know. If I do, I know somebody that could give me a badass robotic eye. They work like a real one." I chuckled.

"Really? Are...are they just..like you?" Izu asked again, I fully knew what he meant. Was the person I was talking about also...a villain.

"Yeah...he's like my family. He's like that girl from the support department, except different motives. He's a great guy, love him to death." I sighed at the memories of them.

"He must have a really strong quirk for that."

"Quirk? Dude, he's quirk-"

Out of nowhere, Gran Torino jumps a gives Izu a kick to the face. He was definitely mad. He caught sight of my with my left hand on my eye with blood, his face went a bit pale.

A few other pros got to the scene, although they were too late. One of the taller man glared at me as he made his way over to us. I wasn't expecting anything, but at least something fucking friendly!

"The Hero Killer?! You kids took him down?!" The lady said.

There was some talking among the heros, but one of them, seemed to really hate me.

"You're behind this, aren't you, Zero?" He pointed at me, accusing me.

"He's right! She's the one who's behind all of this! She's working with the Hero Killer!" One of his colleagues agreed.

"What?! She saved us! If she wasn't here, Midoriya would be dead!" Iida defended.

I stayed quiet. I'm still a fucking villain in their eyes.

"Call an ambulance! Can't you see she's injured?" Gran Torino tried to changed the subject. He shook his head at their poor analyzing skills.

My left eye twitched, making me wince at the suddenly blot of pain that shot through my head. As a result, I started cursing every word I knew.

I payed little to zero attention to the talking, I focused on my surroundings. Because I fucking now, when you're at your weakest point, it's people's back turn. In this case, I was looking for Tenko and Kurogiri. And I spotted them, on top of a building.

"DUCK!!" I heard Gran Torino yell.

In a flash, a flying Nomu picked Izu off his feet and into the air. Of course, without one eye, my eye coordination was off, and I couldn't risk frying him. At least not now.

I saw Stain starting to open his eyes again, you gotta do what you gotta do, right? I stood beside him with my back facing him, using my right hand I grabbed my dagger from my pocket and handed it to him secretly.

Stain once told me, that only true heros should be heros.

"Sorry Stain-Kun, I wanna be a hero in this life." I whisper softly, as he used the knife to hack his way through. I heard him muttered a 'good luck' as he ruffled my hair before he went back to his 'villain mode'. Guess he has a soft spot for me.

Without villains, there won't be heros. Without heros, there would be chaos. Life is like a chain. You break one chain, the others fall.

—2nd Person POV

The Hero Killer Stain lunged forward to get the drip of blood spilling from one of the pro hero's cheeks before launching himself at the Nomu. With one quick motion, Stain used the dagger to pierce the creature's exposed brain and down the creature went, while Izu was rescued.

"The fakes that had overrun the city, and the criminals that sprinkle their 'power' so aimlessly. Those who fall under those words...are my victims." Stain said mysteriously.

"All...for the a better future. A just world." You muttered along with him, eyes closed, thankfully nobody heard you.

"He saved him...?" One hero started, there was a bunch of arguing between them, until Endeavor arrived on the scene.

"WHY ARE YOU ALL STANDING AROUND?! CAN'T YOU SEE THE HERO KILLER IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU?!" The man yelled, pointing his finger at the villain. You rolled your good eye at the man.

Endeavor immediately turned his attention to the villain, already in a fighting stance. While poor Izu was still under Stain's hand, terrified. You knew well that Stain wouldn't hurt Izu, so you were somewhat more relaxed he was safe.

"HERO KILLER!!"

"WAIT, TODOROKI!!" Gran Torino extended a arm as a sign to wait.

The rag that tied around Stain's eye peeled off like a old bandage. His looks alone was already terrifying enough, add in a menacing voice was enough to send anybody running the opposite direction.

"Another fake," Everybody was shaking from fear from Stain's voice alone. Except you, you stood there not affected with one hand to your eye.

"All fakes need to be rectified...Someone must stain their self's with their own blood. The word... 'hero' needs to be rewritten..restored!" The villain took a step closer to the number two hero.

"Just try, pretenders. The only hero who's allowed to kill me is All Might himself!" Stain's aura completely took a 360 turn, his aura became terrifying, so terrifying the pro heros and Izu, Iida and even Shou dropped down.

You weren't afraid, only about two years ago, you faced people like this all the time. One thing you learned from that place is fear. Fear can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Conquer it, it'll be on your side. Fear it, you'll crumble.

"No matter what, act with confidence.Yuki said.

The villain looked off, his eye had rolled back. The Hero Killer lost consciousness.

"H-Huh?" Shou was terrified and confused.

"All for a better future." You mumbled with a small, sad smile. You extended a hand to Shou who was sitting on the ground, he took it as support to get up.

"I swear, you can run, but you can't hide from your past. Akari." The voice came out of nowhere, everybody looked around, scanning the area for anybody.

You knew what the voice meant, sooner or later, your past would be out to get you. Soon, you'll end up where you were two years ago.

Alone. On the run. And a villain.

—Next Morning: Hosu General Hospital

You woke up on a Hospital bed and in a room that was separated from the boys'. While trying to sit up, the doctor came in to check on you.

Her dirty blonde hair was tied back in a ponytail, while her weak blue eyes kept her gaze at you.

"Looks like your eye is healing pretty quick. It's quite the miracle that you will still be able to see after such a accident. From your speed of healing, it'll only take a little over a week to be fully recovered." She explained, making some hand motions to help you understand.

"Thanks, doc. But when will I be able to remove the bandaid on the eye?" You asked, while the woman wrote down something on a clipboard hanging above your head.

"During the entire recovery process, we'll prescribe a special type of medication to help with the process. It's going to be need to be applied once a day, before you go to bed. Alright...tomorrow come back for a check up and then you're good to go!" The doctor replied excitedly.

You thanked her again before asking her where your friends' room was.

"The room after the one on your right."

Just like that, you made your way to the room where you would be your friends. As much as you wanted, you really wanted to take that bandage off but you couldn't risk losing your left eye forever. That frustrated you.

You were already in front of the door, you could already hear them talking among themselves. Iida's manners, using words like 'I suggest' and 'please'. Izu's once in a while stutter. Shou's somehow more lively voice. You reached for the handle and opened it.

"Hey, looks like everybody is feeling better." You smiled.

"Akari-Chan! Shouldn't you still be recovering? Uh...you can sit on my bed!" Immediately, the green haired boy started to panic. You mentally laughed.

"You seem fine without that eye." Shou bluntly said, with a tiny smile.

"Yep, my eye coordination is a tad off though, so I shouldn't be throwing knifes at people's heads." You joked, taking up Izu's offer and sitting beside him.

"I apologize, if it wasn't for me, none of you wouldn't have gotten hurt. And you wouldn't be half blind." Iida suddenly said in a sad tone. He referred to a few cuts on your arms and left eye.

You stared at the blue haired boy with widen (E/C) eyes for a few seconds before bursting with laughter.

"Pfffft! The doctor said this is only fucking temporary." You pointed to your left eye with a bright smile. Then, pulled up your sleeves to reveal scared and burnt arms that did not have bandages on them. "Those were nothing compared to these bad boys. So fucking relax dude."

"It's all for a better future." You gave them the peace sign with a smirk.

Classic, classic you. You seemed to opened up to your friends and classmate more. You had jumped over one puddle, but the question is, how big and where would the next one be?
