i jump up at the sound of my alarm
"wtf why is it 8:30 am"
i quickly jump out of my bed and rush into the bathroom, after brushing my hair and teeth in the matter of only a couple minutes i run into my closet grabbing a pair of plain black leggings and a hoodie and quickly change into them and run downstairs
"kenzie, i thought you would be on your way to school already"
my mum says surprisingly drinking her coffee and reading a magazine
"same"
i blurt out running out the door running straight to lauren's house
"what are you doing here"
johnny's says getting into his car
"where's lauren"
i say ignoring his question
"she had a morning shift and was driving
straight to school after that"
he answers after putting the window down so we could continue our conversation
"ughhh seriously"

he asks confusingly
"she normally drives me to school, you really
don't pay attention do you"
"your right, so you need a ride to school"
he asks
"well clearly"
i snap back
"not with that additude"
he says putting the window back up
"come on johnny, i need to go to school"
i plead

he says without a struggle

i laugh rolling my eyes about to hop in his car
"only if you say that im your favourite orlando
and the hottest guy that goes to our school"
he interrupts

"well no ride for you then"
he says turning on the engine

i cringe saying that but i need to get to school and johnnys the only one that can drive me at the moment

he says reaching over to open the passenger
seat door for me

the drive was quite which was good because johnny always seems to make things more awkward so i'm glad we avoided that
"your welcome"
johnny says referring to him giving me a ride
to school
"thanks"
i sarcastically respond
we walk into school together me following close behind him and hayden immediately comes running over to us

johnny asks confusingly
"nadia's what's up"
hayden says trying to catch his breath after running up to us
"what did she do"
i hear the tone of johnnys voice change and become a bit deeper, i could feel the anger start growing inside him and now was waiting to see what the annoying girl had done
hayden pulls out his phone and pulls up a picture of nadia and carson, johnny other best friend making out over at the bleachers
"when was this"
johnny asks with a straight calm looking face, but hayden and i could see how angry he was even if he wasn't showing it
"like 5 minutes ago"
hayden answers
"hey johnny, hey hayden"
i turn around and see carson walking towards us, i was unsure whether he had known that people had seen nadia and him making out before but he seemed fine so i don't think he knew
i look up at johnny who was now standing behind me next to hayden, his jaw was clenched as well as his fists, i wasn't excited to see how this situation would go
hayden then pulls johnny and i away from carson, not wanting this to take a turn for the worst
"what's up"
carson laughs noticing johnnys clenched jaw
"what's up?"
johnny spits mocking him
"you were making out with my girlfriend, that's what's up"
he adds breaking out of hayden's grip to walk closer to carson
"oh"
carson says unsure of what to say next
"is that all you have to say"
johnny continues to walk closer to carson who was now getting more tense
"why are you bringing this up now you've known about this for ages"
carson says and i immediately tense up with him as i know that johnny had know idea about this

johnny simply asks
"you've known about this johnny"
carson says unsure of if john had actually known
"i've known about this?"
johnny asks walking closer and closer to carson as a group starts to form around the 2 boys
"nadia said you knew"
"why the fuck would i know about this carson, don't you think that if i knew about this i would've broken up with her"
johnny says slightly yelling at this point
"how long has this been happening for"
johnny asks
"a year"
carson quietly says
"what the fuck"
i see the anger boil over from johnny as he pushes carson causing him to stumble
"you were my best friend, and the whole time you were fucking my girlfriend"
he yells continuing to push the blonde boy
"it's not my fucking fault, there clearly something wrong with you if nadia decided to do this"
carson says immediately regretting say that
that's when the first punch was made as johnny punches carson hitting his jaw, the fight dramatically continues as the 2 boys were now throwing punches at each other, hayden try's pulling johnny away from carson as i feel someone pulling me away from the fight
"omg kenz are you ok, what's happening"
lauren says hugging me with a scared tone to her voice as she notices her brother involved in the fight
"ye-yeah, i'm all good"
"nadia was cheating on johnny with carson i think, i'm not sure"
i add to answer her question
the fight ends soon after as hayden successfully pulls johnny away from carson and the group, johnny without hesitation then runs out of the school with hayden slowly behind him
"it's ok he'll be fine"
lauren says as she sees that he isn't badly hurt, but on the other hand carson is on the floor struggling to stand up, soon we then see nadia run over to carson
"what the fuck nadia"
lauren says to the girl who was now comforting carson
"what"
the girl has an annoyed tone to her voice as she avoids eye contact with the both of us
"you cheated on my brother"
"he did the same thing to me"
nadia says helping carson up
"he never cheated on you nadia, you were just a jealous bitch and every time me would talk to a girl you would count it as cheating"
"say that to the time he slept with sophia"
"you weren't even together when that happened, you broke up with him don't you remember"
lauren says laughing but i can see how much this situation is affecting her
"I don't care he still hurt me"
she says defending herself
"what, do you think johnny dated you for fun,
of course he's going to be hurt as well, he's not going to forget about the past year that you've been together"
lauren says starting to tear up
"lauren just fuck off it's none of your business"
she says irritated holing carson up by his waist
"you think that this is none of my business, we're talking about my brother and my best- ex best friend here"
lauren stutters remembering that the 2 aren't friends anymore
"lauren we were never friends just forget about it"
nadia try's walking away from the situation but lauren stands her group
"yeah sure i'll just forget about the 4 years that we supposedly weren't friends"
i turn to hug lauren who is now crying
"bye nadia"
lauren says grabbing my arm and pulling
me out of the school

Later that night
at the orlandos house
3:27 am
"lauren are you awake"
i say slowly getting off lauren's bed trying
not to wake her
lauren asked me to stay with her because she was quite sad about what had happened earlier in the day
i make my way to the bathroom which is located on the other side of the second floor just past johnnys room, as i tip toe past his room but hear a sound coming from his room
i peep my head through the gap in the door to see if he's still awake
"johnny"
i whisper seeing his face being lit up by his phone screen, johnny jumps up from his bed
"shit kenzie you scared me"
he says getting back into his bed
"sorry aha"
i awkwardly laugh standing in his doorway
"you can come in"
he says gesturing me over to his bed
"are you ok"
i say sitting down next to him
i wouldnt usually be this nice to him but he
just found out his girlfriend cheated on him so
i guess i have to be the bigger person here
"nadia was my first real girlfriend I know it didn't
seem like it but"
he stops talking and puts his head down
"i think i loved her"
i could see the idea of him being open and vulnerable made him uncomfortable as he was avoiding me seeing his tears run down his face, without thinking i wrap my arms around his neck and pull him into a hug, johnny hesitates for a second before wrapping his arms around my waist and nuzzles his head into my neck
"i'm sorry johnny"
for once in my life I actually felt bad for him
after staying like this for around 3 more minutes johnny removed his arms from my waist and begins to talk
"hey kenzie"
he say wiping his face
"yes"
"could you help me with something"
johnny has his face down avoiding eye contact again
"depends on what it is"
i say confusingly, what else does he need help with
"will you be my"
he stops talking
"your what"
my heart rate rises as i hear that sentence wondering what the next words will be
"my girlfriend"
he quickly blurts out looking back up at me
