Hey guys in thanks for this..
I'm going to do a little 'what if y/n didn't die' chapter, just for you all being amazing and boosting this book like this. I'm so grateful to see this and I can't even comprehend how much this book has come along.
But first a little look back...
I remember when I first started writing this I was just sat thinking 'ah there's no possible way that anyone is going to actually read this' and 'I'm just writing for an empty audience'
Then people started reading I guess, but I remember finishing the story with around 100 or 200 views and one or two votes and now I look at it to see it boosting at an amazing 9k and I feel like I should return the favour.
Here is the special chapter for you all to enjoy!!

3rd Person
Legolas couldn't understand what happened, next to him was the elf her loved. Dead. Not breathing. Not moving. Not making jokes or pushing people away. He couldn't help but to reach out for her, pulling her into his arms and crying into her blood and dirt stained shirt.

"You can't leave me," he croaked through his choking tears, "please don't leave me."

Moments passed and he moved away to the lords and old wizard who all looked like half their hearts were ripped straight from their chests.
But during those few moments, something happened, something like a miracle.

Y/n's hair has started to return to her natural h/t h/c, the paleness in her skin started to loosen and change and the lingering warmth of her friend spread throughout her body.

She sat up.

Gasps filled the air as y/n yawns and stretches as if she'd just woken up from a deep sleep.

Y/n's PoV

I remember the darkness, I guess I've just gotten used to it by now. But when i look around this darkness, it's just empty. There's nothing here. As if I died. Did I die? I can't really remember.

I've just learned to curl up and float around in this darkness of mine. There's never been any light or any warmth, only a chilling and inescapable shadow that's constantly looming over me- I guess it's my magic.

As I move I realise there's something else, like the lingering touch or warmth of something important to me.

I look up curiously. Somewhere a bit further away, there's a small light that seems to be moving closer to me.
It was a person, I couldn't see their appearance (or I couldn't recognise it) but I could see their mouth moving slightly.

"Pardon?" I asked, my voice sounded foreign to me, never had I heard such a broken and exhausted sound escape my own lips. The smiled and stretched their hand out to me. Upon inspection, I noticed it wasn't the hand of friend or foe, someone who had just been watching. Someone important.

I took their hand and they pulled me up from my curled up mess. Then their mouth moved again, but this times the sounds flowed in perfect harmony out to my ears.

"Young elf, you should not have died. It is not your time. So out of goodwill, we have decided to give you another chance at life. But this time, live fully and take risks. Trust people and don't turn to the darkness again. Keep a beacon in your life."

'Beacon' do they mean Legolas? I blushed at the slight thought of that.
Before they walked away, the person kissed me on my forehead and a blinding light escaped them. The light engulfed the dark and I watched as they faded into the light and as all the unusual aspects of my body disappeared and my old self returned. The one I recognised to have been me before I had learned to embrace the dark magic within me. It was like I had been purified, all that darkness was washed away and replaced with flows of pure light.

Then I felt myself staring up at the backs of my eye lids, people were arguing and the sun was hot against my skin. I could feel the remains of tears on my cheeks and in the cracks of my eyes. My back was aching, like I'd been lying on the floor for a while, or I had casted a really strong and energy draining spell.

I got bored of the strange splodges of red and black floating around my vision and opened my eyes. The sun light threatened my eyes causing me to wince and blink myself used to the light quickly. When I was used to it, I sat up and looked around. Feeling an exhausted yawn building up, I stretched my arms and yawned quickly before standing up and dusting myself down and smiling at the people around me.

"Hello!" I exclaimed, their faces were drowned in shock, exhaustion and confusion. I knocked my head to the side in confusion.

"Did something happen?" I asked, as soon as I took a step forward my vision was clouded again as the moments previously all replayed.

"Oh my- I really died didn't I?" I asked them, I could feel a burning anger rising as they all hesitated but nodded.

"but how're you alive?" Mirulan asked, his mouth basically hanging off his face.

"Someone gave me a second chance," I replied bluntly, looking up at the sky, "I wonder who.."

"I don't care," Legolas said quickly, grabbing my arm and pulling me into a tight hug. Afraid that he was going to loose me. I hugged him back but then tapped his back a couple times.
"cutting air circulation," I whispered. He quickly loosened the hug and hid his head in my hair (which must've been difficult because I was abnormally small for an elf).

We stood like that for a few moments before the two Lords grabbed me and pulled me into a quick group hug before lecturing me on self control and self sacrifice.

"Now what do you say?" Elrond asked me. I sighed.

"I am incredibly sorry and I will not do it again," I replied, my tone slow and insincere.

"Hm..alright," he mumbled before smiling, "welcome back."

We returned to the Rotml's streets. The king and Queen approached us, myself and Karla kept a distance as they both checked their children for wounds and pains. They came towards us and I just shook my head and walked away.

"trust people," those words echoed through my head again as I stood beside Gandalf. He squeezed my shoulder in a comforting way before tapping his staff on the ground.

"i must be going," he starts, his voice gathering everyone's attention, "there are a few little trouble makers waiting for me in a certain little field."

"stay safe gandalf," I smile to him, he nods and then blows a high whistle, the sound of hooves clattering against the stone floors followed soon after. A horse appeared and then gandalf left quickly on its back.

Then it was silent, a bit awkward for my liking.

"so... " I mumbled, swinging on my heels, "that was.. Uh.. One hell of a battle, huh?"

Everyone who knew about what happened just looked at me in disbelief. I smiled at them awkwardly and then caught the eye of the two royals, they looked like they wanted to say something.

"just ask what you want," I sighed. They both looked at each other and then nodded.

"what happened to you, your hair is different and there is a completely different presence to your magic?" the king asked.

"it's a long story, basically to shorten it, I died, got purified and then followed the light to my beacon," I said looking towards Legolas for a brief moment and returning my gaze to the two of them. They looked at me in horror.

"but it's OK! Because she's alive again!" Samuli quickly piped in. Everyone nodded in agreement and I just shrunk away.

"where are you going?" Vanes asked me. I looked to her to see she had followed me down the streets.
"uh... I guess I was going home?" I shrugged.

"What about them?" she asked poking a finger in the direction of my friends.
"I don't know... I know that Legolas, Thranduil and Elrond will know where to find me. But I just want to get away from here," I grumbled before starting to walk again, she grabbed my wrist and stopped me from moving.

"stay for a while, get to know us and our parents. Then you can leave," she exclaimed, suggesting I stayed was crazy. How could I stay here? Its not my home and its not the place I feel most comfortable in.

"but why?" I asked, looking at her sad eyes.

"because I want to know my sister and I want a full family again," she replied, her voice was barely above an emotional whisper.

"fine," I say bluntly, she smiled and lead me back towards the centre and joined the group again.

We returned to the castle and got washed and changed into cleaner and tidier clothes.

I was given a simple hunters outfit and this time I was allowed to keep my weapons this time.

"M'lady," one of the helpers entered my room after knocking the door lightly. I hummed in response.

"dinner has been served, everyone is waiting for you," she tells me before bowing and then leaving. Following after her, I noticed the building was covered in ancient markings and images that told stories of different things. The walls were like that until we reached the main corridor that lead us to the dining room, everyone was sat in a deathly silence until I entered. On the table were all kinds of fruits but nothing basic like apples or pears. There were even some stuff I didn't recognise.

"yeah I'm not eating either," legolas whispered to me as I sat down and just drank the water that was layed out for me.

"it's strange food," I replied, he nodded and we all sat and listened to the conversation that took place.

-- two weeks later (you and your siblings have become quite close, especially you and Samuli. He seems similar and more toleratable than the others) --

Myself and legolas mounted our horses and got ready to depart.
"will you message us?" Samuli asked, curiosity was very evident in his eyes.
"of course, now, send the letters to the place you left me at," I told them before saying goodbye and riding along side Legolas towards Mirkwood.

I explained that I would be returning to the cottage in the neutral zones, to purify it and then to live in it once again. Thranduil didn't look surprised, more like he was happy that I was taking steps to a more elf like neutrality.

"you've grown up," he smiled, I shook my head.

"no no, I just want to live in a place I'm so familiar with," I replied, sticking my tongue out at him before returning to sitting on my horse.
"don't forget to write!" I call to the two elves as I rode out of the city and started my journey home.

The hills were rocky and a wretched storm rolled in quickly, I found myself riding through the easiest, hiding out in the trees for the worst of it and then riding the water drowned mountains until I finally reached the recognisable hut in the middle of the scorched woods.

The hut had been ruined, windows had been shattered and the wooden beams were rotting away. The plants I'd left were trampled and withered.
There were markings and deep gashes from creatures that had passed through here.

"Maime i kal guide i waime (may the light guide the way)" I mumbled, raising my hands and watching as whisps of bright yellowish white light flowed from my fingers and surrounded the trees and surrounding areas. They lost the dark and returned to the same flow that I had seen them in when I was younger.

The grass flowed a lushus green, flowers of all different kinds of colours and spicies all sprouted from the grass, some strethhing up a bit higher than others. The trees regained their natural colours and stood tall and alive with pure strength.
The frames of the house replaced themselves and the windows were fixed and the carvings and marks I'd created during my boredom returned, I remember Thranduil had demanded that I replaced all the old beams that had been carved into with childish swirls and on one beam, I was able to retrace my height every year until I was forced to destroy it.

I walked into the building, trailing my fingers across the wood and the familiar frames.

Within the house was the small fireplace that was empty and cold, further in was the room with shelfs hanging off the walls, books stood normally, filling them all up, leaving a couple to sit on top of the rows as well.

There were vines climbing the walls and flowers blooming off the vine leaves.

Through the passage way was the kitchen, just how I remembered it. A large wooden table made for fourteen people to sit around. A small wooden bowl sat in the middle with apples, oranges and grapes sat in.
The kitchen smelt of herbs and bread. There were shelves stocked with food and ingredients for both spells and cooking. All the scents bombarded my nose. As overwhelming as it seemed, I couldn't help but to love it. I felt at home again.

--------------------------

Every week I got a letter from everyone I loved.

Every month, Legolas came and visited me for a week, the time gradually stretched out to a few weeks and then to the whole month, missing a month and coming back the next.

We've gotten closer and he's confessed that he loves me and that he was an idiot when we first met. I responded with a simple "yes you were an idiot" which made me cringe and want to cry for me returning his confession with my idioticy.

But I think he kind of understood that our feeling were mutual, but ever since that day I haven't seen him. That was two years ago. I can't help but to feel slightly worried.
..
After travelling for a couple days, I finally reach Mirkwood. The guards were pretty vicious and wouldn't allow me pass, even after knowing my identity.
"fine, but don't blame me," I snap at them before knocking each of them out and quickly riding further into the territory and to the centre. I jumped off h/n and ran into the marble walls, it was silent. Oddly silent. Well, excluding the shouts of people in the cells below my feet. Following the stairs up to where Thranduil always stood, I see the two elves, Thranduil and Legolas.

"Y'know," I spoke up, my voice ringing around us and causing the two elves to look towards me, "you should really welcome your guests with warmth."

Legolas smiled upon seeing me and Thranduil sighed.

"what is that, Thranduil? Not happy to see me?" I asked as I approached the two of them. Legolas side hugged me and I bowed at Thranduil but got no response.

"well, I'm not very well today. Welcome to Mirkwood, allow me to rest," he says before walking away and leaving me and Legolas.

"what was that?" I asked.

"well, I went on a journey and he wasn't happy with it," Legolas replies before pulling me away and back outside, "how are you?"

"I'm well, just lonely I guess," I replied, bitterness in my tone.

"I apologise," he replied, "I was helping gandalf. He's different now, you know. The white wizard now."

"really? Wow he really moved up in the world!" I exclaimed surprised.

"well, that and the fact he doesn't remember much about before he changed from grey to white," Legolas added on. I frowned, nodded and then got back onto h/n.

"well I know you're alive and that Thranduil is acting petty and Gandalf is not Gandalf. Anything else?" I asked, looking down on him.

"Elrond has left," he told me.

"like, gone gone, left?" I asked him, he nodded.

"Rivendell is gone. Just the reminents of the homes are there," he told me, I looked to the south sadly.

"and I have been kept in the dark for so long. Would've thought I could know some things this time," I mumbled to myself before getting ready to leave. Legolas grabbed my hand.

"stay with me," he says. I shake my head.

"I don't want to sound rude, but I don't want to ever stay in a non rural area every again," I told him, shaking his hand off my arm.

"Let me come with you then," he didn't hesitate, it was like he had planned this conversation and played it over times and times to find the worst outcome. He watched me expectantly.

Jumping off h/n I say, "come with me then," before grabbing his shirt and pulling him to my level, I waited a second, his face flushed a bright red and I'm sure mine did too. Standing on my tippy toes, I closed the gap and kissed him. A few moments pass and he kisses back before we both pulled apart and he rested his forehead against mine.

10 minutes later we're both riding the wild terrains of lonely mountains and hobbit holes until were reached the cottage in the woods. My cottage. Our cottage.

May our futures be splendid and full of happiness...
