While Azure sat in the back seat of a motionless Nicholas' car, the scenes of a few minutes ago played over and over again in her head as the hit on her head throbbed. She was vaguely conscious of the fact that Natalia was hysterically sobbing, or of Elisa comforting her. For all she knew, none of them could understand the feelings that filled her, none of them saw the things she saw in there, none of them could really empathize with her and say the words she desperately wanted to hear, 'I understand what your going through and I'm sorry you had to go through that'.
She could clearly remember clearly the events of those minutes which felt like hours. She felt like it was happening all over again, she could feel herself shaking.
FEW MINUTES AGO
"Why the fuck did you shoot at me, I thought we were supposed to play it nice!" She moaned childishly, surprising all of them, as she stumped her feet on the floor. She paid no attention to the now bleeding arm or to the gun by the floor. "Fine, we'll have some rules set. Now, not unless we all want to die, you're going to wait for your turn to be killed. Either ways you die, but don't you have some humanity left to pardon an elderly woman like myself?" She pouted as she spoke.
"Woman you say? You're not even a person! You go about binding souls to yours just so that you feel loved, you rip a woman's heart out in front of her husband, you shoot your own lover, you're crazy!!! Surely you must have figured that out already." Grey's lips lost their filters.
Everyone had noticed the change of emotions in St. Louis and were all suddenly nervous for none knew what the woman's next actions would be. She was extremely unpredictable.
Since Bryan and the other men were already in front of her with their guns pointing at Grey and his friends, She didn't need to say anything further.
Grey noticed that there was about to be a dangerous gun battle here and quickly threw a kick at the chair Azure was sitting on, causing the chair to move backwards and change the direction of all the men over to her, giving each of them time to quickly take cover.
It was all like a blur to Azure, occasional shots here and there, some screams and groans were heard, some pools of blood had been formed and visible to her. Unable to take it anymore, she shut her eyes tightly, for all she knew, she was out in the open and anyone could shoot at her.
This was until she felt someone grab her chair from the corner it had been pushed into and drag her behind a thick table. Her eyes flew open, hoping to see one of her friends but, her hope was rather killed when she saw St. Louis by her side pressing a finger to her lips to indicate she kept shut and not give her any troubles.
She knew better than to do the opposite of what St. Louis wanted plus, she took cognizance of the little remote in her hand. As undeveloped as her brain was, she could tell that it was a remote for a bomb.
"Talk and we all die." She whispered. "Natalia is still out there on the floor, those people who desperately want to save your pathetic ass are out there as well, there are over 50 innocent people on the floor and I know you're smarter than to let all those people die on your behalf. You're not worth it."
Azure nodded frantically and let the threatening tears drop down. "Good girl, now I'll untie you and you'll come with me slowly, no tricks or we all die."
Azure nodded again.
When St. Louis saw that there were only a few men standing and there were no more shots, she stood up in all her glory with Azure right by her side.
"Time out!!" Victoria yelled as all the movements stopped and all gazes turned to her. "This shit is getting boring and there's no way I'm watching any more of it. I'm going to walk out of here and if anyone of you should as much as try to stop me," She rose the little remote. "We all going down."
Azure let her eyes search the entire room, she saw a lot of dead people on the floor, some of the sleeping disciples were no longer going to ever wake, they were collateral damage. She was quick to see that Natalia was no longer at the spot she was when she left her, neither was Dante. Davis had blood dripping his left sleeve, but she could see that it didn't stop him from kicking ass. Fishwill and Lucas were barely breaking a sweat and Trevor was no where to be found. He must've snuck Natalia out during the fight.
Grey, Her Grey. He was looking so shocked. She was afraid with how wide his eyes were they would pop out. She giggled out loud when she remembered a cartoon where the character's eyes popped out in shock.
Now everyone's attention was at her. She seemed to have remembered the situation she was in because in a few seconds, she could feel the fear creep into her again.
"Psycho." She heard one of Victoria's men say to her. That one got a tooth flying across the room by Fishwill who was only a few inches from him.
Azure's ever observant eyes were the only ones that saw that Victoria had accidentally pressed the button but nothing happened. Azure couldn't help the laughter that rolled from her.
"Are you okay my love?" This was Grey speaking to her.
"I'm perfect Nick. Better than just okay."
Azure decided to play it cool with Victoria, she said she was going to be the one to kill the bitch and she was going to see to it. "We'll be going out for a while okay, you guys wrap things up here. We need to get home quickly, I'm very hungry." Azure knew she was talking crazy, she knew that for the very first time, Grey did think she was crazy, that she had lost grip of her sanity. It showed in his eyes, the fear of losing her to her own mind.
Victoria was just as confused as everyone else, but she managed to mask her confusion and grabbed Azure tightly by her hair. "Okay then bitch, let's leave the men to themselves and take our humble leave."
Azure yelped as she felt the extreme harsh tug on her hair. She knew some of her hair had pulled out.
Once the two women exited the building, Grey finally searched for their survival chances if he left to go and look for Azure. It was slim to none, it seemed like the more they fought, the more men showed up from that room.
He could only believe one thing now, his Azure was smart. She would find a way out of it.
OUTSIDE:
Azure ignored the growing pain on her head as she turned and bit hard on Victoria's arm making sure to draw blood. It was the shock Victoria felt that made her let go of Azure. Victoria was confused, why the hell was Azure showing so much confidence when it was clear that she still had the upper hand. Had Azure finally let go of her sanity, is that why she wasn't afraid to die or to see her friends get blown up?
"You bit me so hard there's blood. Are you really crazy now? Let's end this bullshit. You must think that I would hesitate before blowing them up." Victoria rose the remote up, her finger teasingly touching the button.
Azure had a mischievous smile on her pretty face, her displaced red hair and bloodied lips from the bite made it all the more evil looking. "Go ahead, blow it all up Mrs Victoria St. Louis."
"What?"
"Jerry! Don't you recall him? You married him when you were only a preteen and need I remind you that you killed him? When I do my research, I don't miss out any details. You told everyone that he ran away and if that's really the case, then aren't you still a Mrs.? You've been sick from birth."
"One more rubbish from that filthy mouth and all of them are going down."
"One more lie from that filthy trap and I'll blow your brains."
It was at this point that Victoria finally understood that Azure had caught on to the fact that the remote was fake. For the first time in a long time, she let the fear seep through her stoic face as the remote dropped on the floor.
While Azure looked at Victoria with the same smile, Victoria studied the environment well. She wasn't amazing when it came to fighting and she knew well enough that Azure had been taking defense lessons. She could manage time to run away with a heads start if she could slow Azure down in some way, she already realized that with the amount of adrenaline shooting through Azure, it would only be in a heartbeat before Azure killed her. She couldn't deny it, she was afraid of this woman in front of her.
She could manipulate the situation, she was smart and Azure wasn't. Azure would attack with the intent to kill her, she would attack to weaken her and flee for safety.
As Azure lunged for Victoria with her bare hands, Victoria was quick to pick a large stone and throw it on Azure's head and without bothering to see where it hit her, she ran away. The girl was on the floor but Victoria knew that she wouldn't be for long.
Azure was mad, she had lost her sanity to the devil and she didn't mind death, she just wanted Victoria to go with her. Victoria knew if she stayed to make sure Azure died, she would probably get caught by one of her friends who was probably already done with the fight inside.
As she ran, she tripped on a body and fell down . However she quickly rose back to her feet. Looking down, the person she saw reminded her of the truth.
It's a survival of the fittest, you've got to survive today to fight another day. Everyone wants to live through a fight to tell the story another day. In a battle, there are no friends and no enemies.... just the weak and the strong. I must be a part of the strong, stronger than others, rising to be the strongest.
