Sigh! It’s been months since I drove my car. Well, I’m not really a good driver. Fretzie taught me once and I don’t freakin’ know why I got myself a license. I’m still panicking whenever I encounter a monster intersection X(
Terry’s not with me because he’s afraid that he might change his mind on the way. I guess he’s inside the plane now. I will really miss him..

Terry: fight for him, ann. Don’t be like me.
Ann: but I love you!
Terry: no you don’t silly.. you love him..Go to that party and tell him how much you love him.
Ann: but it’s just his mom terry! She’s the one who wanted me to go to that party!
Terry: didn’t she say that she will formally introduce you to their relatives? Besides, it’s her sister’s welcome party.. did you meet his sister?
Ann: (sighs) no.. that’s why I’m afraid..
Terry: she said that it’s only 9-10 people right?
Ann: but.. but..(sighs) james..i don’t know how to tell him about the party..
Terry: that’s what I’m talking about (sighs) why did you tell his mother that he’s in the restroom? Why didn’t you tell him that you’re not together right now?!
Ann: it’s because I don’t want her to worry!

When I arrived at the venue, I can already see the party lights dancing and HOLY COW! I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE TEN PEOPLE! HOW COME IT LOOKS LIKE THEIR WHOLE CLAN IS THERE?!
Crap! These heels are so annoying! Plus the dress! Plus the make-up! It’s all terry’s fault! He made me look like this! X(
Narrator’s POV:
Ann slowly approached the glass window and pulled her tube up again. When she entered the place, she tried her best to hide her face while the people are busy chatting, drinking, dancing and merry-making.
“OH! There she is!”
Ann: (closing her eyes) crap..
Mrs. Reid: ann! Ann! (runs towards ann) everyone! It’s ann! (points at ann) she’s ann!
Mrs. Reid hugged ann tightly and faced her..
Mrs. Reid: darling! I missed you!
She looked behind ann and frowned..
Mrs. Reid: where’s james?
Ann: (chuckles nervously) uh.. uhmm.. we.. uh.. we parted ways.. I wanted to surprise him that’s why I prepared myself..
Mrs. Reid: (pouts) is that so?
A girl in polka dots dress went closer to them..
Girl: mom, I think we need to (looks at ann) omo..
Mrs.reid: (laughs) I know! She’s stunning!
Girl: is she..
Mrs. Reid: YES! She’s ann! James’ fiancée!
Girl: omo..omo (grins) HI! I’m lauren! James’ worst nightmare!
Ann: (chuckles shyly) hello.. i.. I’m ann li..
Mrs. Reid hurried to the stage and tapped the microphone..
Mrs. Reid: ladies and gentlemen! Please listen up!
The crowd seemed to ignore her then she suddenly shouted.
Mrs. Reid: HEY! (sighs) that’s better (smiles) I would like to introduce to you (chuckles) oh my gosh! It gives me goosebumps! (teary-eyed) my future daughter-in-law!
Applause surrounded the place and cheers were thrown. The spotlight hit ann’s face and she immediately raised her hand to cover it.
Mrs.reid: come darling! Tell us about your experience with james! (smiles)
Ann: oh gosh.. (points at herself) me? (points at the stage) (whispers) there? Oh no.. no..no..no! there’s no way I’m gonna climb up that stage and speak.. no.. please.. don’t do this to be.. you’ve got to be kidding me..no.. you can’t make me come up there..please T^T
Ann: (breathes hard) uh.. good evening everyone..I.. I am ann li.. James’ fiancée..
Loud noise echoed and the cheers seemed to grow louder. After many seconds, the cheers died down..
Ann: (chuckles nervously) uh.. the first time I saw james, I already said that ”I want to marry him” .. I don’t know why but I think love at first sight is really true! (smiles) I think it’s cupid’s stupidity! I think he hit me with 20 arrows! The moment I heard that we’re getting married, I feel like I’m the luckiest person in the world!
Ann’s POV:
Weird.. why do I feel like crying? I can’t help but to remember all the things about our fate..
Ann: (sniffs) I just… I just love him..you know that feeling? Even if sometimes he rejects me, I can still say that I’m happy with him.. he treats me so nice and he always find ways to make me feel special.
I lied. I know it’s not good but I don’t want them to be angry at James.
Ann: I just.. (sniffs) I just love him. He is so special to me that I’m willing to sacrifice everything for him to be happy (teary-eyed) I know that it’s a fixed-marriage but I don’t care! As long as he’s with me (fans her eyes with her hand) oh my! Can I have a tissue please? (chuckles) sorry.. I just can’t help it.. I love her so much.. so much that my heart would drop whenever I see him! His smiles are my ticket to heaven (sniffs) his laughs are my subway to the sky (sobs) oh gosh! Sorry (smiles) I really can’t help it.. (sniffs) he is really a great man and I cn’t wait to be Mrs. Ann Reid (chuckles) I wanted to say in front of you how much I love your James—our James.. I will treasure him and be with him always—I will stay by his side and give him all the love (sniffs) I hope that you can accept—
Narrator’s POV:
The bang of the door made the people quiet down. Ann looked at the doorway and blocked the spotlight from her face to check if its james..
Ann: (smiles) it’s him.. (whispers) he didn’t forget about me.. he came..
The crowd gasps when James grabbed someone at his side and it’s none other than..
ERICKA—his official girlfriend..
Ann stood stiff on the stage, gripping the microphone tightle. Her eyes were narrowed and her heart started to pump irregularly.
James, wearing a suit, dragged Ericka up the stage and grabbed the microphone from ann..
James: ladies and gentlemen, the person I wanted to marry is (raising ericka’s wrist) her..
Ericka immediately hid behind james’ broad shoulders as the crowd buzzed around..
Ericka: (whispers) james.. don’t..
Ann was catching her breath in the side, trying to convince herself that it was just a stupid dream..
James: (glares at ann) i won't marry Ann (looks at the crowf) I don't love her at all. You should be aware that it was just a fixed marriage—no feeling involved! From the very start, they knew all along that I oppose this marriage; I don’t want it! I hate her for ruining my life. I can’t be with Ericka because of her.
He looked at sharply at ann who was staring at them with great shock in her face.
James: I hope you will accept this. (looks at his family) I’m sorry mom, dad, lauren but I want to end everything.
He swallowed hard and scanned the audience..
Everyone was too shocked and confused to react. Even his parents did know what to do.
Ann, even if she’s trembling, managed to grab the other microphone. She was hurting—hurting like she’s gonna explode in any minute.
She felt as if she had to say something to get james pout of this trouble.
Ann: i..i’m sorry.. (swallows hard) i..I lied. (controls her tears) it’s my fault. James has nothing to do with this. It’s all my fault.
Clouds started to form in her vision because of the tears forming in her eyes.
Ann: I failed to be his ideal girl. I always bug him, I always get him into trouble and I always (sniffs) i.. (swallows) I always end up ruining his life.
Pain started to block her throat to the point that she could not breathe anymore. She controlled the sobs that seem to cover her heart.
Ann: but.. (sniffs) trust me, I tried everything to make him fall for me (sobs softly) I’m sorry..
James: everyone! Don’t believe her lies! She’s just trying to act pitiful in front of you. You don’t know her. (glares at ann) stop acting like you’re the victim here! I MADE UP MY MIND AND NOTHING CAN CHANGE MY DECISION!
James grabbed Ericka’s hand and was about to go down when ann suddenly spoke with a weak voice with a blend of tiny sobs.
Ann: (wiped her tears) one more question james..
He stopped and glared at ann fiercely.
Ann: (swallows hard) Ericka…or me..
James: my answer will always be the same.
Ann was a tower of cards in the verge of being blown away. She gripped the microphone tight while waiting for his answer.
James: Ericka..
ann: please james (sobs) we can work this out.. if.. (sniffs) if i'm no good, i can change.. just tell me what i need to do (cries) please..i will do everything for you..
james: get out of my life, never appear in front of me and stop acting in front of my family. Those are the things you must do for me..
And she was destroyed. Tears rolled down her cheeks and her eyes silently shut. James’s father tried to chase james but he drove the car violently; like a drunk person.
The crowd buzzed and whispered. Lauren tried to control the fuss while her mother went up the stage with tears on her eyes.
Mrs. Reid: oh my gosh (cries hard) I’m sorry ann.. (sobs)
She touched ann’s shoulder and made her face towards her.
Mrs. Reid: hey ann .. darling (cries) I’m sorry (hugs ann) I didn’t know what to—I was so clueless.
Ann couldn’t hear anything anymore. She just stared at nowhere as tears rolled on her eyes.
Mrs. Reid: honey (rubs ann’s back) honey please calm down..
Lauren went up too and tried to calm her mother.
Lauren: mom (sniffs) please.. not now.. you should talk to the family.. there’s so many questions to be answered..
M rs. Reid: ann.. (sobs)
Lauren: (grabs her mother gently) you’re making her feel worse..
Mrs. Reid: (looks at ann) don’t worry, hmm? I will fix this—I will do—I will make him—lauren let’s force james (cries) I don’t know what to do anymore!!
Mrs. Reid shook Lauren’s shoulder like a little girl trying to convince her mother to buy her a doll..
Mrs. Reid: please..(cries harder) please lauren..
Lauren: (teary-eyed) mom.. I’m sorry..please calm down..
Mrs Reid: (looks at ann) ann? Please don’t be like this.. please ann..(sobs) I will.. (sniffs)
Mrs. Reid tried to manage herself and she faced ann as she wiped the tears on her cheeks.
Mrs. Reid: everything will be fine ann..Don’t worry (sniffs) hmm?
Ann looked at lauren with painful eyes.
Ann: I’m sorry I destroyed your party lauren..
Lauren’s tears gave up. She could not afford seeing Ann in great pain. She was like a little child saying sorry for something she had never done..
Lauren: hush ann (wipes her tears) we will talk to James and settle this matter, okay?
She just looked at Mrs. Reid and Lauren..
Mrs. Reid: lauren’s right darling (wipes ann’s tears) James will marry you, okay? He’s just unsure of his feelings; I know my son, Ann.. please don’t cry anymore..
Lauren: we will be talk to him..I promise..
Mrs. Reid: Ann (shakes ann) ann..
Ann was just staring at nowhere; no emotions, just tears flowing from her eyes.
Mrs. Reid: ann, please forgive james (sobs) I promise to fix this.
Ann: (looks at Mrs. Reid) there’s no need.
