It was Monday morning. Everyone was eating breakfast as normal when the daily mail came by. Hermione however received a abnormaly large amount of mail. This suprise all that where around her. "I'm gonna go see what's going on" Danie told the twins as she got up and walked over to Hermione, Harry and Ron. The twins just nodded and continued with there breakfast. " Hey what's going on?". Hermione was reading through some of the letters along with Harry and Ron. " Hermione got haute mail. " Ron explained. " It's because of Rita Skeeters storie isn't" Danie sighed standing behind Harry. Hermione opening the last envelope and a yellowish green liquid squirted onto her hand. It had a very strong smell. Danie quickly picked up a napkin and tried to wipe some off her hands. The liquid make her hands break out in horrible boils. "Undiluted Bubotuber pus!" Ron exclaimed lightly smelling the envelope. "Ow" Hermione's eyes started to tear up. " Common let's get you to the hospital wing" Danie rubbed Hermione's back. " Fred, George. Tell professor Flitwick I'll be late to class" she called to the twins the gave her a thumbs up as a response. " Make sure to be careful when getting ride of the letters" She told Harry and Ron. Danie and Hermione walked quickly hospital wing. " What happened?" Madam Pomfrey asked. " Someone sent Hermione a hate letter with undiluted Bubotuber pus in it" madam Pomfrey looked at Hermione with a displeased face. " Oh for Godrics sake I never dated Harry! And there's nothing between Viktor and I either" Hermione said frustratedly. " Madam Pomfrey expression softened. " Come let's take a look"
Hermione kept reserving hate mail each day but simple got ride of them. Some came in the form of howlers so there were a few explosions. " Oh this is rediculous. Hermione is only 14 she shouldn't have to deal with all of this rubbish! And we still don't know who put Harry's name in the goblet of fire . " Danie was mumbling to the twins during poisons. " I'm just so frustrated I could I could". " Kiss me" Fred smirked. " Yes! NO" she glared at him. Him and George looked pleased with themselves. " I'm serious" she continued to stir her poison. " We know" they said in unison. " That's all you've been going on about". " For the past week. ". Well the Harry thing you haven't let go of ". " Since it happened". They finished eachothers sentences flawlessly. " You need ". " To learn how to relax". " I'll relax when this bloody tournament is over. " She let out a sigh. She stopped stirring for a moment to Hix her mess bun. " Taking a break to fix your appearance I see miss Potter" Snape sneered coldly. "Well I can't properly brew my poison if I can't seem now can I professor" they glared at eachother and Snape walked away to pick on some other students.
Later that night Danie was this Ron and Hermione over in the corner of the common talking about school work. Much to Ron's boredom. When a very distressed looking Harry entered the room and walked over to the. " Harry what's wrong?" Danie asked as Harry sat down. Harry then explained what had just happened. He and Viktor were talking by the forbidden forest after they found out what the third task was. A maze filled with different spells and creatures. They came across a very messy and deranged looking Mr. Crouch. According to harry he was speaking nonsense and then when Harry left to get Dumbledore. He attacked Viktor and took off. " It comes down to this either Mr.Crouch attacked Viktor or somebody attacked the both of them well Viktor wasn't looking." Hermione rubbed her forehead. " It must have been Crouch" Ron said almost immediately after. " That's why he was gone when Harry and Dumbledore got there. He'd done a runner". " I don't think so " Harry shook his head. " He seemed really weak. I don't reckon he was up to disapparating or anything" Harry explained. " You can't -" " you can't disapparate in Hogwarts grounds, haven't I told you enough times?" Hermione groaned. "OK how's this for a theory " Ron spoke up. " Krum attacked Crouch- no, wait for it. Then he stunned himself. " Hermione did not look impressed. " And Mr. Crouch evaporated, did he?" She spoke coldly. "Oh yeah...."
It was early the next morning the 4 of them went to Owlry to send Sirius and update on what happened. All of them tired from staying up late last night talking about what happened with Crouch." Just go through it again Harry, what exactly did Mr.Crouch actually say?" Hermione asked for the hundredth time. " I've told you, he wasn't making any sense. " Harry sighed. " He said he wanted to warn Dumbledore about something . He definitely mentioned Bertha Jorkins and he seemed to think she was dead. He kept saying it was his fault .....he mentioned his son. " Danie leaned along the stone wall of the owlry. " And .....remind me what he said about you-know-who?" Ron said nervously. A moment of silence past. " But he was out of his mind like you said so half of it was probably just raving" Danie looked at Harry with a concerned. " He was sanest when he was trying to talk about Voldemort. " Said Harry. Very much to Ron's displeasure. " he was having real trouble stringing two words together but that was one he seemed to know where he was and know what he wanted to do he kept saying that he wanted to see the Dumbledore." Danie walked to the edge of the owlry and looked out at the forest. The other 3 continued to talk. Suddenly the steps of someone climbing up the stone steps. Danie turned around. Voices could be heard.
" That's blackmail, that is. We could get in alot of trouble for that"
"We tried being Play It's time to played dirty like him. He wouldn't like the ministry knowing what he did"
"I'm telling you if you put that in writing it's black now"
"Yeah and you won't be complaining if we get a nice fat payoff, will you?"
Fred and George walk through the entryway and froze.
"What are you doing here?" Ron and Fred said at the same time.
"Sending a letter" said Harry and George also at the same time.
" At this time?" Said Fred and Hermione.
Danie simple just watched. Fred hide the letter with his had which Danie caught raising a brow. "Well don't let us hold you up " Fred did a little bow. " Are you blackmailing?" Ron asked. Fred smile disappeared. The twins glanced at each other and Fred's returned. " Don't be stupid I was only joking" "it didn't sound like it" Said Ron. The twins looked at eachother. Fred spoke "I told you before Ron, keep your nose out if you like it the shape it is can't see why but-" " it's my business if you're blackmailing someone" Ron spoke up. " George is right, you would be in serious trouble is caught blackmailing" Danie crossed her arms and looked at the identical twins. " Told you, I was only joking" George said. He took the letter from Fred and attached it to the leg of the nearest barn owl. "You're starting to sound a bit like our dear older brother, you know Ron carry on like that and you'll be made a perfect" George teased. "No I won't!" Ron yelled. "Well then stop telling people what to do, see you later" said Fred and the left. "I'm going to go with them, I'll see you three later" Danie left to catch up with the twins at the bottom of the owlry. " So wanna tell me you your blackmailing " she said with a stern expression. They jumped and turned around. " Godric Danie don't scare us like that". " We aren't blackmailing anyone. I was joking" "joking my ass. We heard you George. You're supposed to be the responsible twin" Danie sighed and continued walking to the great Hall for breakfast. The twins looked at eachother. " What's that supposed to mean!" The twins said in unison. They ran after her.
After breakfast Danie and the twins were headed to their first class when the twins started to walk in the opposite direction. "Where are you two going?" Danie asked. "Black lake" they said in unison. Without realizing it she started following them. "your ditching?" She asked in a disapproving tone. "So?" Again in unison. "We have our owls this year! You should be using this time to learn what you can " she lectured them. "You need to learn to loosen up". "Seriously have we had no influence on you?". Danie sighed and gave up. In no time the three of the reached the grass surrounding the black lake. It was a beautiful day. It was sunny, with a slight breeze. The lake looked beautiful. The twins flopped down on the grass staring off into the lake. Danie sighed and sat down with them. She took her hair out of its pony tail. " You two do this often?" She asked "often no" "a lot yes". "What does that mean?" She asked them. "We come here when we need to think". "This is where we get our most brilliant ideas". "More like chaotic"she mumbled to herself. "The twins respond by tackling her. The three of them lay there on the grass staring up at the sky. "So what's it like ". "In Potter land". The twins ask calmly. "What do you mean?" Danie asked still looking at the sky. " You ". "And Harry". "Your rich" "and famous" Danie sat up and hugged her knees. "Yeah it must be great being forced into hiding. Always looking over your shoulder to make sure someone isn't trying to kill you. Everyone thinking you're so amazing when all you want is your parents back" she said coldly. " Danie we". " Didn't mean it like that" the twins sat up. "No one does" she looked out at the lake. She smiled to herself. She reached her hands to the sky and fell onto her back. " If Moony knew I was skipping classes he would have my head" she said light heartedly changing the subject to the twins relief. " Lupin always seemed so cool". "So why are you so up tight" the twins teased. " I am not up tight! I just value knowledge!" She said in a as a matter of fact voice. " I'd I'll have you know moony was very school driven back in his day" she had a smug look on her face. "No way!". "He was a Marauder". "Yeah the only Marauder with any common sense!" She closed her eyes and took in the peace. "So why do you call him moony?" Asked Fred. Danie's eyes opened once more. " How about this. I'll explain the Marauders nicknames if you tell me who your blackmailing" She sat up and looked at both of them intensely. The twins looked at eachother than at Danie "deal" the said in unison.

" Bagman? Seriously?!". She looked at them in shock. The nodded their heads. " I can't believe Lupin is a werewolf !" Fred leaned back on his hands. " And the rest were Animagus" George did the same. "Werewolf are only a threat to people so the because animal" Danie smiled at them. " So how do you deal with his". " Furry little problem" Danie avoided eye contact. "Well" " no way". " Are you saying you're?!". " Maybe" she looked at them with guilt and embarrassment. " I couldn't just let him go through it alone!" She defended herself. " What animal bare you?" Fred asked with excitement. " Well I wanted to become an animal that could keep moony on check" "Rino!" "Hippo!". "Horse!". "Alligator!" "No, no , no and definitely not....a..bear" she was embarrassed. It was a useful form but it wasn't every flattering in her opinion. She tried becoming a doe but she became a bear instead. "Show us" the twins said at the same time " I'm not showing you! I'm not registered, if anyone found out I would be in serious trouble with the ministry. And I don't really trust the ministry" she whispered. "Fine". "Lame". She just rolled her eyes. They were like children mixed with evil geniuses. "Common let's go inside" she smiled at them. Extending her hands out to them.
