Lucas's P.O.V~
When we got to the school it was packed, full of girls in dresses and boys in suits. We all piled out of the car and split into smaller groups. Around twenty minutes after the ceremony ended and the party began, Asher left for the bathroom, kissing me on the head and telling me he would be right back, which left me standing by myself.
I was watching people as they talked and danced in groups, laughing and enjoying themselves. That was until I heard the voice of someone that made my blood run cold and my body freeze. Jason Reynolds, my personal tormentor for the past four years of my high school life.
"Hey fag, where are your misfit friends?" He said, sticking his hands in his pockets and smirking at me while Tyler Whitluck and Carlos Valdez stood snickering beside him like that was the funniest thing in the world
"Leave me alone, Jason" I said, turning my head to the side so I could ignore him
"Don't talk back to me, you useless bitch!" He said, and landed a mean right hook to my face, making my head turn to the side
"Hey fatass!" I was shocked still and slowly looked up to see Chris storming towards us. The room was silenced. Chris Walker barely spoke, nevermind yelled or swore.
We had the attention of the entire room, everyone watching to see what would happen next. Chris came up next to us and half stepped between me and the three guys.
"What the hell do you want?" Jason said, looking mad that Chris had interrupted us, but Chris was popular amongst the people, so he didn't do anything besides glare
"Leave him alone" Chris said, practically fuming. My eyes widened and I held my cheek as I looked up at him in surprise
"Why should I? The stupid worthless fag would be better off dead. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it!" Jason said stepping closer. Chris mimicked him
"Leave my brother alone, Jason. He's worth more than you'll ever be" Chris growled. Jason looked shocked
"Brother? You're related to that piece of shit?" Jason said. Ophelia and Killian stormed over to us, and I looked on in shock as Lassandra and Damien joined us
"What the fuck is going on?" I muttered confused as hell
"Oh great the whole family's here" Jason said
Suddenly Stephen, Jessica, and Cassidy showed up, scowling at their children
"What in the hell are you guys doing?" Stephen scolded quietly, though in the silence everyone could hear it
"Sticking up for my brother" Chris said
"Our brother" Lassandra corrected
"Why would you admit that in front of all these people? We have a reputation to uphold!" Jessica practically shrieked
There was a protective hand on my shoulder and I looked up to see Asher with a very prominent glare on his face
"Your reputation, Mrs. Walker, is sinking further and further by the minute" Asher said, silencing everyone yet again. Jessica and Stephen paled as everyone looked over to Asher
"Asher!" Cassidy beamed and started towards him with her arms open and her lips puckered. Asher made a disgusted face and put his arm out, pushing her back as she came closer to us
"Don't touch me, filth" Asher said
Cassidy looked up glaring and blushing from her spot on the floor
"Now, do we have a problem here?" Asher looked around glaring at the group of people, and I heard murmurs from the crowd saying things like "Oh my god it's Asher Green" "What's he doing here" and "Why is he protecting him"
"Yeah, this little shi-" Jason started
"If you even think about finishing that sentence and insulting my boyfriend I will ruin you and any chance you have at a life" Asher spat and turned me around, picking me up like a child and holding me protectively to him
Everyone looked even more shook, and I had a pretty good guess as to what they were all thinking.
"B-boyfriend?" Jason stuttered in shock
"Guy's let's go!" Asher's voice rang out amongst the crowd and soon Logan, Lacey, Margot, Sam, Jake, and Thea all showed up beside us. My other friends were all heading back to Alek's later so they weren't gonna join us
"We're coming with" Lassandra said grabbing Damien's wrist and dragging him behind us as we went out to the limousine. Ophelia, Killian, and Chris followed close behind us.
As we all piled into the limousine Asher made me straddle his lap and I turned to face the open divider Emmett sat behind
"Hey Emmett!" I smiled brightly at him and he returned it
"Hello Master Lucas" Emmett said
"Emmett" I groaned
"Sorry, Lucas" Emmett corrected himself
"Where to Master Asher?" Emmett wondered starting the car
"My house" Asher replied, and Emmett nodded then put up the divider and we were off
Asher instantly had his hands on the side of my face, turning my head slightly to glare at my already bruised cheek
"I'm really sorry, I never should have left you" Asher said
"You went to the bathroom. I don't fault you for having to pee" I rolled my eyes
"Then I should have called over one of those idiots. They might not be good for much but at least they could have scared off those bastards" Asher said gently running his hand over my bruise
"I would beat you over the head with my heels if my precious son wasn't on your lap" Lacey glared at him
"Since when was he your son?" Asher rolled eyes
"Don't question me young man!" Lacey said
"Who were those guys anyways?" Margot wondered
"Jason, Tyler, and Carlos. They've been bullying me for four years" I said shrugging
"I should have killed them" Logan said, and Sam and Jake murmured agreements
"You're okay?" Asher asked looking back at me with concern
"Yes love, I'm fine" I said
"Good" He pecked the tip of my nose and I giggled
"Since when were you like this?" I heard Ophelia speak up and turned around in Asher's lap to face my siblings as the rest of them looked at her, too
"What do you mean?" Thea wondered
"I mean since when were you all cute and innocent? You've never been like this before" Ophelia said crossing her arms
"He's always been like this. He's small, and fragile, and always smiles no matter how rude you are to him" Lassandra said, glaring accusingly at my three youngest siblings. Ophelia blushed
"No he hasn't. He's always been a pain in the ass, being mean to Mom and Cassidy and doing everything in his power to bring shame to this family" Killian said defiantly
"That is so not true! Dad hates Lucas because my mother left once he was born, and his looks remind him of her. Even so, when Jessica and Cassidy came to the house he was the sweetest of all of us, but Jessica instantly hated him and so did Cassidy. I don't know why you think he's so terrible, but Lucas has never been anything but kind and forgiving, even to those who don't deserve it" Damien scowled
I shrunk back into Asher, hating that I was causing a fight between my siblings
"Guys, please stop fighting. It really doesn't matter!" I said. My siblings looked at me and I smiled, trying to lighten the mood
"I believe Damien. I was there when mom last kicked him out of the house, and I heard what she said. The venom in her voice and the beating she was giving was not just simply her not liking him, it was jealousy and pure hatred. I couldn't believe she was beating him. How long has she been doing that?" Chris wondered
I was surprised he had seen that and tensed
"Y-you saw that? Oh god" I said, hating that he had seen that. Over the years Stephen and Jessica had always been careful to make sure no one was around and I was always careful not to let them see
"Beats you? How long has that been going on?" Damien said, visibly shaking
"A long, long time. I'd say 8 was when he first started? Before that it was just insults and extra chores" I said quietly, shaking myself
Asher tightened his hold around me
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry Lucas! Mom and Dad always said you kept disappointing the family, and were always mean to Mom and Cassidy. I always thought you were mean and manipulative. I was so proud I wasn't falling for your tricks, but it seems I was only being tricked myself. Please forgive me" Ophelia cried, grabbing my hands in hers as tears came to her eyes. My eyes widened and tears stung my nose
"It's okay Ophelia. I know how Jessica and Stephen are. I know dad hates me because I made mom leave, and I think Jessica hates me because I've caught her on multiple different occasions screwing different guys, and if I told anyone I could end her marriage and then she wouldn't be rich" I said
"What? Mom's cheating?" Killian chimed. My eyes widened and I clapped a hand over my mouth
"Shit" I said "U-uhm... Yeah, she's been doing it for years" I said sighing, deciding it was too late to go back now
"Oh my god" Chris said
